ive used it for djing online and chatting/singing on yahoo and pal talk recording music , its a great mic only fault i can find with it is it pics up everything in the house lol,but like any piece of equipment if used correctly it yields beautiful results , just hook it into a tube preamp and the results are amazing before you down a piece of equipment learn to use it correctly
I bought 2 of these things about 2 years ago to use in an elementary school PA system. I got them on sale considerably less than the going price these days. I was very impressed with the sound these things make. First, they are much "cleaner" than a Shure SM 57/58, producing a very rich clear tone. So, for vox. instruments, they are great. There are some drawbacks... They are VERY sensitive, so they pick up tons of sound from everywhere, which makes them prone to feedback. Next, they are very noisy to hold in your hand, due to the mic's construction, so if you do a lot of passing the mic around, it will be noisy. Last, the windscreen is prone to breaking off if you drop the thing (duh), and cannot be reasonably reattached. Bummer. So, all said, if you want a very nice-sounding mic for a reasonable price, and you plan to take care of it... it's a best buy!
i recently received this mic as a gift, and rekindled my passion for playing. In the beginning I was skeptical, I knew about akg's reputation but hadn't ever used one. i was soon pleasantly surprised when i sang though i was a little disappointed with it as an instrumental mic
