These headphones have allowed me to enjoy recording again. Before these AKG's, I had a pair of Sony Pro-Studio phones that would give me a headache within 30 minutes or so. (Due to the fit and weight not volume level) I had gotten to the point that when I would have the urge to tinker in the studio I'd think about putting on the headset and find something else to go do.
I record through a Boss1600 using a presonus tube channel strip as a pre. So far, the AKG's have handled every tonal mix i run them through with no problem.
These are the most comfortable, best sounding and far from the most expensive headphones I've ever owned. I've had high end Sony's & JVC's in the past and I'm set on AKG's for life now.
Well made for the light weight and able to handle heavy duty bass with no distortion or popping.
Worth much more than they cost!

I have 4 headphones below this price range and they are all superior.
Do yourself a favor...skip this one.
It looks beautiful and pretty sturd.
Fits very comfortably.
The 1/8 jack doesn't enter the 1/4 adapter all the way.
Sound quality is simply bad.
When I put it on I thought I was listening to a mono headphone with deafening bass.
It's just a spare item in new condition to be gathering dust.

The K44 Headphone sets are lightweigh, thus K44 headphone are comfrontable to wear while practicing for a peroid of time. The sound is nice and clear. I got these K44 at a sale price and, so that makes for a great value. Use as an extra pair of headphones for practicing.

I got these as a Deal of the Day in a Guitar/music store. The clerk sent me home with these and another set that retailed for more than double the price of these, at regular cost, not Deal price. The difference was amazing! These cans won hands down! Admittedly, there is a bit too much bass reflex, but not as much as the competition. I've had many sets of earphones, but these are the best I've found at any price under three times this amount. For tonal clarity, crystal clear definition and the ability to distinguish slight variations in frequencies, these have been wonderful for me. This is the first time I've given five stars to a product since I bought my Martin Guitar, and that was nearly thirty years ago!

I had looked at this for a while, then it came up as the stupid deal of the day and that did it. This model is well known among some of my colleagues. I am very impressed with the fidelity. I use it with a a Casio WK-200. Bass reproduction is fantastic. I highly recommend this headset.

I bought these headphones for my traveling voiceover studio rig. They are very light but well-constructed, which makes them great candidates for road use. The sound is pretty heavily biased to the bass registers so they wouldn't be so hot for exacting EQ work, but I'm satisfied for my own purposes.

THE GOOD:
They're comfortable, light and handle high volumes well without breaking up.
THE BAD:
I play bass and love bass frequencies. I thought perhaps the other reviews claiming these headphones are too bass-heavy might be exagerated, so I gave them a shot. They were right. I hoped to use them for home recording and practicing my bass quietly. Sadly, they're just too bassy and lack any high-end definition.
I tried plugging them into my phone and they sounded equally bad when playing music. My cheap, old, department store Sony headphones sound more balanced. I'll be returning them shortly.

The light weight is the first thing I noticed about these AKG's. The flexible headband does not have nor need thick padding as the headphones deliver sound without a lot of weight or clamping around the ears. Sound quality is good and at or above the level for this price point. I got the headphones as a Stupid Deal of the Day, which made buying them a no-brainer.
