This mixer is the best I have ever used. It over powers all of our amps and we use half stacks and full stacks so its definitely loud. Its definitely worth the price. I play in a hardcore band and we like to play loud so it definitely works out for us. It has amazing effects, great setting and everything. We have even used this for recording and it worked great definitely an A++++
I purchased this unit and have taken it out to perform 4 times. Twice now it has failed with no output to main speakers. Thank goodness for a backup plan. It appears to have nice features - but no good endorsement from me on this unit.
I baught this powered mixer about 6 months ago and it was a little tough to figure out as far as tweaking goes you have to play with it to get it to sound good . The 99 effects are very good they are not all the same you turn the knob to a different # preset and then push the knob in to select that preset. The only problem I find is with 8ohm speakers they tend to distort at high volumes when you get to close to the mic. I've used this amp live with my 3 piece rock band in a very small room and it works fine I just wish i could get rid of the distortion.
This little pa amp is great for rehearsals and small venues. Sound is clear, eq is good, and 30db boost on xlr inputs is fantastic. There are cheaper units, but I stay away from the Nady stuff because of all the bad reviews. This thing is just what I expected and performs better than I anticipated. Wish it had an eq for monitors, but for this price it's fantastic.
I bought the Alesis Gigamix 4FX Powered Mixer 2 years ago when I moved to TX. I started a small band and this mixer was on clearence for an unbelievably low price. When team with kustom KPC15 speakers during practice I was afraid it was under powered for playing a gig. When we did our first gig the bar owner asked me to turn it DOWN! We play small gigs and mike everything. I got a nady PRA-8 mic pre-amp to use the stereo line inputs and it works great with this mixer. We use 2 kustom KPC10 monitors powered by a gem sound XP-350 stereo pwer amp. I am not dissatisfied.
This thing is far from road-worthy. All the effects do sound the same. It is perfect for practice. If you are looking for something for vocals at practice this is exactly what you need. Don't waste your money on a real big expensive power mixer. 4 channels and 200 watts is plenty enough to get over drums and halfstacks.
Alright, I am only using this as a part of my recording work station and for that purpose it is unbelievable. Now I am not a big time recorder, I just like putting my music on CD then showing it off. I take allot of pride in my music and so when something sounds like crap i'll say it, but this peice right here is pretty nice. Really its just like any other mixer except it has 99 different effects from playing in a hall to playing in a room with wooden floors, really I think they all sound the same, but thats just me. In any case it adds a nice little effect to the recording, because when you record you know the atmosphere can make the difference, so with this you can play around with the effects to get the atmosphere you want for your music. And the price folks! Man the price, they are practically giving it to you. The only thing that would make the offer sweeter is if they hand delivered a slice of cake to your door. So the summery, its great for recording, great featuires, and an unbeatable price.
Any direct hit to the front of this unit will likely break something. If you keep it in a safe place, it will compliment most any band at a small gig or in the garage practice session. the separate monitor jack is a plus for Recording or feeding a larger Amp. Effects are pretty good.
