OVERVIEW

A 2-channel on-the-go audio interface.

The Alesis iO Hub is a professional two-channel audio interface that empowers you to create anywhere. Made for traveling musicians and mobile producers, iO Hub enables you to record, lay down, and mix musical ideas with your Mac and PC whenever inspiration strikes. Its compact, portable design fits in your gig or laptop bag and leaves an ultra-small footprint in any recording or performing setup. Plus, a single USB connection provides power to iO Hub and plug-and-play connectivity; no power supply or additional drivers required. iO Hub can also connect to your iPad and other devices with the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit (sold separately) for even more recording-platform flexibility.

Versatile Inputs
With two XLR+1/4" combo inputs, iO Hub can accommodate nearly any audio source: connect microphones, keyboards, guitars, basses, and much more to start crafting your song. Channel one features selectable 48v phantom power for tracking with condenser microphones, and channel two provides an additional switch that allows a guitar or bass to be connected directly to iO Hub.

Mix and Monitor
iO Hub supports stereo playback from your computer for professional mixing and monitoring. Connect its two 1/4" outputs directly to your active monitor speakers, amplifier, PA system, and use the direct switch for zero-latency monitoring of the input signal – ideal during session tracking, when adding overdubs, or laying down additional tracks. A stereo headphone output with a dedicated volume knob is also onboard for private recording and late-night mixing. Finally, a main-level control allows you to adjust the global volume, so you can mix and record at the optimal sound level.

Comments about Alesis iO Hub 2-Channel USB Audio Interface:

Although the website implies it works with the iPad, I have found this is not true, even with an additional but expensive purchase of the reqiured connector suggested on the outside of the box. I have been in touch with Alesis Tech Support and still no success. I plan to return this item.

Comments about Alesis iO Hub 2-Channel USB Audio Interface:

I bought this interface when it was the stupid deal of the day. I needed a new interface and I was familiar with Alesis products before, so I took a chance on this.

This is a solid interface. Very easy to plug in and use. Two Mic/Line in's (One with Phantom Power, one with Mic/Guitar switch for specifics, both are combo jacks), Headphone jack and stereo output for monitors.

It's built really well, it doesn't feel like a flimsy piece of plastic. It's small so bringing it around to places is easy.

If you're looking for a solid two input interface for a good price, this is right for you. If you're looking for something that offers you a bit more, then you may want to look elsewhere.

For what it was bought for, definitely a good value.

Comments about Alesis iO Hub 2-Channel USB Audio Interface:

I'm a relative beginner and just wanted an entry-level audio interface to get some sounds from my guitar and mic into the laptop. I don't do particularly well by just reading manuals/documentation but I've been able to play around with it and make some headway. The online help website was helpful, answering my question in a timely fashion, and got me over a hump quickly. Anyway, I can now record some guitar onto my laptop with some applied sound FX. Meets my needs and expectations.

Comments about Alesis iO Hub 2-Channel USB Audio Interface:

I needed an interface that was small and compact with a good price. This was it! It's nice how lightweight it is, its nice and portable. Easy hookup. Pretty much plug and play. I did realize, however, that the first channel input was panned to the left and the second was panned to the right, there is no way to change that on the device itself, but easily fixed in a DAW. Not sure if it was supposed to be like that, or some kind of fluke. Still an amazing little product though.

Comments about Alesis iO Hub 2-Channel USB Audio Interface:

I use it in combination with PG Music's RealBand, and it works great. One problem, I would like a stereo input for my mic. I use the mic and guitar inputs, and both work fine. Unit looks good, and is easy to use.

Comments about Alesis iO Hub 2-Channel USB Audio Interface:

Overall very good experience, but I had a problem with the second channel having a very bad white noise problem. I tried to find out the reason, but when I looked on the fourms, it didn't seem like anyone else had this problem.

Comments about Alesis iO Hub 2-Channel USB Audio Interface:

The product arrived sooner than expected. Everything was included. Hookup was simple and easy to understand without need for instructions. Worked great the first time. Only complaint would be the switches on the front for guitar/mic etc. They are small, difficult to access due to their location between the knobs. The switch detents seem soft and don't give a strong felling of switch location by feel or visually.

            A Joke

            By Keyz

            About Me Experienced

Comments about Alesis iO Hub 2-Channel USB Audio Interface:

I purchased the IO-Hub with high-hopes of stereo recording directly into my ipad. The IO-Hub is advertised to do this.

This did not work... got "insufficient power" dialog on my ipad and it never powered. For the ipad, it requires 9-volt batteries, so I tried the one that came with the unit and since that failed, I purchased a new one, just in case. This also failed. Also tried on 2 different ipads, with the same results.

I exchanged the 1st one for another one (Musicians Friend was very responsive). The 2nd one had the same problem... no power.

BTW, it does work with USB connection to a computer, but that's not what I wanted.

I filled out 2 customer-support questions to Alesis and got NO response... not even an acknowledgement that they had received the request and would look into it.

I will probably never consider another Alesis product in the future... if they can't make a relatively simple unit perform, I can only imagine what the outcome be for something that is more complex.

            Ugh!

This comment section is a pain. Guess that's why I'm first. Okay it was easy to set up and the first two tracks went smoothly. Not sure why but that's all I could get down. Maybe it's an I/O thing with protools. Could someone post a fix for that?
