OVERVIEW

Compact high-performance PA system.

Trouper is a 2-way 200-watt bi-amplified system (130 watts LF/70 watts HF) with (3) 6 ½ (165mm) woofers and a 1 (25mm) high-frequency compression driver, delivering 65-20kHz frequency response. The system has thermal and dynamic overload protection, so the sound is always clean and clear however hard you push it.

A built-in mixer section features three channels of inputs, each with line/mic 1, line/mic 2, and Aux. XLR, RCA, ¼ and 1/8 connectors, so whether yo are a DJ, presenter or a musician, all of your cables will work with the Trouper. It features two-Band (LF/HF) built-in EQ for each channel, and Full Bluetooth capability for streaming input signals wirelessly (plus wireless linking of another Trouper system for stereo applications).

The Trouper's trapezoidal enclosure dramatically reduces internal standing wave resonances, resulting in cleaner output in upper bass and vocal range. It is easy to set up and use, and it takes a lot of real-world punishment:

It is stand-mountable with 36mm pole socket and covered in scuff-resistant black vinyl wrap and protective steel corners. Easily transportable at just 23 lb., The Trouper is a great-performing, flexible, go-anywhere PA system that makes any small-venue gig sound its best.

Comments about Alto Trouper Compact High Performance PA System:

Really quiet! No hiss, no hum! Easy to lug around. Gets pretty loud without breaking up. Bigger drivers than the competition, so it gets to push more air. Way better priced than the competition. Will buy one more for sure. The money I made for one gig already paid for this, what more can a working musician ask for.

Comments about Alto Trouper Compact High Performance PA System:

compact, delivers great sound, crisp, tight ,and professional. remember these are not big dog speakers like ev's or jbl's and they don't have 12 or 15 " woofers in them. they lack bass end ,but a sub is usually used for that. they are really clear and give mids a new meaning they are perfect for a small venue

Comments about Alto Trouper Compact High Performance PA System:

I initially bought one just to use in restaurants and hotels etc and very soon bought a second unit.
The Alto Trouper has blown me away, the sound is crystal clear and it delivers plenty of punch and with two running together I have 400w in the boot!
My vocals have a lot of dynamics so I needed a system which would cover every spectrum of my music and the Alto Trouper does it in style and with plenty of headroom.
At first the bluetooth didn't interest me but I am now smitten by it, all in all this is a great little system and it ticks every box for me.

Comments about Alto Trouper Compact High Performance PA System:

So far, I've used the Alto Trouper at 2 gigs ... no problems ... quick set up ...I already have speaker stands for my full PA, so I brought just one and took advantage of the pole mount built into the Alto ... the people loved the sound (that was reflected by the amazing amount of tips I made, on top of my regular pay).

Remember, this is a "bare-bones" PA (just amplification ... no effects of any kind) - so I brought along pedals to "enhance" the sound (a Boss Digital Reverb RV-2 & MXR Analog Chorus for the acoustic guitar - a TC Helicon Harmony Singer for the vocals). My main reason for buying this unit was the price, the weight, and the convenience (many of the restaurants & bars I play in, place the musician in awkward spots where a unit like this on a stand makes it easier to aim the sound in proper directions - without the "overkill" of a full PA with far more power than is necessary).

My usual "go to" unit for small & medium sized venues is a Fender Acoustasonic 150. That one has stood the test of time (since I've used it 80 - 90% of the time for the last 5 years). I chose to acquire the Alto Trouper as an alternate & back-up for the Fender. The only reason I didn't give the Alto Trouper a full 5-star rating is because it still has one more test it has to pass (as far as I'm concerned) ... durability. I average 15-16 gigs a month - and the next test of this unit will take a few years. But as I said in the title of this review ... so far - so good.

Comments about Alto Trouper Compact High Performance PA System:

I bought this to use at home for parties, for some gigs at a Farmers Market and a local Street Fair. Instead of lugging my Yamaha Mixer ,couple of A15's and monitors and having more power than I would ever need, I just need this 23 pound unit ,a speaker stand & a mic w/stand. This is more than enough for a small outdoor event. Now, add the Bluetooth feature to play break music through it. Perfect!
This unit puts out great clear sound. Of course your not gonna get mega bass tones out of it but it has very satisfying bottom end.

Comments about Alto Trouper Compact High Performance PA System:

100% as advertised. Took longer to unpack than box than it did to pair my phone via Bluetooth.
SPL with program material is loud enough to make your teeth hurt, but clean & clear the whole way.
(Kills me to now think of all the heavy big-assed cabinets we hauled around in my younger days.)
Alto has a real winner here. Perfect setup for a club single or duo, without breaking the bank on similar products from Bose or Fishman. Though far from a sub, the bass response is better than expected from such a small cabinet.
We are a 501c-3 non-profit & bought a total 4 Troupers to use specifically as a special event PA in a banquet room with a 10' ceiling and capacity of 250 ppl. Bluetooth speaker to speaker pairing to minimize cable runs is a perfect solution for our application.
Might just have to blow the dust off my Ovation and find an excuse to exercise these impressive little speakers a couple more times throughout the year. Kudos to Alto engineering & product development.

Comments about Alto Trouper Compact High Performance PA System:

I've only used this one speaker at band practice so far. It's so quiet, no hums or buzzes. I had to look and see if it was still turned on because it was so quiet. The other guys in the band love it too. One thing I noticed was that it wasn't as loud when you plugged a mic directly into the cabinet. I had the controls up about three quarters and it wasn't that loud. When I plugged in a mixer it was perfect, plenty of sound. We are practicing in a small room and it sounds great. I can't wait to try it in a larger room. You can't beat the price for what you are getting.

Comments about Alto Trouper Compact High Performance PA System:

Lightweight unit that would be ideal for singer songwriter gigs where people are actually listening to your performance. If you're playing a venue where people talk at their tables, you may need 2 of these. The bluetooth works great and you could quickly have music for a party or cookout. I use this at my acoustic duo practice and as our stage monitor. The handle is at the top for placing on a stand, but the unit would greatly benefit from one on the long side for carrying around. I'd look into a bag for it from Gator or Arriba. I really like the Trouper, probably because of its low price tag, but it does seem solidly built and sounds good. Decide based on how you're going to use it and how much power you'll need. I've always figured 10 watts per person in your audience(s). These are 200 watts so 20 people, unless they're sitting rapt with attention.

This Alto Trouper has really blown me away!! I can't believe what a solid, great sounding compact PA System this is especially at this price!! I have only hooked it up at home and have yet to take it to a gig but I can see that this would be perfect for a single/duo act that want to keep setup to a minimum but still have great sound! Also, the Bluetooth feature is really nice and reliable on this. I couldn't be happier with this....HIGHLY recommend this!!
