These phones are nice for the price. Professional DJ-style phones with a flat cord, good fit, good sound and sturdy build. The 40mm drivers do just fine. There's a slight bump in the bass, but not like Beats or other augmented phones. These are pretty smooth across all frequencies, not harsh and not muddy. Noticed a little "ear fatigue" after listening over an hour, but I think this is due to the hot and overcompressed mastering of the recordings themselves, rather than these phones. These phones are not harsh in the highs and mids like many phones. Good phones for the price, especially on a Stupid Deal of the Day.

I research these headphones before purchasing and they got good reviews. They're very muffled and muddy, my cheap earbuds are more crisp and clear with good bass. I'm going to get some sennheisers to replace these and use these if I ever need to listen to music under water. Do not recommend. Save your money.

Cheap plastic

By McFry

from Bozeman, MT

About Me Experienced

Pros

  • Adjustable
  • Good Sound

Cons

  • Not durable

Best Uses

  • Home Studio

Comments about American Audio ETR 1000R DJ Headphones:

Bought these as a simple everyday headphone, which they did very well until it started to get cold outside. One day the plastic adjustment for changing the size of the headband simply snapped in half while I was wearing it. It didn't comprimise the sound, and I could fix it for the most part. But still:

The plastic headband broke randomly while I was wearing them.

Good for the money, but would not go pro

Cons

  • Slightly Mushy Bass

Best Uses

Comments about American Audio ETR 1000R DJ Headphones:

I got these on the SDOTD awhile ago, and these kick the butt of my old sony ones I got for the same price. However, I feel like the bass could be tighter. They aren't bad by any means, but aren't pro quality. If you want some good phones for cheap, go for it. If you have a paying gig, you may want better.

I got terribly shrill and distorted sound while trying to listen to the output of the harmonica band. The phones did not give me a true quality of the sound. My old phones are much better.

I got these on sale so an amazing deal. Sound is ok but these leak sound bad. Basically if you ok with everyone hearing your music or whatever audio your listening to these are fine.
