I thought I should comment on the performance of this amp since I have owned it for two years now. I use it to amplify my acoustic guitar in small clubs and restaurants. The amp could not perform better. It is quiet, stays cool and has very low fan noise. Sound is excellent with no audible noise and everything works the way it did when I bought it. I gig three to four times a week, so I move it around a lot. Hope this helps someone.

I got this for use with my NI 'rig kontrol' hardware for guitar and keyboard and it worked decently well for a while. The filter settings on the back were very handy and I liked how the amp was 1U. Connectivity was good (1/4" and XLR inputs). It had a problem with radio pickup and after a few weeks using it at home (at moderately medium volume levels) it developed some distortion that would only occur at high frequencies. I exchanged it for an XLS 202 and have been very happy.

Comments about American Audio VLP300 Power Amplifier:
It was a listed as refurbished and in stock. Well, after paying for it, I was notified that is was back ordered so it took over a week longer that expeted to arrive and once it did and I had time to open it and hook it up, I discovered that all of the switches on the back were caved into the unit (almost umreachable) and, one channel didn't work. I'm trying to get a refund!

Comments about American Audio VLP300 Power Amplifier:
I have 2 of these and use one to drive subs in stereo (2 subs) and bridged (1 sub) and the other I use to drive a pair of PA monitors (Carvin 2 way). The amp works well for both application, all uses have been indoors and I have driven the amps from near low-end to the highest output possible. I have never had an issue and the oldest unit is a few years old. For the price this is a great unit, very little distortion, clean bass, and plenty of power for most applications. I also have the larger 600 and am just as happy with it.
Comments about American Audio VLP300 Power Amplifier:
No noise or heat and this powers both of my behringer monitors really good.
This amp is a work horse.
Totally worth every penny.

im a satisfied customer.
it is what it is! straight forward and easy to figure out.
gave it nine only because some of the finishing touches were not there. outside of that, this is abslutely a beast. well made, built like a tank. the led lights are bright, connections fit perfectly, no janky craftmanship. heavy as hell. after about two hours of practice, still ran cool. makes a little bit of noise/hum- non issue for a live setting but if it were to be used as an amp to power studio monitors in a recording setting, which is something i also do, the hum would definitely be audible. if used in a listening only environment, non issue, as the hum is not loud. but for a project studio where you'd be tracking in the same room you monitor in, youd have to turn the amp off.
for the price, unbeatable. also takes up only one rack space and runs cool. provides enough power for a small/medium venue PA's monitoring system. good quality.
Comments about American Audio VLP300 Power Amplifier:
We have 2 of these. One is new, one is a couple of years old. Easy hook up, no problems. We use them for our monitors and the sound is clear.
Comments about American Audio VLP300 Power Amplifier:
This was purchased to replace a 70's era Tapco CP-120 in my home studio. I gained an extra space in my rack (always a plus), more power, and no more scratchy controls and arbitrary level changes. The price was very reasonable, and the unit performs nicely. Ordered from MF on Monday night, arrived Thursday evening. Free shipping. Can't beat that!
A single rack space amp with lots of LOUD.
Two small but effective cooling fans.
Recessed front panel controls.
Speakon and binding post output connectors.
XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs.
Stereo, bridged mono, and parallel mono modes.
Too soon to tell, but seems plenty robust for my purposes (home studio).
Comments about American Audio VLP300 Power Amplifier:
The small size is convenient, the price is low. If you want high quality sound, you have to pay more and lift more. The imperfections I hear in sound quality matter to me because of the style of music I play but for a band or monitors, this amp would be ok.
The VLP300 amp has decent inputs and outputs and recessed volume controls. It's best feature is its small size.
I got the VLP300 to replace a larger heavier QSC 1400 in my PA system. I perform solo with an acoustic guitar and Shure 55 mic. I love the size of this amp at just 1 space. I've performed once with it and have been rehearsing with it at home. There is audible distortion at lower sound levels and I get more feedback at higher frequencies as compared with the QSC. I can distinctly hear the difference in sound quality and have decided to just lug my heavier QSC amp, even though I cannot fit it into my current rack setup. The VLP300 seems like it would be ok for a band, maybe for monitors, but not for something intimate like acoustic guitar and vocal.
The VLP300 does have good value in that it's got enough power and compact size for many applications.

Comments about American Audio VLP300 Power Amplifier:
I really like this amp. I use it with an older DOD 8-channel mixer and the two Kustom speakers, even though I have bigger things, but I don't need them currently. I have not pushed it hard, not trooped it around a bunch, but it has gotten some live use outdoors on at least 5 occasions, and it was just fine. It's small, has quiet cooling fans," and overall performs well for what I ask for it.
I bought one of these to power my Kustom 12"" 100w monitor speakers/small PA", and it has performed very well. I have also loaned it to a guy to DJ with, two years ago, and he had no problems, either. I used it twice in very hot sun in a parking lot solo situation," and it was fine.
It seems to be rugged and good quality - I was surprised. I thought it would be ""cheap"" in some way", but it isn't.
Good value for the money.
Comments about American Audio VLP300 Power Amplifier:
I have owned this amp now for about a year or so and use it in my home studio to drive a set of Behringer Truth passive nearfield monitors. I have had no problems with it, knock on wood..Provides good clean quiet power, and I guess I could have spent twice as much money on a Crown, or a QSC, but why?
