    Comments about Apogee JAM 96K:

I play bass, have read much about the IOS software systems and there recording and live performance applications so I took the plunge.

As an interface linking quarter inch guitar cable plugs to iPads/iPhones or Androids it is pricey. There are probably a nickel of electronics and plastic in this gizmo but it facilitates connections to recording and play along software.

I bought JamUp Pro software and it is definitely aimed at the guitar player with a few options for bass. Of course, there are expansion packets for bass and a particularly intriguing BIAS that allows you to change tubes. The Apogee products works well with the software. I had to order a 30 pin adapter as the Apogee 96k comes with the iPhone lightning plug.

        Comments about Apogee JAM 96K:

I'm looking for a 30 pin male with a lightening female patch/cable/adaptor. Preferably through Apogee at no additional charge. Neither my new Apogee 96k mic nor my new Apogee 96k jam came with this plug connection. Help!

          Comments about Apogee JAM 96K:

I bought the Jam 96k to run my accoustic/electric into my iPhone for GarageBand, then into my amp system. It is simple to use, delivers clear sound and has 3 different connectors: USB, old Apple connection (iPhone 4S/older) and new Apple connection (iPhone 5/newer). Overall seems to be a great piece, just wish there was a way to plug in & charge the iPhone/iPod while using it; since there's not (and the Jam powers off your device) the battery drops relatively fast and can leave you stranded without sound. I haven't yet identified which component is causing it, but there is a slight lag between my guitar inputs and what comes out of the amp system. If you're playing by yourself or on lead it doesn't matter that much, but can throw off your timing if you're playing with others. Can't definitively say it's the Jam, just stating my experience with my specific setup.

          Comments about Apogee JAM 96K:

Very easy to setup and use. Works very well with all iOS software that I have seen except the Line 6 software called mobile pod. That software wants to communicate with the mobile pod device. So far I have tried the following software with the JAM 96 device with no problems: AmpKit, PocketAmp Pocket GK (Bass Amp), AmpliTube, JamUp, Garage Band and Logic. The sound is fantastic as long as you adjust the gain so that the device does not bottom out during loud passages. Sinceitis poweredfrom the iOS device there is no battery to change or leak. When the unit is not in use or being transported I put it in an eye glass case with all of the cables. This protects the device and keeps the cables handy. The sound is pure and the lag time is short. I just wish that they would port the iOS software to the windows platform.
