JAM brings the legendary sound quality of Apogee to iPad, iPhone and Mac. Now guitarists can have a pocket-sized, plug in and play interface at an unprecedented price and experience ultimate tone with the guitar amps and effects in Apple’s GarageBand software or other compatible applications.

Apogee JAM Key Features:
• PureDIGITAL instrument connection for pristine sound quality
• Designed specifically for electric guitar and bass
• No configuration, just plug in and play
• Easily adjust input levels for any instrument
• Multicolor LED for status indication and input level monitoring
• Made for GarageBand, Logic, and MainStage

Apogee JAM is a premium digital converter featuring PureDIGITAL technology which delivers your guitar’s true tone to your iPad or Mac without compromise. JAM is the first high quality interface that makes a digital connection to both iOS devices and Mac. You will notice the sonic difference between JAM and other similar products immediately.

Who is JAM for?
JAM is great for beginners and advanced players who want a high quality guitar sound for practicing, recording, or just jamming on both iPad and Mac.

Ready to rock—status and level indication
It’s easy to tell if JAM is connected properly by the status LED on the top panel. If it’s green, you are ready to rock and the light becomes your input level indicator. If it turns red, you are rocking too hard and you need to turn your gain down with the control knob.

Crank it up and dial it in with easy level control
JAM features an input gain control knob. This rotary style wheel is conveniently located on the side of JAM for easy thumb access and allows you to dial in the level of your guitar without accessing software.

Did you know?
JAM is a true digital device featuring special circuitry designed specifically for guitar and bass. The Apogee engineers responsible for JAM’s sound quality have created professional audio hardware found in recording studios around the world and heard on countless hit records.

Just plug into you iPad or iPhone and I use it withGarage Band or Dave Mustaine's app. It's easy to use.

I haven't had any issues

It's sort of expensive but it works great so it's worth it.

I can take it with on weekend trips. I will be using a lot this summer.

Pristine sound. Works great with GarageBand on iPad, iPhone and my iMac. Very easy to use. Just plug in and play.  I have played my Strat , a Roland V accordion and an  acoustic with a Sunrise pickup through the Jam and all sounded perfect.

Vastly better than alternatives

Features:

This is my third guitar interface for iPhone / iPad, and the first one that's actually useable. The others were fundamentally flawed because they were artificially amplifying the signal. This one used the iPod dock connector to do it correclty. The inline gain control, simplicity of design, and mostly the amazing audio quality add up to a clear winner.

Quality:

Solid construction, and includes cables for both iPad and computer

Value:

I wish it were a little less expensive, but I still think it's a great value

Overall:

I wish I could afford more Apogee products

Best Input Device hands down.

| Review By: Smitty-c3F2p | 4 months, 2 weeks ago

Features:

Pretty straight forward. It's an input device, but the gain setting is important so you can adjust depending on our guitar pickups.

Quality:

Sound quality is great considering the medium in which the signal is being recorded (iphone and ipad). Build quality is ok, plastic. Probably could not take real heavy abuse but we shall see.

Value:

It's apogee, so it's pricey. Is it worth the price? Not quite, but since there are no other choices to rival the sound quality- I don't really have a choice

Overall:

It works with Jamup, Sonoma 4 track, and Garage Band. It does not work with Amplitube. I think the limitation is not the device, but the apps and medium to where it's going. You are not going to get professional results from an Ipad. What you will get is nice quality demos - and this device gives you the best conversion going in. Garage band's guitar modeling is good for cleans and terrible for overdrive (fizzy and digital). Jam Up is the best sounding guitar modeling app, but I can't use it to multi track like I can in Garage Band. Sonoma 4 track is where you can really hear how well this device converts to digital. Hopefully more quality apps will surface where I can get the full potential of this device in one app. I like it, but felt is was a tad overpriced.

Great practice interface!

| Review By: Madseason | 5 months, 2 days ago

Features:

Nothing special here but wow it's a really great practice tool for guitarists on the go. I was really shocked at how good it sounds with my IPad 2.

Quality:

Quick setup, works right out of the box with GarageBand. Built fairly sturdy with good cables.

Value:

Don't be fooled by the other interfaces like irig. I bought both and the Jam sounds much better from a tonal standpoint and there is less static, pops and clicks.

Overall:

I couldn't be happier with the money I spent on this interface. It's very mobile and when I travel it's great for practice and getting down ideas. It works very good with Ampkit which was developed by Peavy but the add-ons can get pricy. For what the jam is intended for, it won't let you down. Don't expect to get e same quality as a more expensive interface and you won't be let down. You can download Ampkit from the app store.
