MacBook Pro 15.4" Notebook Computer
Carved from a single block of aluminum, the MacBook Pro 15.4" 2.53Ghz computer is a true engineering achievement. Its unibody enclosure is the product of precise machining. From the thumbscoop to the now-you-see-it-now-you-don't sleep indicator light, no detail is unaccounted for. The end result is a notebook that's not only breakthrough, but thin, light, polished, and refined. The unibody also makes MacBook Pro laptop more durable than ever. So you can throw it in your briefcase or messenger bag and pull it out at an airport, at school, at the office, or on location without a second thought.
The longest-lasting Mac notebook battery ever
Built right into each of this generation of MacBook Pro notebooks is a breakthrough battery that lasts dramatically longer and does so without increasing the size or weight of your MacBook Pro. On a single charge, the battery lasts up to 7 hours and can be recharged up to 1000 times. That's compared with only 200 to 300 times for typical notebooks. Advanced chemistry and Adaptive Charging allows the battery to maintain charging capabilities longer and determines the optimal way to charge the battery's cells. Because the battery lasts up to 5 years, MacBook Pro uses just one battery in the same time a typical notebook uses 3. That makes for less waste. And that, in turn, makes for one environmentally friendly battery.
Graphics in full force
The Apple MacBook Pro reaches a new level of high-speed, high-end game-playing power. Not to mention pure performance for graphics-intensive applications like Aperture and Motion. The power-saving NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics processor inside every MacBook Pro is great for everyday performance, while delivering long battery life.
A display of brilliance
The moment you open your new MacBook Pro you're greeted by glorious, full-screen brightness. But that's only one gleaming quality of the glossy LED-backlit widescreen display. It offers a 60 percent greater color gamut than previous generations for richer, more vibrant colors. Anything you view—including the ultrathin display itself—is a spectacular experience. The seamless glass enclosure makes this display strong and durable. And the display is power efficient and mercury- and arsenic-free, so it's greener than ever.
Even the keyboard is advanced
The rigid aluminum keyboard you get with your Apple MacBook Pro features webbing that has been cut precisely to hold the keys. The keys are curved to perfectly fit fingers for pure typing bliss. The keyboard is also illuminated, so when you're in low-light settings, such as airplanes or conference rooms, you can always see what you're typing.
It's all just clicks
The first thing you might notice about the MacBook Pro's trackpad—or not notice—is the button. The entire trackpad is the button, so you can click anywhere. Without a separate button, the spacious trackpad gives your hands plenty of room to move on the large, silky glass surface. Use two fingers to scroll up and down a page. Pinch to zoom in and out. Rotate an image with your fingertips. Swipe with three fingers to flip through your photo libraries. Swipe with four fingers to show your desktop, view all open windows, or switch applications. If you're coming from a right-click world, you can right-click with two fingers or configure a right-click area on the trackpad. The more you use the Multi-Touch trackpad, the more you'll wonder what you ever did without it.
Each MacBook Pro comes standard with a large hard drive—in this case 250GB of storage capacity, so there's plenty of room for your photo libraries, video projects, and files. These Apple laptops also feature ample high-speed 1066MHz DDR3 memory, with support for up to 8GB of RAM (comes with 4GB), so you can run more applications at once and quickly access your data and media.
Inside this 15.4" MacBook Pro is a fast Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 2.53GHz. The processor is based on groundbreaking 45-nm process technology and advanced Core microarchitecture. With the 1066MHz frontside bus and 3MB of shared L2 cache, your MacBook Pro runs applications faster and more efficiently than ever before.
Ports with possibilities
Every MacBook Pro is ready to work with your iPod, iPhone, digital camera, or external hard drive. If it has a cable, there's a place for it. You'll find two USB 2.0 ports and a FireWire 800 port for connecting faster peripherals. MacBook Pro even recognizes what you plug in, so you don't have to install new drivers.
From camera to computer, in an instant
Transfer your photos and videos to and from your MacBook Pro just as fast as you're able to take them. Built into the 15.4" MacBook Pro is an SD card slot so you can edit and share your photos and digital video on the spot.
Your studio to go
With the latest 802.11n wireless technology built into MacBook Pro, you're always seamlessly and effortlessly connected to the wireless world out there, at home, and at work. MacBook Pro automatically finds available networks and allows you to join them with just one click. Bluetooth capabilities are also built in, so brilliant accessories can become your wireless accomplices. With a built-in battery that lasts longer than ever before, you can do everything you need to do, where you need to do it.
Burn DVDs superfast
After editing and applying the finishing touches to your home movie masterpiece in iMovie and iDVD, use the ultrafast 8x SuperDrive on your MacBook Pro to burn it to DVD. The SuperDrive also writes to double-layer discs (DVDs with nearly 9GB of space), so it's great for backing up data too.

Edit MIDI automation and continuous controller (CC) data through multiple Automation and Controller lanes. Even watch your musical handiwork scroll by in real time during playback.
Transpose with Elastic Pitch
As a complement to Pro Tools software's powerful Elastic Time tempo and time manipulating tool, Pro Tools M-Powered 8 introduces Elastic Pitch, which allows you to effortlessly manipulate or correct the pitch of any audio region in real time. Easily transpose an entire audio region—up or down up to 4 octaves—without affecting its timing or tempo. Fix a less than perfect vocal performance by altering the pitch of individual notes. Or create cool sound effects by linking pitch changes with time compression/expansion using the Varispeed algorithm.
Comp Tracks to Perfection
Creating flawless performances is easier than ever. Pro Tools M-Powered 8 music software comes with new track compositing workflows, enabling you to quickly and easily piece together the best possible version of a performance from multiple recording passes. Simply loop record multiple takes on an Audio track, view and audition the takes in Playlist view, select the best parts from the tracks' alternate playlists, and copy them to the main playlist with a single click. You can also rate regions to help identify which takes you like the most when compositing playlists.
New editing and mixing capabilities
Pro Tools M-Powered 8 equips your system with even more editing and mixing capabilities. Lock regions to the timeline to prevent them from being inadvertently moved or edited. Use the Automation and Controller lanes to view and edit track automation (such as volume, pan, and plug-in automation) and MIDI CC data (such as velocity, pitch bend, and modulation) without changing track views. And with 10 inserts to play with per track, you can now use more plug-ins than ever before.
Expanded hardware control
Pro Tools M-Powered 8 deepens its control surface integration, enabling you to map plug-in parameter controls to almost any encoder on your controller and access each track's 10 inserts.
2 KRK Rockit G2 Powered Studio Monitors
KRK's Rokit G2 (Generation 2) powered studio monitor delivers amazing performance and accuracy for the home or project studio at a very accessible price. The G2 Rokit has radically curved edges which virtually eliminate diffraction and provides a wider sweet spot. The Rokit G2 also features a great looking cabinet with a front-firing bass port and KRK's trademark yellow glass-aramid composite woofer and soft-domed tweeters. Dual high-power amplifiers in each speaker and active crossovers provide smooth and accurate reproduction. The Rokit monitor has the most accurate response curve in its class ensuring that you hear all of the details in your mix.
The KRK RokitG2 Series takes value-priced monitors to a different performance level. All of the great stuff that Rokit monitors have been known for (front-firing bass port, soft-domed tweeter, glass aramid composite yellow cone) are still there, but the G2 Rokit studio monitors feature refined voicing and a curved baffle that looks great, reduces diffraction, and provides even better monitoring accuracy.
No Pain With Gain
Why compromise gain structure to achieve a comfortable listening level? As musicians and recording people themselves, KRK asked that question too. So each Generation 2 Rokit monitor comes with an Input Volume Control that provides an adjustable gain range from +6dB to -30dB. Just another way the Rokit lets you focus on your mix, and not on compatibility concerns.
Catch A Wave, For A 3D Mix
Recessed tweeters may look the same, but they don't perform the same. KRK has designed a superior tweeter wave guide for the Rokit monitor that provides optimal high frequency pattern control and focuses the sound outward, away from the cabinet. More conventional designs direct sound along the plane of the cabinet where waveform interaction can cause phase problems and increased diffraction. KRK knows a properly engineered high frequency wave guide is a critical component to great sound, and one key to KRK's award winning performance.
You've Got Connections
At KRK, the focus is your mix. But it doesn't stop at creating accurate monitors. KRK appreciates the need for monitors that not only sound great but work easily into your particular set up. That's why you'll find plenty of input options with your Rokit monitor, sure to accommodate any studio environment. So if it's RCA, quarter-Inch (balanced/unbalanced) or XLR inputs you require, Rockit has got you covered.
Even More Accurate Than Before
KRK took a great monitor series and made it better. KRK's engineers and listening panel took the Generation 2Rokits' speaker voicing to even more accurate levels. What you hear is what you are intended to hear, coloration is not part of the spec. This performance is brought to you by drivers that are custom-designed by KRKs world-class studio monitor engineering team, for clear, low-distortion performance.
While your Generation 2 Rokit leaves the factory voiced to demanding specs, KRK also knows that no 2 rooms "sound" the same. As such, each Rokit monitor comes equipped with a High Frequency Level Control. This feature provides specific adjustment of high frequency output most commonly affected by room acoustics. It's just one extra level of control that KRK gives you to ensure the most accurate mix for your particular room's acoustics.
Don't Be Square, Curves Ahead
The Gen 2 Rockit studio monitor looks different, so it can sound better, and in a wider "sweet spot." Traditional rectangular speakers suffer from diffraction as sounds leaving the edge of the cabinet are reflected back into the original sound field, and at different time intervals. This phase distortion creates a "narrow" or "boxy" sound. The Generation 2 Rokit series eliminates this issue with radically engineered curved surfaces, so diffraction is virtually eliminated. Simply put, you'll get better sound in a wider area.
Let's Be Up Front
Other monitors have ports on the back of the cabinet. These rear-firing ports tend to create bass coupling with walls and corners amplifying low frequency information which will color your mix. The KRK Generation 2 Rokit studio monitor's design includes front-firing ports, which are just the right shape and taper to reduce port turbulence. You'll appreciate the clean and accurate bass performance this approach delivers, even at high SPL's.
A great sounding monitor doesn't stop with a great cabinet and custom drivers. KRKs true biamplified amplifier system provides discrete low-distortion power for each driver. While the active crossover systems provide smooth and accurate frequency response, and again, accurate diffraction control.
