OVERVIEW

Cardioid condenser for professional studios and broadcast environments.

This premium electret condenser microphone is engineered to meet the most critical acoustic requirements of professional recording, broadcast and live sound. The AT4041 cardioid studio condenser microphone features a smooth, extended frequency response with a slight rise in the high-frequency region and a transformerless output for very high SPL-handling capability. A unique combination of audio excellence and moderate cost, the AT4041 is a rugged microphone housed in a case of turned brass with black chrome plating for durability and low reflectivity. The element back plate holds a fixed charge and has been aged to provide energy stabilization. The surface of the back plate is precision milled to ensure maximum charge linearity, resulting in a reduction in both frequency response peaks and diaphragm break-up distortion.

FEATURES
  • Smooth, extended frequency response
  • Slight rise in the high-frequency region
  • Ideal for drum overheads, acoustic guitar, piano, horns and under snare
  • Low-mass diaphragm improves transient response
  • Transformerless circuitry virtually eliminates low-frequency distortion
  • State-of-the-art design and manufacturing techniques

Comments about Audio-Technica AT4041 Cardioid Microphone:

I love these mics and use them for a variety of applications. Overhead mics for use on a drum kit. Excellent choir mics. Ambient room / audience mics. Great for acoustic piano and many other acoustic instruments. My favorite small diaphram condenser mic. Proper placement of a pair of these mics will give you excellent reproduction of small, medium and large ensembles. Any serious recording engineer whether in-studio or on-location will benefit greatly by having these babies in your toolbox. I encourage you to experiment.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT4041 Cardioid Microphone:

          They're amazing.
I've relied on my pair of 4041's since 2001 and alongside a couple of Neumann184's have never left my side, in fact when I need more mid to high range, I prefer them over the pricey but "choclatey" Neumann's. "The girls" have recorded choirs, drums (close and overhead), glockenspiels, guitars, podcasts, birds, grass and airshows and most recently after 15 years of reliable service, they've been on interview/focus group duty recording a group of 8 people to 2 cams, and really impressed an agency with their small size on video and their large and sturdy sound which falls off smoothly when interviewees were placed fairly equidistant. Of course in interview, they do pick up more ambience than the usual hypercardoid choice but for economy of kit and range of uses, I confidently recommend an AT4041 pair as basic kit for any audio setup.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT4041 Cardioid Microphone:

This is the best mike we have period. Great live and even better in the studio. It does have one drawback though. It is so sensitive that breath sounds become a problem. Not unsolvable but it takes it off the map in the studio for vocals. However for guitar and harmonica we have nothing that compares. It is so good that I rarely plug in my Taylor anymore

Comments about Audio-Technica AT4041 Cardioid Microphone:

These are really fantastic mics for all sorts of recording applications. I have used them as drum overheads, room mics, choir mics and they have handled it all very well. They are not as bright or as harsh as other mics which makes them much more useful for things like vocals where too much high frequency is a problem. Great to buy them in the stereo pair.

              Super Microphone

Comments about Audio-Technica AT4041 Cardioid Microphone:

Great mic for low bass singers. This is the best bass mic I have ever used. I can hit those notes that rattle the floor or sing higher harmony with equal clarity. This is what our whole group uses for all parts. I will not buy another mic! I prefer it over the Shure SM-81. This mic is very crispy yet has a rock solid bottom.

              A superior mic!

              By Peytonmusic

              from WA

Comments about Audio-Technica AT4041 Cardioid Microphone:

After taking the advice of some very seasoned pros, I bought one of these for recording acoustic instruments in my small studio. I haven't found anything like it in it's price range. I just bought another one to hang overhead to mic a drum kit for live performance. This is the only reccommendation I have ever written and I just feel compelled to do so. Don't take my word for it. Start calling up pro studios and ask them. They will most likey back up Audio Technica in general and this mic particulalrly as a terrific value.

Use the AT 4041 to make anything sound better

              By Anonymous

Comments about Audio-Technica AT4041 Cardioid Microphone:

Ever since purchasing the AT4041 I have had amazing results. Stuck inside a 9-ft Kawai grand or on top of the 10" and 11" Congas I got a sound I never expected from a mic at this price. My snare and toms never sounded better, either. I recommend adding at least a half dozen to every church or worship center.
