Perfect for the Price

Features:

These headphones are a great buy.  They feature a nice heavy duty cord that is a great length for home studio use.  They feature a 1/8" plug wich comes with a screw on adapter to go to 1/4", wich is a nice feature.  They have plenty of sound isolation to eliminate bleedthrough during recording, and have a great flat EQ sound wich is perfect for monitor mixing, if You must use a set of headphones.  The highs are crisp and clean and will allow You to hear what You need to hear in those all important mixes.  The lows are clean as well and not exaggerated like traditional headphones.  If You do hip hop or rap these may not be perfect for You, because many engineers like a little extra bass in their monitors because the styles are bass driven. These do not sound as good as others I've listened to, but they are by far the best I've heard in this price range.

Quality:

These headphones are built well but I do have a couple negatives to go along with the positives.  First the good.  They are constructed nice and seem pretty durable.  The cord is nice and thick and looks like it could take some abuse, wich is great, cause I step and roll over cables all the time.  The connections are gold and built well.  There is padding on all the important parts.  The plastic looks decent and not cheap like some.  The negatives are that the ears are a bit more shallow than I would like, and don't fit entirely around my ear like others I've tried.  Over a long period of time I can see these getting uncomfortable for those who wear glasses.  The padding also doesn't feel as high end as it could be, and although I havn't  had them long enough to see it peel I could see it drying and happening down the road.

Value:

By far these are well worth the money I paid for them, and If You don't have the money to blow on a 300-400 dollar pair I'd pick these up in a heart beat.  I'm very happy with them, and the whole point was to be able to mix better when I have to be in a quiet environment.

Overall:

Great Value, Great Sound, Great Features, and I'm happy with them overall.

ATH-M45 Studio Monitor Headphones

I picked up a pair of these at sale price and I couldn't be more pleased.
These headphones are amazingly clear especially for this price range.

The flat, extended frequency response is terrific for precise mixing.

You can't always have a pair of monitor speakers available so the
ATH-M45's make a great alternative.

I'm happy enough with them that I would pick

up another pair for full MSRP.

Enjoy

Quality:

Under typical use these headpones should last quite a while.

I wouldn't recommend being rough on any audio equipment.

Value:

It would be difficult to find a better pair of headphones for the price.

Overall:

This product works great for mixing in my studio.

I have purchased two pair of these and both literally went to pieces. They use poor materials.  The plastic comes apart and exposes the foam. Also the wires to the earpieces are exposed and easily lose their connections and are not user friendly for repair. Don't waste your money. The M50 set id a much superior headphone. You get what you pay for.

These headphones are UNBELIEVABLE! What an amazing sound quality they put out. Just like one of the other reviews said, you will hear things in the music that you have never heard before. I listened to some light jazz at a medium to low volume and could clearly hear every sound of the brushes on the snare (never even knew they were in there before). I could clearly hear guitar and bass string noises/slides. An amazing set of headphones! You can't go wrong buying a pair of these.
