M4000S Mic Review

Features:

An on and off switch. Metal casing w/mesh screen color black. They feel well built, and respond well with no ambient noises.

Quality:

Of high quality construction and sound great.

Value:

Unbelievable.

Overall:

I ran them through two 15" yamaha Pa's and cross compared with Shure 57 and sm58. At different volumes and different singers, they performed excellectly. In some ways the were favored in vocals, but the sures were a little warmer and provided better response on micing the amps. The area of response is narrow in much like a shot gun mic, which makes feedback control easy. The sound quality is a close second to the more expensive shures. These are in my opinion a fantastic value. My cables worked out of the box, however these cords are of moderate quality. Having said that, I could care less because the mics are an awesome buy at this price.

Nice set up

Features:

I all ready had one M4000S, so this helped to add two more mics to my Karaoke setup.

Quality:

Mics put out decent enough sound and the people were very happy. It was a tight space, so occasionally got some feedback, but otherwise worked well.

Value:

For what I needed it for, Karaoke, these were great. You didn't spend and arm and a leg on top quality that people might drop. Perfect for this purpose.

Overall:

Really loved the price/performance especially for use with karaoke. I didn't spend so much money that I would be worried if someone dropped it. Yet, they produced a decent enough sound that everyone was really happy with the setup. From the moment the first singer got up there, there was a stream of people that wanted to have their moment in the spot. We even had one guy who did a pretty good Roy Orbison.

Mics, cables, and stands work well for the price.

My only complaint is the clips that came with the stands. They are plastic and you have to force the mic into the clip until it stretches. They do seem to go back to their original shape so far.

Stands are solid, mics are decent. Cables scared me because they look and feel cheap, but so far so good.

Not the best

Features:

The mics are decent in their cardroid pattern. Music stands are well built.

Quality:

The expander for the mic stands is okay. The cables are pretty cheap but work. The main issue is the mics, both went out after only a few weeks. You get what you pay for.

Value:

You might be better off paying a little more for decent mics instead of paying this much just for two stands and cables.

Overall:

Poor quality mics. Decent stands and kind of cheap cables. I would totally be fine with the price I paid if the mics lasted more than a month.

Awesome value!

I purchased these mics for karaoke gigs, and they work really well.     They seem to be pretty solid considering the price, and have held up well so far.     I run them through a basic Behringer mixer and they sound just as good as my Nady mic that was much more expensive.     The xlr cables feel a little on the cheap side, but they work well, and the stands are just fine for my use.     I think they would be perfect for a band just getting started.     I haven't mic'd an amp or drums with them yet, but for basic vocal use they work great.

I would advise to tape the mic and cables together, because they seem to fall apart from the connection during my karaoke gigs quite often.     They don't pick up well when far away from the singer and have to be held close while singing into them, but on the plus side, they don't pick up ambient noise so it's a bit of a trade off.

The construction seems very good for this price point.     It feels like a Shure 58.     The sound quality isn't quite on par with the Shure, which is like the industry standard, but they cost like 1/3 the price! You could have a couple of these just hanging around as backups in a professional setting.

Price wise you cannot beat this package!
