I bought two of these microphones for my studio and they're held up by a couple of DR Pro boom stands, which by the way are the sturdiest stands ever. These mics are used as overheads in my setup; mainly. But, I also use them along with my Audio Technica at2050 to mic acoustic guitars, vocals, and even my school band and orchestra. These mics are just as good as the high end microphones, such as the AKG condensers and the Rodes and even the Shures (SM81). I know because I have used these other condensers as well, but for the crystal sounds, the superb value( I can tell that these babies are going to last a while, because I've already droped them a few times and they don't even have scuff marks on them), and an overall score of 5.0 out 5. well, I'd just have to say that if you don't buy a pair of these right now, you are throwing your money down the toilet on other microphones.

This mic is a little light on the low end, which makes it perfect for a hi-hat or ride cymbal, because you don't have to use EQ to get that gross low ringing out. As overheads I preferred Oktava MC012's which pick up the low end a lot better, but like I said, this is an awesome hi-hat or close-cymbal mic.

    I'm Very Impressed

      Best Uses

Comments about Audix Fusion 15 Mic:

After seeing this mic offered as a Stupid Deal of the Day, I did some checking and found solid reviews on a variety of sites and forums. Since I had been considering new condenser mics as overheads for mu drum kit, I decided to take a chance that this would be what I needed and bought 2. These mics are being used in our practice space to make sure the drums are in the in ears monitor mix, and are being used live. These do a great job of handling both situations, and impressively so. These mics have done a great job of picking up the shimmer of my cymbals, as well as picking up the toms and snare.

I am so glad that I bought these mics, and I would recommend them highly for anyone mic'ing a drum kit.

Comments about Audix Fusion 15 Mic:

For the past year I've been using these mics as overheads for my drums in live applications. Recently however Ive been using them for recording and they sound fantastic. Other reviews have said that "for the money" these are great, and though that is true, money aside these are still great mics. They're an all around great condensor mic and a quality audix product.

Got these a few years ago. They sound great on drums, hats, guitar amps, acoustic guitars, piano, and are decent vocal mics as well.

Comments about Audix Fusion 15 Mic:

These mics are great. I rented an Audix Fusion 6 piece kit for home recording and used them for the drums and used one of these F15s for the guitar cab and it was excellent on both the cab and the overhead for the drums. Man did these drums and guitasr come out clear! For this value I had to pick one up. Very good mics.

      Amazing Microphone

      By Shure SM58

      from Los Angeles area

Comments about Audix Fusion 15 Mic:

This is an amazing microphone for the price. I'm a professional drummer for a living and I bought two of these to use as overheads live. They sound crisp and clear and pick up all your drums excellently. I find that I don?t really need to mic up my toms. The F15?s pick them up perfectly too along with my cymbals. I also use an Audix i5 on my snare and an Audix D6 on my bass drum. With these 4 microphones, I?m good to go baby! Audix does not get the credit or exposure they deserve for the quality of their products.Try the Audix OM5 or Audix OM2 vocal mics if you are a singing drummer like me. It just doesn?t get any better.

      great for hi-hats

      By Ben K.

      from North Carolina

Comments about Audix Fusion 15 Mic:

I purchased this mic for use on my hi-hat cymbals and I'm very impressed with the sound quality. I've only used it a few times so I'm not sure of the durability, but it has a good solid feel. I'd recommend it to anyone that wants a decent cymbal mic on a budget.

      Fantastic Mic for price range...

Comments about Audix Fusion 15 Mic:

I received these in the fusion drum kit mic package... Man I was impressed how well these performed in all kinds of applications. The rest of the mic kit was just ok but these things have really served me well. Great clarity in response although a little light on the low end but you shouldn't be using them for low end pickup anyway... Great buy.
