I bought two of these microphones for my studio and they're held up by a couple of DR Pro boom stands, which by the way are the sturdiest stands ever. These mics are used as overheads in my setup; mainly. But, I also use them along with my Audio Technica at2050 to mic acoustic guitars, vocals, and even my school band and orchestra. These mics are just as good as the high end microphones, such as the AKG condensers and the Rodes and even the Shures (SM81). I know because I have used these other condensers as well, but for the crystal sounds, the superb value( I can tell that these babies are going to last a while, because I've already droped them a few times and they don't even have scuff marks on them), and an overall score of 5.0 out 5. well, I'd just have to say that if you don't buy a pair of these right now, you are throwing your money down the toilet on other microphones.

This mic is a little light on the low end, which makes it perfect for a hi-hat or ride cymbal, because you don't have to use EQ to get that gross low ringing out. As overheads I preferred Oktava MC012's which pick up the low end a lot better, but like I said, this is an awesome hi-hat or close-cymbal mic.

Comments about Audix Fusion f15 Mic:

I bought these to replace an MXL 603S that was damaged in a very minor drop (no real protection on the VC due to very thin screen) and am very pleased that they sound so much cleaner. Why did I put up with the MXLs for so long (they were free)? Using them for drum overheads so the 100hz rolloff is fine. Very clean, clear and crisp. Audix mics are also built like tanks so these should last for many years (wouldn't have a problem using them in a live situation, either).

Great bargain stotd was too good to pass up. I record live band practice and use this mic to pick up the guitar amp. Worked perfectly. I plan to buy another.

Have only used this at 2 events in the last week I've owned it. One for outdoor drum overhead and the other for a mandolin. Sounded just fine and was able to pick those instruments up.

This mic sounds great for recording acoustics, not a big fan on the vocals but acoustic sounds great.

Comments about Audix Fusion f15 Mic:

I purchased this item as a Stupid Deal about eight months ago, and I am glad that I did. I expected the f15 to be a solid percussion mic, and it definitely is. Putting it into a cajon's sound port resulted in a crisp, clear, and detailed representation of that instrument's sound. Surprisingly enough, I also found that it did a good job in capturing lead electric guitar lines when placed about five inches from the amp's speaker. Close-miking resulted in a sound that was a bit too punchy for me, though it might work for others. Overall, this could be a useful mic for anyone recording percussion (especially hand percussion), and it may also have some unexpected additional uses, depending on the user's tastes and equipment.

Used it to record myself at home playing bagpipe practice chanter and claves. Mike sounds fine; particularly good on highs from claves. Picks up sound from metronome even when placed behind mike. .

I have two of these along with AKG C430's and a Shure SM94 in my mic case and love them. They work well as drum and choir overheads, on hi hats, violins / fiddles. Well worth the cash at full price and it would be Stupid not to get one when they are the Stupid Deal of the Day.
