This thing will ruin your show! Was playing at a club and once I got turned up the bass started making the cd players wig out and skip. I would never trust this equipment again at a show. Very unreliable when you need it most.

I even had the unit in its foam prodigy case, did not help.

Upon purchasing my unit, a fellow DJ has the same one with no problems. The first one I got unpackged it it didnt work. The store gave me a replacement which in the middle of a gig power went out. Got it back up and the left side went out. After searching several stores they got me a replacement. This unit had been working fine until @ the end of making a cd the left side has went out. So upset.

I have had to have service on this unit for a second time. Not only did it take over a month of down time due to shipping warranty information and shipping labels but 7X2 Days in equipment shipping across the US from CA to NY and back only to find out my FIRST GIG, FIRST CD in Left drive (NON REPAIRED SIDE) went out and I was late in programming at a major event. I play Jazz, Lounge, Classical, New Age, World, Neo-Soul and do not use this unit for scratch mix and hard play.A wonderful concept in technology, very unreliable. At first the CD reader on the right side would sometimes display "error" and then after ejecting the CD and sliding it back into the same CD player the unit would play the CD. This lead to a complete "error" read and mis-track of that drive as in the past I had tried to clean the drive using professional drive cleaners but was shut down seven minutes into a four hour set I was forced to play the entire remainder with one drive. I don't like to nail bite when I use my (professional equipment) my clients deserve more.. B-52 uses cheap laser tracking equipment in this unit I would NEVER buy another product using their optics.

The B-52 product is great at first, but is bound to mess up the more you play with it! I can't recommend it at allAs of now, I'm experiencing crossfader issues (I'm a heavy scratcher), disc read errors, jammed buttons, and non-working turntables! I really can't refer this product to anyone. If I did not use a program that runs through a labtop, I would be stuck and done for about 10/11 gigs in the past 3 weeks!Also, let me add that I've tried calling the repair place for about 3 weeks now (about 7 times a day) and have yet to even receive anyone's call! and they have 3 numbers you can reach them at. It's almost as if no one even works their anymore! If your a DJ and serious about it, stick with pioneer and/or the technics.

I bought one in Nov. 2007. The very next month at a gig a cd became stuck in the cd player. Tried everything to eject the cd. I had to continue the gig with only half of the unit functioning. Returned it to place of purchase and no one there could get the cd to eject so I was given another brand new unit. Apparently, B-52 knew there were problems with cd's becoming stuck in the cd players. This is why there is a stated procedure for ejecting cd's that become stuck. However, the procedure only works sometimes. In 2008, the same thing happened. The unit also developed a short in the receptacle connection that connects to the power cord. The unit was out of warranty by this time. The cd reader on the left side would sometimes display "error" and then after ejecting the cd and sliding it back into the same cd player the unit would play the cd. This unit has a tremendous amount of desirable features but because it is so unreliable I would not recommend anyone to buy one of these. With its reputation, I was surprised that B-52 would put an unproven product on the market as this. I would buy another Prodigy in a heartbeat if B-52 got all the bugs out. If this unit performed as it was supposed to, it would be one of the best DJ mixer/cd players on the market. This unit is a joy to operate when it is functioning properly, but can cause nightmares for a DJ in middle of a gig.

i own one but the only problem i have so far with my is that i can not play two (2) speakers... every time i tried, it kept making a loud noise but i do not know if i made all the cnnection the right way or not.i am going to keep another two (2) weeks if it keep making the same noise i am going to return it.overall i am learning how to use it and the connection too before i take it for a gig

Please and I do repeat PLEASE don't buy this unit. I had nothing but problems and the customer service is not that good. The effects randomly turn on which totally kills your set and sometimes the drive will drag a bit. Do yourself a favor. Hold on to what you got for a few more gigs the do what you know in your heart you should do and go and cop the Pioneer set up!!! This unit is flawed and buggy and should be discontinued!!!

Mixer section DIED mid-gig. No warning. No audio to/from any source. Out of warranty by one month. I would not recommend this for gigs, as there was no warning at all, and since the direct CD outs rely on the mixer, we couldn't use the backup mixer! Immediately pulled from my equipment schedule...

Great looking unit with tons of features, however my experience with the prodigy fx was by far the worst. Serato is said to be easily compatible with the prodigy, but that wasn't the case for me. Serato worked but it didn't sync properly with the bmp controller. Recently, during a gig my unit wouldn't even turn on! It would turn on for a spilt second and that's only if i wiggled the power cord. I only had this unit for 6 months. The Prodigy is not a reliable system, don't buy it!
