This is one item that I do not ever want to be without. I don't even want to remember how I managed before I got it. I sometimes record metal bands and if I have something I need to tell the singer, I can switch his headphones to the other channel during a vocal break. All the while the other members are still recording and hearing only the music. This amp is the most indispensable piece in my studio. I have it fed from my interface and then my monitors hook up to it.
With 2 input channels and 4 output channels, I can easily switch any given listener to hear my voice though channel 2 while the others are still recording and listening on channel 1.
This headphone amp provides plenty of rumbling lows while keeping the highs bight and clear.
Had this headphone amp been over $200, I still would have purchased one. This will forever be in my studio.

I used this to record my 4 piece band. It was nice because it allowed 2 different headphone mixes, so the drummer could hear more of the guitars, and the guitarists and bassist could hear the overall mix. The only problem is the output is pretty weak... it does not push out a lot of volume. Do not make the mistake of trying to push the volume over the point of clipping... this caused my 2nd channel to go out. If you do not need the headphones to be at really high levels then this works great... otherwise you might want to shy away from this and look for a better alternative

Comments about Behringer AMP800 MiniAMP 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:

I've had it for 4 years already.
Several reviewers point to the fact that one channel on one of the inputs goes out after awhile, well, this happenned to me, first the A input and then the B was affected! But wait... I think I have the solution so read on:
I almost bought another one! but some curiosity saved the day.
Pulled the amp apart, several small phillips screw, etc. There are a couple of ribbon cables inside, disconnect them and connect again. Put device together again, presto.
Reason: the contacts fail due to heat over a period of time, when the signal is too strong the voltage seemingly affects the connection leading to believe that something blew off inside, when in reality its just a faulty contact.

Mine is just as new after that, if it happens againI'll know what to do.

Thanks Behringer for an excellent device!

Comments about Behringer AMP800 MiniAMP 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:

The headphone amp works really well in the studio. I like the led indicator lights. The user manual could be better. It took me awhile to figure out what knob did what. The sound quality is good. The only problem I found with the amp, we could not get enough volume out. If you like your headphone loud this amp going to be in the mid range.

If you need a head-amp for tracking, get it. Its got all the ins and outs you will need, plus decent metering. Would not use to mix, but that is not its intended purpose. Kinda wish it was a metal box, but I'm not travelling with it, just for use in the studio. Good product, great price, does what it sys it does

Small in size but not in power. Have four sets of headphones hooked up and it gives clean sound with plenty of headroom.

        Seems ok but looks cheap

        from San Francisco, CA

Comments about Behringer AMP800 MiniAMP 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:

I bought this headphone amp on sale from Musicians friend about 2 years ago as an emergency headphone amp for a session that was coming up. It worked great for the first 6 months and then one channel died.. and then another... and then another started working intermittently. At this point the unit is completely useless to me. I guess I got my money's out of it though for less than $50

Comments about Behringer AMP800 MiniAMP 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:

I bought one of these so our 5 piece bluegrass band could do a cd, it worked great, we had 2 sound guys and the five of us plugged in, routed it from mains and back to monitors. Lots of flexibility. Only wish it was not plastic. I hope we don't drop in the future. Sound quality was clear and plenty loud.

        Not bad, but...

        By Bad_Fader

        from Boise, ID USA

Comments about Behringer AMP800 MiniAMP 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier:

I bought this because I needed a cheap headphone amp. It has some nice features, and could be fairly versatile. The only downside is that it adds a LOT of hiss to the signal. Not a deal-breaker since I don't mix under cans, but will take some getting used to.
