I picked this baby up used on here and saved my self a good chunk of change.  Aside from not shipping with a power cable (which was easily remedied) the mixer preforms exactly the way it is demo'd and advertised to.  Set up was a little tricky as most of the buttons need to be midi mapped so in the end its an intermediate level product.  It is a touch fragile (mostly plastic parts) so you dont want to be carting this baby around without some sort of case.  Functionally the Jog wheels could be a little more responsive IMO but still a good buy for the price.

I just bought this product a week ago, I tried to install it on my computer but I found out that the ASIO drivers does not work on Windows Vista YET, eventhough I found out on some pages that some users could install it under the compatibility feature on Vista but It didn't work for me. Then I found out that some Intel Core Duo processors doesn't work YET with the ASIO drivers of the BCD3000. I think it's not fair that either this site or others sites that sell this product warn users about this issues. That's why I write this review. I tested the product on a single core processor running on Win Xp and it was everything I expected. Now I'm just waiting for the new Win Vista and Core Duo supported ASIO drivers to use the product on my brand new laptop

Big Disappointment

I purchased the BCD3000 for a mobile DJ setup. This looked like the perfect compliment to Traktor. I wanted to connect an Ipod and a mic as well. After a couple of weeks on various forums I've come to find out there's not much of a fix for the problems I'm having. The mic will not work with a Mac. I've changed the midi settings using 3rd party software (huge pain in the rear) but it still doesn't work. I can get it to barely work with a mic amp. After about 30 mins of play the sound starts to chop. Rebooting fixes this, but who wants that to happen during a gig. The other features work great, but this just is not reliable enough to trust during a paying gig. I'm headed back for a 3-channel mixer.

At this price I thought I was getting a toy, not a real peice of equipment. I was very surprised to find that this is a very well designed and most importantly fun peice of equipment. The free version of Traktor is very limited and you are bound to want the full version but they give you a hefty discount on the upgrade. It's also compatible with tons of other software so the sky is the limit. I'm so glad I opted to spend the extra money for the 3000. I have a feeling that I would not be this happy with the BCD2000.
