I've had this unit for a year and bought it before reading the reviews...after reading them I started to worry. Turns out, I had nothing to be concerned with. This DI rocks! I got the DI so that I could split the audio from my laptop (used for electronic sound sources) between the FOH mixer and my monitor mixer during live shows and also for practicing at home, and it works like a champ...clean and quiet. The only time I've had audio issues is when I had to replace the laptop's power supply temporarily with a not quite right spare power supply...the correct replacement solved the issue. Battery lasts for a long time (I don't use the phantom power on the DI). I haven't replaced the battery yet, and I've left it on overnight several times. If used properly (read the manual) and the source has a good, clean power source, there should be no issues with the DI.

Since about 50% of the reviews here have this dual active DI box rated as good (and the other 50% rate is as less-than-desirable), I figured I'd try one out for myself. Well, I'd put the Behringer DI20 squarely in the LESS-THAN-DESIRABLE review category.I typically use a (wonderful) Countryman Type 85 active DI box (owned by the church), but I wanted to have my own dual-channel active DI to run my TLSE through when playing at gigs outside our church. The Behringer DI20 buzzed like crazy (even with both settings on the ground-lift). We're not talking about "buzzing to the point of being totally unable to hear my guitar signal", but "buzzing to the point the sound guy and drummer (monitoring via headphones) were ready to kill me."I returned the DI20 and will now buy a Countryman Type 85 (and start saving to buy a second Countryman Type 85 later on.)

Comments about Behringer DI20 Ultra DI 2-Channel Active DI Box/Splitter:
Good, not great. Requires a 48v phantom power supply, if you have that it's very good. Pass through would be nice, it would simplify plugging devices into the mixer and an amp at the same time, but that's not a big deal.
Comments about Behringer DI20 Ultra DI 2-Channel Active DI Box/Splitter:
Great lil DI for the money. I love the fact that it is active. Works best on a stereo Keyboard signal. No Problems with it at all. I was definately designed for the stero Keyboard signal.
Comments about Behringer DI20 Ultra DI 2-Channel Active DI Box/Splitter:
My advice is, keep a couple of these in your back pocket.
Awesome little box for single inputs. We use it mainly for unbalanced-balanced conversion, and having an active circuit and phantom power is a great benefit. Lots of flexibility for bridging, padding, and ground lift.
Other people have noted that it's really not a two-input box, there's too much crosstalk. And it might be a little more fragile than some other DI's - however, we used ours 3-4 years, ~15 gigs a year, before one of the 1/4 jacks broke. Rather than fix it, we'll just replace it.
Definitely a steal at the price offered when this review was written, especially with free shipping.

Comments about Behringer DI20 Ultra DI 2-Channel Active DI Box/Splitter:
If you want this product to work you nned a box for each instument. Have not tried to use as a splitter but the two channel mode is not that great. Like I said one signal per box and it works great.
Comments about Behringer DI20 Ultra DI 2-Channel Active DI Box/Splitter:
I have four of these units, some travel with a group, others are for local stage. We've had them two years and found that the balanced line out pins seem to pull out. Unfortunately the warranty didn't cover replacement. Also have had some crosstalk between channels. Did like the price and they work when passive units fail. Generally a better idea to buy separate units for each instrument.
Comments about Behringer DI20 Ultra DI 2-Channel Active DI Box/Splitter:
I've had this box for a few years now and only keep it around for EXTREME emergencies. It has had many problems with crosstalk between the two channels and yes, a constant hiss keeps finding its way into the mix. It's an ok investment for garage bands on a budget and want to save some space.
Comments about Behringer DI20 Ultra DI 2-Channel Active DI Box/Splitter:
This direct box has been in use for me for a few years now. I once had it used on a weekly basis. I haven't had a problem with them yet. I mostly use the phantom power from my board.
Comments about Behringer DI20 Ultra DI 2-Channel Active DI Box/Splitter:
Used this unit several years ago. Got it back out today. Ran a small mixer thru one channel and an SR16 thru the other into the house system. Had some hiss, flipped the ground lift, and it got quiet. Works great and was thinking about buying another one when I saw all these bad reviews.
Comments about Behringer DI20 Ultra DI 2-Channel Active DI Box/Splitter:
I've used two of these units for several years now. I can say that, from my experiences, it works best with "hot" signals. Anytime I have tried to plug in a bass guitar or anything else with a very low output signal you have to crank up your gain and you get bad hiss. The signal to noise ratio is not good. When used for very hot sources there is less problems with noise. Right now I am using one to connect the headphone output of a laptop to our PA and it seems to work great as long as I keep the headphone level high on the laptop. It also seems to work well with the stereo output from our keyboard.Over the years I have found myself, at times, disgusted by these units, and other times I am thrilled with thier performance.
