Comments about Behringer DJX750 5-Channel Pro DJ Mixer:
So I got this mixer to replace my old Numark m4 mixer. At first it looked real nice and worked like a dream. Now it;s been less than a year and Im having multiple problems with it. Not durable... The faders starting to bleed and one time ch4 just didnt want 2 work. simply no sound came out of ch4. The FX select/Parameter knob is barely working now, i cant even use the fx in my mix anymore because it;s hard to control them now.overall this mixer is like a toy that looks very nice. other than that it really sucks, if it was a better quality product Iwould give it a better rating. Dont waste your money because it will let you down at some point!
Comments about Behringer DJX750 5-Channel Pro DJ Mixer:
First off, I wrote the first review below... I came on here to buy a second board and remembered I had written that review. I'm a full-time DJ. Mobile, club, whatever... this is what I do for a living. I use Technic MK5's with Torq and a Macbook Pro. I spin mostly Top 40, R&B, Rap, Hip-Hop, etc... I'm a 'utility' DJ (meaning: I play what whoever's paying me wants). My gear HAS to be good because that's the only way my kids eat! Originally I had some fears with this mixer (mainly because of the name), but over the last year and literally 100's of events and countless hours later, this board continues to impress me if not for anything else - its simplicity. I can't get past the simple layout of this board. This is THE board to have as a 'standard' board due to its ease of use factor.Features: Its features are so basic... There is nothing fancy about this board. Just a good, solid mixer that performs night after night after night. I don't use the effects or the bpm counters... However, I do like the EQ parameters where I can EQ out a little of this or a little of that. To me, most mixers have a really steep slope for EQ roll-off where this mixer does not. Very smooth EQ section, and with the kill switches who needs a steep roll-off?Quality: I was (and still am sometimes) worried about the jacks breaking. I use all Monster cabling and if you know the brand, you know that their tips are slightly larger and cups slightly tighter. I usually worry about the master out rca plugs every time I unplug, but they're still noise free.Value: I'm probably going to buy two now that the price is so low!Overall: This should be the #1 recommended board for anyone getting into DJing. Forget the big brands...The BAD: 1. Master volume fader lock. ALL DJ mixers (not just this one) should have a master volume fader lock on them. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to be jamming during a set, slip my hand the wrong way, and blast the volume to max... Talk about embarrassing! Even something as simple as a screw-down piece on top of the master slider. Or make the master volume into a knob...? 2. XLR master out jacks. Enough said. (If Behringer would put the master output section of their higher priced DJ mixer onto this board I think I would never look elsewhere.)3. Microphone volume knob. There is a gain knob, but I find it ridiculously over-powered. I can't even get the knob past about 1/4 turn. 4. The user manual. The manual sucks... How do you use the effects? I don't know... haven't figured it out yet because the instructions on how to use them are uninformative. 5. Effects section. While I have no idea how the actual effects sound (see #4), I can say that whoever designed the effects section didn't collaborate with the person who designed the board. Every other thing about this mixer is straight and to the point...The GOOD:1. Top-side microphone XLR. (Why would you want the mic jack on the back?)2. Microphone ducking knob. This is another feature that EVERY mixer should have. Kudos to Behringer for including it.3. Crossfader. I'll still take this crossfader over a Pioneer any day. To me, the Pioneer crossfaders seem to not stop when you hit them... almost too buttery. On this board though, I feel like the crossfader goes where I want it. Maybe this could change with time and style, but for right now I prefer this fader over Pioneer. It's not a sticky fader by any means. It's smooth without feeling loose. 4. Style. Some might disagree with me, but I really like the style of this board. There aren't a bunch of multi-colored lights to impress people and I appreciate that about this mixer. Bottom line: I would recommend this mixer to anyone. New and old alike. This mixer has everything you need and nothing you don't. I prefer organic mixing over layering and this mixer fits me perfectly. Unless you are mixing a multi-layered, effect driven genre get this mixer!
Comments about Behringer DJX750 5-Channel Pro DJ Mixer:
I bought this because I needed a mixer with at least 4 channels and a booth output quick and didn't have the budget for a last minute gig. Here's a breakdown on the basics:- Cross fader: is smooth and works fine.- Volume faders: volume increases smoothly until you get 3/4 of the way up - then it gets significantly higher all of a sudden. It's especially annoying to me because I mix with the volume faders instead of the crossfader.- No balanced outputs. RCA only- Turning down the EQ's does not kill the sound completely. Not a big deal because what you CAN hear is really faint. - BPM counters: they seem to work fine. I don't use them but tried to pay some attention to it since I knew I'd be writing a review. They typically read the same thing my CD players read. - EFFECTS: when I went through a few of them they worked fine.- OVER-ALL VOLUME IS REALLY LOW. This was the worst part for me personally. I HAD to connect it to an EQ to get more volume out of it and I felt like my smaller 2 channel Denon X100 kicked out way more power. Luckily the venue I used it in was a medium to small space so it worked out ok plugging the mixer to an EQ and plugging my Mackie 450's to the EQ.It's a nice mid-grade mixer. I would recommend it to the bedroom dj or someone on a budget. I would not recommend it for medium to large venues unless your sure you have enough power to compensate through separate EQ's and/or amps. Definitely worth the price I paid. I may keep it as a mixer to use at home or a backup.
Comments about Behringer DJX750 5-Channel Pro DJ Mixer:
First off, I am NOT a Behringer guy. Or Nady. However... I purchased this mixer without reading any reviews or even knowing anything about it. My vehicle was stolen and I was in a pinch to get a mixer for an event the next day. I had a budget and needed to get the 'maximum' I could for my money... I was fairly impressed with the controls and such on the mixer. The crossfader especially. It seems that most 'budget' mixers have faders that drag too much. Definitely not the case with this mixer. I would say that alone sealed the deal for me to take the plunge into Behringer. I haven't messed around with the effects and such yet, but my first impressions (after half a dozen events) are good and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this mixer to anyone on a budget. Good bang for the buck. I marked down in quality because the headphone jack looks and feels super cheap... Once I get a nice mixer again this one will definitely be my #1 backup (or practice mixer at home!).
