Class-D amplifiers (with switch-mode power supplies) drive the custom-designed low frequency drivers for sonically optimized output. The B1800D-PRO also provides you with a much better power-to weight ratio than other 1400W active subwoofers.
Put simply, this cool-running system is much lighter, making it ultra-easy to transport and set up. Its no-compromise design means you get amazingly-deep, chest-pounding bass that will keep the party going all night long. What is Class-D Technology?
Instead of operating relatively continuously like Class AB circuits, Class-D amps switch on and off thousands of times per second, delivering power only when needed. In other words, the amplifier is either fully on or fully off, which significantly reduces power losses from the output devices given off as heat. Less heat means this amp doesn’t need a massive heat sink, which keeps it lighter. The B1800D-PRO's design delivers full power with incredible fidelity all night long, without the need for lengthy rest cycles.
When used in conjunction with switching-mode power supplies, which don’t require huge and heavy transformers, BEHRINGER's Class-D amplifiers provide tremendous dynamic punch and superior fidelity.
Custom-Designed Transducers
Since the transducers (woofers and tweeters) are the only part of a sound system you actually hear, BEHRINGER custom-designs and builds their transducers from scratch. Not only do they wind their own voice coils, they process the paper pulp into cones and even machine their own backplates.
Take control
The B1800D-PRO features balanced XLR inputs and outputs, as well as balanced XLR THRU jacks for connecting additional enclosures. A BOOST FREQUENCY knob targets a boost frequency between 45Hz and 90Hz. Flick the BOOST switch to give your selected frequency a +6 dB boost. These subs also feature a HIGH CUT dial to control the upper corner frequency for the subwoofer’s amplifier. The HIGH CUT dial does not affect the THRU signals, only signals directed to the subwoofer (however, it does affect the signals sent out through the Output sockets of the subwoofer to reach the full-range speakers). A LEVEL knob controls the input gain, and the PHASE switch reverses output phase to compensate for frequency cancellation between the subwoofer and satellite speakers. LEDs show operational status at a glance, including power, signal present, and input overloads.

behringer came on my radar about 6 months ago when i read an article that said they were starting to make decent gear. a few months ago, we were playing drum and bass/house/electro at a big bar and the other audio guy had no sub to go with some mackie thumps. so i picked up this 1800D and yes, stop the review - bottom line, for [$], the thing wangs harder than even mackie sr1800s, clean loud bass, most effective within the first 30' of the stage, would pair excellent with a folded sub or another active sub aimed a bit farther out. but i'm talking about playing loud, hot-signal techno for 300 ppl in a not-club. it was strenuous audio work and the behringer 1800D handled the whole 6+ hours like a boss. when plugged straight into a DJ mixer i would suggest checking your mixer attentuation and making sure you feed this sub a clean signal that doesnt clip at 6 or lower on its volume dial. then dial in the crossover from there. this sub makes it simple to do some pro-level work.this is my first review so im trying to be thorough. bottom line, buy the sub if you are like me a review lurker trying to get the most bang for the buck.

Speaker function is decent, but Musicians Friend dropped the ball (or speakers) on this one. What I received from Musicians Friend were damaged used speakers instead of new ones. One speaker had a caved in grill. The grill on the other speaker was dented. The speakers still functioned though. I sent pictures of the packages when I received them and the speakers when they were removed from the box.The first customer rep. I spoke to even told me it looked like I was sent used speakers by mistake. After looking at the used/damaged speakers on Musicians Friend, there were used speakers with the exact description of the speakers I received. Musicians Friend offered to let me keep the speakers at a price far higher than what they had them listed. I have been a Musicians Friend customer for a long time, but this will be the last thing I ever purchase from them again.

Purchased this used and knowig it needed repairs. However, more was in need of work than described in the listing. All the ports and interior boards and braces were in a pile, front baffle was beyond fixing, and one side was moderately cracked. This thing was dropped hard! But the driver and amp were ok. I made a new front baffle, reglued all ports and interior pieces back into place, and reinforced all the sides. Removed a few dents from the grill. It works like a charm and saved a lot of money. It's a very loud subwoofer.

I just sold a KSub because it sounded great with the ipod but live instruments sounded terrible. The Behringer sub sounds fantastic with live kick drum and bass guitar and also sounds great with ipod music playing. I havent owned this for very long but as long as its tough and holds up on the road, its probably the bets sub Ive ever owned. And Ive owned several powered and passive subs over the years. Really amazing what they can put out nowdays for this price.

If you DJ or run live sound, this is the unit to own. Plenty of power and thump. The sound difference and quality is awesome. The only drawback is its a heavy unit, so you need to be in shape or have someone help you lift it in or out when transporting. Also, the inputs/outputs are only XLR, no big deal because you can buy an adapter for XLR to 1/4 inch. Best buy for the money!

We played our first gig with these to a crowd of 150-200 people and never turned the signal above 2. It goes to 10.
I have built a full system from Behringer over the last 6 months. I couldn't be happier with the sound that we get with these subs! Great low-end, powerful, and self contained. I really like the crossover and amp being included in one unit.
Nothing but good to say here. Great quality sound and plenty of headroom.
I thought at first they were on the expensive side but when I compared and considered everything being rolled into one unit they are a bargain.

I have used this several times now for DJ gigs and love it more and more every time. It will get low and dirty and stays very tight at the same time. The cabinet looks awesome. Very sturdy construction. The only possible negative for you is that this thing is huge and heavy. This cabinet has definitely turned me into a Behringer fan.
Is easy to set up. Power cord could stand to be a little longer. But since it is a pretty universal end on the plug (it is removable) it was easy to find a longer replacement. The low pass filter on the output could be handy.
The cabinet is very sturdy. The handle feel very solid. This is important concidering it weighs almost 100lbs. It has a nice thick perforated matal grill on the front to protect the sub. The inputs have a good feel when plugging in cords. The knobs have a good feel.
10++ Is VERY well worth every cent I payed for it.

Can't say enough about the quality of product that Behringer offers at such a reasonable cost! I own all Behringer equipment and will continue to be loyal. The latest edition of the B1800D finished off the last of my system. The bottom end of this sub is amazing to say the least. I currently run a PMH880S powered mixer, 2 Eurolive B1520, 1 B212A for a singers monitor, and finally completed with the gigantic B1800D. I have had my system for about 5 years now with no failures of any kind, even after being rained on! I dj professionally part time as well as host karaoke and my customers all love the sound of Behinger equipment. You will not be disappointed with the purchase of this sub, from the cabinet construction the the massive punch and kick.
