Comments about Behringer EUROLIVE VP1220F 800W 12" Floor Monitor:
I own a couple of these monitors. I was in a duo with a guitar player, and we used two of these with two of the main speaker versions of this unit. We each had a monitor facing us on the floor. We used backing tracks and I played bass and my guitarist ran throught the p.a. with his floor pedal.
Our system is stereo power, 450 watts per side. We ran two as mains and these two monitors in front of us. Something for musicians to learn is that your bottom end, i.e. the bass guitar and bass drum, are to be handled by the main system, and the monitors are not normally used for mains, although in some occasions where we played low, we only used the monitors facing towards us, and that sufficed to bounce back and fill the smaller rooms.
When using these monitors, start with your e.q. level flat. Mix your instruments and vocals without mains, and then play a song with only monitors. Once you can hear the band through the monitors, add the mains. If you need more bass drum, use the main mixer e.q. to add bottom to your drums. If the speakers are properly placed the musicians should also hear side bleed from the mains for bottom end.
These speakers are an excellent value for the money. They look good, sound great for the price, and they give new starting musicians a chance to sound great if they pay attention to proper setup of the entire system.
Worth the purchase price! :-)
Plug and play!
Given the price of this unit, some monitors costing twice as much, a great value.
For it's power capability and sturdiness, and good construction, this is a nice unit.

I've owned this floor monitor for 1 year. While it is value priced I need to make a few comments. The factory rated power rating is grossly exadurated. I tried to run 200 watts (ultra high quality power, etc.)on a live gig and it fell woefully short. Don't even think about putting kick drum in it. The 12" speaker bottomed-out! My drummer perferred NO monitor over having this thing. The overall sound quality is not professional-level period. If you need a cheap floor monitor this guy will fill the bill nicely. I'm selling mine and buying upscale.

I bought this monitor for use in my practice rig. I've owned it for a yera now. It was cheaply priced and looked pretty decent. It sounds ok for rehersal but it won't cut the mustard in my live gig setup. The bass drum makes the 12" voice coil produce mechanical noise. That's a sure sign of poor driver quality. It'll be ok as long as you keep your expectations low. Consider the price! For a few bucks more you can step up to a semi-pro level monitor that'll do a much nicer job. Save your pennies and buy better. The power rating on this thing is grossly exadurated.

This speaker has a nice look and design. The sound quality is good. The construction of the box is also good, and it is lighter than it looks and holds up well loading it in and out of gigs. Just be carefull not to drop it. The woofer magnet is only attached with a few rivets, and it will detach from the speaker if dropped. I replaced my woofer with a Peavey and have been very happy with the result.
