    Weak and sensitive

    By Anonymous

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMH518M Ultra-Compact Powered Mixer:

For the casual to usual performer in an acoustic group or a rock group, this thing will get the job done for vocals. The problem is, it cant handle much of any abuse-- intentional or not. I have had two of these heads and primarily used a Shure SM58s. I recently bumped the unit while it was running and the left output speaker cable somehow punctured the output shaft; resulting in a small electrical fire (I could smell it from the exhaust fan.)This thing might as well be made of glass. This is the second one i've been through in a little over three years, and I don't abuse them at all.

    Looks good on paper

    By Mark_in_MA

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMH518M Ultra-Compact Powered Mixer:

On paper this mixer/amp looks good. Unfortunately, the power amp portion is flimsy. I wandered too close to a apeaker with a wireless mic, there was loud feedback, and then....nothing. The two power MOSFET output transistors fried. The only real protection is the main power supply fuse and that is hardly adequate. And this happened in the 13th month of my ownership and Behringer declined to fix or replace it.

    Compact Timesaver

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMH518M Ultra-Compact Powered Mixer:

This unit is very practical for small applications such as solo acts and parties. It also works very well as a monitor slave for a band. you could even use it for a guitar , bass or keyboard amp. I have used it in all of these instances and have had no problems, every body out in the crowd has always said it sounds good.

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMH518M Ultra-Compact Powered Mixer:

Well-worth the money. We retired from full-time gospel music 3 years ago and wanted something smaller for "part-time" use. Price, size, functions -- every thing we needed. We have even used it in an outdoor park and the sound was phenomenal -- more than covered the park area.

Great Mixer,Great Features, Great ValueI !

    By David Reeder

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMH518M Ultra-Compact Powered Mixer:

I use this mixer for background music at parties and other celebrations, often switching over to DJ mode in the evening hours. Through all of the events that I have done using this mixer as a power amp and mixer I have yet to be disappointed on any level. 180 watts is enough to light up most spaces and with 5 channels of input options and the tape in/out theres not much you cant do with this mixer. A great little mixer at a great price and loaded with features, what more could you ask for?

    Great overall value

    By T Bone

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMH518M Ultra-Compact Powered Mixer:

I have a DJ business and purchased this 180-watt mixer and paired it with, two Yamaha A-10's to have as a small, mobile system for wedding ceremonies, ect have been very impressed with the sound quality and features of this mixer. Five input channels- and the 7- band EQ is a great feature that you don't find on most lower-priced powered PA systems. This puts out plenty of sound for a smaller venue or anywhere that a big system is not needed. I also use it for karaoke and the vocal quality is very strong. A competitor just purchased the new Fender Passport PD-250 and I think the sound quality of my setup matches that. Plus the entire system costs less than $500 with free shipping, about half the cost of the Passport. Thanks again Behringer.

    Behringer PMH518M

    By Wade H.

    from St. Paul, MN

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMH518M Ultra-Compact Powered Mixer:

I bought this for our band to use as a practice PA. It's small & compact but does have some nice pro features. I set up the sound with the graphic eq and then fine tune it with the 2-band eq. The digial effects are a great step up from other units that just use a spring reverb. The volume works great for practice, which why I bought it. This unit will work well for small rooms & clubs. For the price, you get a lot PA in a small unit.

    Made in China

    By stl355

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMH518M Ultra-Compact Powered Mixer:

Cheap, cheap, cheap... Variety of effects, but no useful ones, unless you want to use them for fun only purposes. Quality of delays, echoes and reverbs is very poor and noisy, cannot use them in a real world. When you add up some lows, there is plenty of humming noise. Sound quality is very poor, does not matter how you set the equalizer. Feedback control feature is a joke, it does not work the way you would hope it works. Well, if you are a high school student and never had any real equipment, it may work well. But sound wise you'll be better off with a used and old Peavey powered mixer for about the same price. It sounds like... a tin can would be the closest comparison, does not matter how good the mikes are you using. I use it for monitors only, and it works barely satisfactory, the main reason to buy it was the weight and size (we play variety of gigs, and size and weight is the main advantage for this amp). Built quality: poor enough...mine had a loose screw inside, I had to take it apart to remove it, so there wouldn't be a short in the circuit board. The amp looks good and has rack mounts. My recommendations: if weight and size matter and you don't care about quality of a sound (which sometimes is a case), or for monitoring purposes, this amp is for you. But if the need is to use it as the main PA system with effects, go with something else. This is only my opinion, based on many years of experience as musician and sound engineer, if you are not as picky as I am, then go for it.
