Because I have a small recording studio, I felt that a PA system was a must have. I purchased the PMP 2000 because I had already spent a great deal of money, and this power mixer seemed like a good power mixer at a great price. The speakers were a no brainer, I used 2 Carvin LM12s. My complaint with this mixer is the amount of adjustment needed to find the right sound. With two EQ's, one for monitor, the other for main. It's very easy to forget when your in a hurry which EQs you need to adjust. Another problem I have is the pre-set sounds, that most have to much reverb. All of this can be overcome by taking time to adjust the mixer if you have time. However, if your needing to adjust on the fly it can be a problem. On the good side, I've had this power mixer for 4 years and never have I had a problem. I saw were others talked about the sound clipping, this may be a fault in their mics. My choice of microphones were the: Shure SM57, SM58, Sennheiser e 609 and 2 AKG Perceptions. It should be noted that I'm speaking of recording only. If I were using it live I would have to go with the Shure SM57 and SM58. The price on this power mixer is pretty good, and it has plenty of power. I wouldn't have a problem suggesting to others to give it a shot.

I've had the PMH2000 (the predecessor to the PMP2000, and pretty much its twin brother) for maybe seven years now and it's still going. I use it only from time to time. After a few years, we smelled smoke, and noticed that the FX send has stopped working on the first few channels. The rest of it still works fine; we just don't use reverb anymore! I'm not sure if I'd buy another one or not, but it's handy and it's been used at a number of practices and shows. No problem with the sound quality, overheating or any of that. I hate that there's no panning, but no big deal. I like the pre amp outs and the power amp inputs.

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP2000 Powered Mixer:

I have read some of these reviews and cannot believe people saying this board does not have enough power!? I have been playing music over 20 years and have had very good luck with Behringer products. Dont let the reviews fool you, this thing kicks! My band uses this for our practices, and I power two Peavey PV215 main cabs and 3 Kustom 210 monitors and our drummers hot spot monitor...and it is LOUD! If you know how to run sound properly this board will do the job. We have played outdoor gigs, loud bars, and the state fair with this thing, no complaints. The only bad thing about this board is that the effects arent that great for vocals. Other than that, this is a dependable workhorse that gets the job done, if you know how to use it.

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP2000 Powered Mixer:

Purchased this a couple years ago to mic drums for outdoor gigs with rock band. Alas, it's not quite enough power to do that well when trying to keep up with a Marshal half stack and a 4 x 10 bass cabinet.Pluses: Hi-z inputs. When my son's friends come over, they can plug their guitar or bass right into the PA. Plenty of power for smaller indoors spaces. Simple operation for entry level PA. Good lower end to sound. Lots of inputs. Negatives. Tends to easily clip when pushed. No input gain or panning. No aux outs, only one monitor mix. Summary - Great, simple, entry level powered mixer, though limited in bells and whistles for added control. Output power is ok for indoors, but not outdoors

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP2000 Powered Mixer:

This is my third Europower mixer and I love them. My first one was stolen so I bought another which I donated to a church. Then I bought a Peavey mixer and I don't take anything away from Peavey. Peavey also is a good product, but I missed my Behringer europower so I bought this one.
I love it and would recommend it to any one for practice or gigs.

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP2000 Powered Mixer:

I bought this mixer because I was tired of moving my older Behringer mixing board and two heavy power amps. I had some concerns about this little power mixer. I like to use a compressor for my vocals when I perform live. I also like to have nice, natural-sounding effects for my vocals. I was used to my older sound system, but it was time to give something else a try. My back isn't what it used to be.

Well, after several live performances using this powered mixer I'm excited and relieved with the results I achieved. The mic inputs on the mixer, combined with the rumble filter button "on", provide compression for the vocals. The built-in effects are just fine. I used the mixer for very small set-ups in bars. I ran main/mono and it sounded great. I had separate EQs for my main and monitor which is a plus. Nothing like being able to punch something louder through your monitor and not affect the main mix.

The overall sound of the unit is great. I had other musicians perform a few songs while I walked around and listened to the sound. I was using 10 inch monitors for my main speaker and monitor speaker. They handled the mix perfectly. I barely had the volume on when only running the two speakers. I intend to run just main A and B and run my monitors right off the main speakers. That will raise the ohms and I'll really be able to see what this mixer can do. So far, so good.

A great PA with nice features. I'm not overly impressed with the stereo channels, and I love running stereo. Running strictly mono for my live performances was fine though. I'm beginning to like a mono sound when performing live. I miss some of the other features (like a sub-mix) in my other Behringer sound board, but I'll get over it. My whole PA set-up fits in my Honda Civic. You can't beat that.

There you go, listening to all these non professionals give their comments on a piece of equipment. Look, I run a production company and along with doing professional stage productions, we also rent a lot of equipment. I've had this piece for over five years. it's rented many times. Never had a problem. It's a great powered mixer, plenty of power, and it will get the job done! My only complaint is that in the Texas 100+ heat, the internal thermal overload will shut it down if used outdoors. I've had to put a 12" fan behind it to cool it on hot days. NO Problem! Plenty of options with this mixer!

I have a Christian group that travels & plays up tempo contemporary, and Christian rock. We have used this as our only PA source for 6 years, and we've been together for 8 years now, and play in churches, and events all over. It was not untill we started playing more outdoor big events, that we needed more power. This mixer still gives us use in the churches and smaller venues and works great, sounds great, and lasts long, what more can anybody want?

        Not Happy

        By Steve K-wRbYY

        from Brussels,

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP2000 Powered Mixer:

I thought I really had a winner with this product, but after a few gigs the unit inexplicably started 'clipping' vocals. Turning down the mic input gains as low as 1 or 2 didn't help; bypassing the effects didn't help; adjusting the equilizers didn't help etc etc. In addition, the 1/4" 'Monitor Output' on the front of the unit has died. Overall, not very impressive performance for a unit used for less than a dozen gigs and 25 or so practices. I likely won't buy another Behringer product and will be content spending more money for products that will deliver for a couple of years.

We purchased this unit as part of a package, and much to my surprise, everything was great. Setup was easy and the system performs great, we use it twice a week for our Sunday morning service and our Thursday night bible study. Would recommend this unit to all who wish to have quality with an inexpensive cost.

Comments about Behringer EUROPOWER PMP2000 Powered Mixer:

I purchased one of these several years ago and it was called a PMX 2000 and it's a 2X 250 watts, or rather a 500 watt bridged. I think that I've had this one 6-8 years now and I've not had one problem with it. It can really jam out man!!! I've had it cranked up playing some really spacy tunes that rivels on Floyd w/a mix of Hendrix and little this and that.... I can't see any problems that could arise, but all so far are great! When I say that I own it I guess that I do because of the model #....
