this mixer does everything that it's designed to do. My recording interface has 8 outputs, making it fairly easy to map each dedicated channel from pro tools through the first 8 tracks. The onboard EQs makes enhancing vocals a breeze. I would have been happier if there was more vocal effects and dedicated outputs but hey! it gets the job done so I can't complain. I have read the bad reviews and I totally disagree with all of them simply because if you take care of this unit it WILL last longer. the burnt out channels and or colliding/merged channels are the results of poor maintenance and or too much loud/peaking noises relayed through the inputs. My advice, use it when needed, cover it up when not in use, keep unit clean/free of dust & most importantly, PLEASE MIND YOUR INPUTS. make sure volume is lowered when plugging and unplugging your inputs/outputs. If you do that then you can't go wrong & you WILL get more bang for your buck. I know I am and I am well pleased with each recording.

Our mixer has been used by 2 local bands and is giged about twice a month. When we got this mixer it was great at we loved the reverb settings that were built in. Eventually we started losing channels. I had it repaired by a local repair shop a couple of times but they eventually cut out again. Its frustrating to use because when we sound check everything may work ok but then when we show up later at night to play some of the checked channels are gone. Its the next piece of equipment to get upgraded.
Although this mixer has given me nothing but trouble we use several other behringer products that have been excellent as long as I've had them

Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB2442FX-PRO Mixer:
I wanted to use this board to mix my indie/punk band's drums, guitars and bass, and record the output using a multi-channel PC recording interface. This board's awesome features - in-line compression, built-in effects, EQ controls, and direct outputs on the first eight channels - made it seem to good to be true. Which it was. Like I said, it was useless out of the box on day one. It could have been damaged in shipping, but the other reviews I've read strongly suggest that's not the case. I've heard this item has been discontinued from the Behringer catalog (if so, with good reason); when I went back to look at the board on the MusiciansFriend site, I saw that only used ones were listed now. Guess I got the last new one they still had stocked. MF was great about the return and gave me a full refund (Thanks as always, guys!). Mackie makes a comparable board (the VLZ series) that will likely cost at least twice as much; if you need the features of this board, I recommend saving up and investing in the Mackie, which has a much better reputation for reliability. I decided to forgo a mixer altogether and am just recording our band directly through the Tascam US-1800 USB2.0 audio interface and doing EQ, FX, etc. using the bundled Cubase software.
This board is packed with features.
The power supply started shorting out within about five minutes of use. Power flickered on and off every time I turned it on, even when I tried it on isolated outlets and using a different power cord.
Although the price is nice, there's no value in a piece of gear that doesn't work out of the box.

I regret purchasing one and would not recommend it. I plan on buying a mackie to replace it
It has a lot of effects to offer, but none of them sound great
Lasted about a year of light use in practices. Traveled once for a gig and a channel died
don't rely on this board, its probably not going to last
Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB2442FX-PRO Mixer:
I am very satisfied with the product overall. It's well layed out and has a great sound. It is well manufactured and the metal cabinet is very road worthy. The only disappointment I had was the user's manual. It tells you what the features are, but has virtually nothing on how to use them. I've been around a lot of mixers, but was never much of a sound man. After watching a couple Youtube video's, I was able to get it all figured out. I would recommend this product to anyone.
Unit is loaded with all the features I could ever need. The layout is excellent!
The metal cabinet is well manufactured and sturdy.
The price is excellent compared to other mixers, especially if your on a tight budget.

I Bought One 7 Years Ago And We Rode This Thing Hard from Gig To Gig With My Band. Never Had Any Problems With Mine. But In The Midst Of Running Karaoke One Night It Got A Drink Spilled On It So Neddless To say Its Time For A New One. This One still Works But The Sliders are a Little Sticky. I Have Seen The Bad Reviews Maybe Its Just The Newer Ones Guess I will Find Out... If It Gives Me Problems I will ship It Back And Buy a Mackie.
Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB2442FX-PRO Mixer:
If there was a zero rating thats what this so called piece of gear would get from me. You'd be better off buying a big bag of poop from your angry neighbor. It's not even a good gift.
Oh there are lots of gadgets on this monster. Thing is they are awful sounding.
This mixer is a great example of Chinese manufacturing. Everything on this deck is flimsy, noisy and it's build quality is cheap. Save your money!
Simply said its a waste of cash. If you have clients and own one you'd better hide. Nothing says fool better than Behrenger.
Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB2442FX-PRO Mixer:
I've owned one of these and another larger Behringer board. The cost was a major factor. The sound quality was good and the board worked well for several years but recently one channel cut in and out before failing altogether. I'm pretty sure the failing channel popped the tweeter on my new powered speakers. With two failures in short order I'm now real concerned about the rest of my Behringer stuff preforming at gigs. Buy knowing it may work well for years but fail and take other equipment out with it.
Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB2442FX-PRO Mixer:
So far we have gone through two of these boards. The second will be returned for a refund and we will go with something more reliable. The board is handled with care, but the channels go out one by one. They fade away or fail to output any sound. On our second board there are currently at least 5 of 12 channels that have died. Our first board killed some channels then let out loud gunshot-type noises during a worship service. You get what you pay for! If you must buy this, get a warranty. But I'd recommend a well-proven brand instead!
Comments about Behringer Eurorack UB2442FX-PRO Mixer:
This mixer would be great if it didn't fail so often. The channels, on every one of these boards I've seen, go out one at a time and normally will not take long to start doing so. I'm going to try the Zenyx board but if it fails like this one did I'm trashing everything that I own with Behringer's name on it and replacing it... except my 3282A(one of the best low budget mixers I've ever seen but of course you can't find them any more). And don't even try to get schematics to repair Behringer products because they DO NOT give out info on YOUR product that you bought! To sum it all up DON'T BUY THIS MIXER!!!
