I purchased a pair of these nearly 3 years ago. We gig 3 nights per week, I desperately needed monitors as I had none, and my budget was suffering horribly. I purchased the Behringers because they were priced lowest. I figured if they could get me by for a while I would have more money and be able to replace the components with Eminence after I blew whatever Behringer put in there. I have been beating the hell out these on the road for 3 years and they are still crystal clear and I'm socking a Mackie 1400 to them and our lead vocalist likes them hot!!! Don't be afraid of them. They'll stand up to anything on the market, I'm sure. I don't give out straight 10's easily!
I was skeptical when I ordered these wedges for my system. As someone who has built many speakers over the years, naturally the first thing I did when they arrived was to completely disassemble them. I was shocked to discover unnecesarily high quality components and construction. HF driver is a solid eminence type 40 ouncer (compared to puny piezo electrics on Yamaha or others). Woofer is equally robust. Cabinet construction is exceptional and is even internally braced (unbelievable, never ever find that on a wedge in this price range)Also has insulation for damping (also very rare on a cheap wedge). Crossover is a real honest crossover, not just a high pass, and includes Bi-amp ability. As for the sound. They are better sounding than most wedges I have heard costing twice as much. They do need a little brightening with the eq and a little roll off at 400ish. 2 of these wedges for each player far outperforms any single eaw, JBL, or EV consumer wedge. They are so inexpensive they are practially free. Note: use a good powerful amp, at least 300 watts a side at 8 ohms.
These things are built like tanks! We've had ours for three years and they've taken quite a bit of abuse and have held up great. They also sounds amazing which is the reason why I'm buying two more. Can't go wrong!
I bought two of these and they sound great. Clean sound and haven't had problems. The speakon connectors is a pain though.
As a professional musician, the importance of your monitoring system can't be emphasized enough. I bought this monitor several months ago but have been disappointed by the sound. In our set up it is definitely the "weak" monitor compared to our other yamaha wedges. The speakon only connection is inconvenient and to suffienciently hear your vocals in a rock and roll setting you would need two of these monitors. The affordability makes this a possibility but not practical if you travel. I gig six days a week so portability is an issue. The behringer is built well but the tradeoff is its weight. This thing is atleast as heavy as our 15" mains. I personally would not buy another one of these, in favor of another yamaha, even though there is a price disparage
I was a little skeptical when I asked our pastor to purchase these monitors, but they had good reviews and I trust Behringer. Well I was not disappointed, these are the best speakers we have. They really are nicer than our Yamaha mains. If I purchase sound equipment for myself, these will be in my order. I was a little annoyed with changing the ends on my cables to Speakon, but the connector is pretty cool once you use it.
I tested this along with several others. It is unbelieveable. Clean, clear, accurate and punchy!
I got these Speakers for our church, I wanted tohear them next the Yamaha floor monitors we have. The sound blew me away, they sound just as good as the yamahas. Great buy!
Great monitor, better and clearer sound than our Yamaha 15 mains. Great bargain as well.
We purchased these a few weeks ago for our church band and are very impressed with the sound. We had these hooked up with our peavey monitors and I could not even hear the Peaveys next to these. They look nice and are built very well.
i recently bought 4 of these and i was blown away by them...they sound better than the Mackie powered speakers we have that cost 4 times as much......
