24-bit/96kHz feedback suppression with 40 parametric filters.

The FBQ2496 is an incredibly fast feedback suppressor because it uses a speedy feedback detection algorithm that automatically and intelligently locates up to 20 feedback frequencies per channel. It then sets an extremely narrow notch filter to eliminate them, leaving the remainder of the signal virtually untouched.

The auto mode continuously monitors the mix, resetting programmed filters automatically, while the manual mode allows individual settings of up to 40 fully parametric filters with frequency, bandwidth, and gain adjustment. With its various modes you can master just about any live sound situation, or use the Feedback Destroyer Pro as a creative sound-shaping tool.

Features

  • Automatically and intelligently locates and destroys up to 20 frequencies per channel
  • Ultrafast feedback detection (>0.2 sec) due to proprietary FFT signal analysis
  • Ultra-narrow notch-filters (up to 1/60th octave) for very effective feedback suppression, while keeping highest sonic quality
  • The Set-and-forget default setting plus Panic button enable immediate and super-easy Feedback Destroyer performance
  • Auto mode continuously monitors the mix, resetting programmed filters automatically
  • Single-shot mode automatically detects and destroys feedback and locks the filter until you reset it manually
  • Manual mode allows individual setting of up to 40 fully parametric filters with frequency, bandwidth and gain adjustment
  • Ultra-high resolution 24—bit/96kHz A/D and D/A converter powered by a 32-bit DSP for ultimate audio performance
  • Open MIDI architecture for future software updates and flexible communication with digital equipment
  • Balanced inputs and servo-balanced outputs with gold-plated XLR and 1⁄4" TRS connectors
  • Internal switch-mode power supply for flexibility (100-240V), good transient response, plus low power consumption for energy savings
  • High-quality components and rugged construction
  • Conceived and designed by BEHRINGER Germany

i have been musically and electronically inclined since when i was a kid. i purchased this item FBQ2496 to use it in our place of worship (Kingdom Hall). I have been their soundtech for more than 7 years. i planned to get this one to add more miking (vocal) volume to the public speaker in front of the stage because there's no way for me to control childs noise whenever they cry. (louder than what audience can hear from the public speaker). when i got this item, i tried it for a day and it really destroys feedback. however, the following day when i tried to use it again, after switching it on. after about 2seconds...it died. no power. dead. NOT GOOD! behringer, please make a product that's really good in quality. chasis is not even sturdy. rack braces are moving. you could've made a one-piece front panel without its side rack-bracket only attached by metal screws. front panel still has rough edges (aluminum). and if you could just make ALL your equipment voltage switchable (110/240). autovolt is okay. anyway, wait for my comment on your XENYX x1204 usb mixer, 1502EQ and your composer mdx2600. the quality you're bragging is not that acceptable...just a comment. peace!

I purchased the FBQ2496 from here and I do love it! However it does not fix feedback problems-you still need to have a bet of set-up knowledge. I play in a small room for a comedy club / bar and also practice with a full band in a 14x14 room and it does help, and it does give all kinds of head room on my mixer-but it does not destroy feed back all by it self. I use it as most others in the auto mode but its really just a preset digital EQ in the auto mode, other wise you still have to set it up as a digital EQ. I am really happy with the product and do believe it helps but it is not going to destroy 100% of feed back. The back XLR conectors are also very poor in quality-mine wouldnt hold the cable in place the first time I plugged it in. Still great to have!

Sound made easier

I have experimented with sound processors for the past 5 years now and every time I talk to a sound engineer, each one tells a different thing. To begin with , the right amount of punch, highs, mids etc is definitely in the ears of the beholder. I been told by other sound techs, that you don't need audio enhancers or feedback suppression if you know what your doing. That maybe true, but I own both type of signal processors and it has made my life easier. In fact others that have listened to my set up agree as well. This machines is off the hook. Our band practices in a small 12 x 12 and we practice loud. Vocals are always an issue since feedback since the close proximity of the sing and the main speakers. With this machine, our singers now rests in peace, not worried about staying in a certain area of the room. This is the answer to all your feedback problems. For you non-believers - BELIEVE!

this is an amazing product. i run sound weekly at a local music venue. we were dealing with a lot of feedback issues and not being able to to turn up the vocals loud enough to really cut through the mix. i hooked the feedback destroyer pro into my system and the difference was absolutely amazing. there was no problem with feedback and theres at least 20% more headroom. the vocals sat beautifully on top of the mix and couldnt have sounded better. usually the soundman is a thankless job, but last night i received several compliments. highly recommended.

I bought this because our band practices in a small, very live room. It killed almost all of our feedback, and gave us a huge increase in headroom. Now we use it onstage in our monitor loop, and it does half our soundcheck for us. Eliminates onstage feedback better than most sound guys I've come across. I've never needed to mess with it manually. I always just use it on Auto Pilot. An absolute must have item.
