This piece of gear is pretty much worthless.  It would, on paper, appear to be laden with great features, but they don't work very well.  The internal key filter, great feature right?  It would be alot better if it worked... at all.  The seperate attack, hold and release, also nice features right?  Well, once again they would be but their overall ineffectivness all but render the multigate as a glorified on/off switch that only triggers when the stage goes quiet.  Quality is worth paying for, if you need real gates invest the money in Aphex or Drawmer.  If you want to fill an empty spot in your rack with a worthless piece of gear that has lots of lights, the Behringer is a great choice

I have had mine for over a year now and love it. Granted, it is not as professional as one of my upper-end freq. gates ($800+) but it works great with live applications. In recordings, it is not quite transparent as I would like, however, you can get it to work for you. Read the directions and use your ears. I am so glad that this is out there because I didn't have the money to go buy more upper end freq. gates for use with a Live Rig.

I am a producer / engineer who was to working with DAWs w/ internal effects, but when I started buying external equipment, I knew that I would need a good gate for a good price. When I saw the quad-gate, I thought it would be a temperary gate until I wanted to spend more money on something better. I WAS WRONG! The quad gate is the best and cleanest sounding gate I have ever heard. I run my compressor (PreSonus Eureka, also great!) through it and my mic rack sounds better than any other I've heard. It takes alittle getting use to, but as far as a gate is concerned, the Quad gate is all you need. It is very simple to set up and user friendly. Nothing to it.

I own many Behringer products  but that may be changing.  If found their reliability to be poor in the long run especially when you least expect it.  I had the same problem with their MDX4600 compressor as I've had with their XR4400 Multigate in that one of the channels died unexpectedly without warning.  That's not too cool when you are setting up for a gig.  My advice.....spend a few buck more and get something that will be there when you need it.
