This is a great way to put together a nice PA system on a not-so-nice budget.  Hooked up to a Behringer 2500 power amp plus BBE sonic maximizer and presto, complete system in an eight-space rack with room to spare.  Lots of good features in a small package, easily understood manual

and built in FX.  FX aren't the best, but are good enough for most applications, or just turn off if you have your own.  Rear-mounted plugs keep curious hands away from jacks at band practice.  Nice piece of equipment, so far, so good.

Fantastic Bang For The Buck

After reading all the reviews I ordered the RX1202FX as it fit the exact demands of what I was looking for. I needed an 19", 8 chan, rack-mountable mixer to go in my vocal rig case. I've been singing professionally in rock cover bands for 23 years and have started dabbling in nostalgic jazz. I didn’t want to haul around my Yamaha soundboard for a five piece jazz group so this fit the bill. I play through QSC K12s and also have a KW181 which is only used for the rock band.  I noticed a few reviewers mentioned this unit is noisy and cheap junk. This is absolutely not true! Unless they received a defective unit or are using a noisy power amp, effects unit, pedal, speaker, whatever, etc., their’s nothing wrong with the RX1202FX. It is completely quiet and void of any signal noise. I plugged my QSC K12s into the left and right channels on the back of the RX1202FX and I didn’t hear one bit of noise. I sang directly from chan 1 and it sounded fantastic. I then chained in my TC Helicon VoiceLive 2 and still, no noise. I am extremely impressed with the quality of this unit for what I paid. However, confirming what some reviewers mentioned. The effects are cheap karaoke quality but I don’t care because I have a separate effects unit.  I suggest turning down the FX To MAIN all the way and problem solved.  The inputs for ¼ and XLR in back could be considered annoying by some but it doesn’t bother me.  I justify this by not having to worry about my cable ends sheering off the front if someone or something were to brush against the unit’s face.  For what this unit offers at the this price, you’d be insane not to buy it. I’m very glad I did.

Quality:

I chose 9 because of the cheap sounding effects. The sliders and posts are pretty much the average feel of most soundmixers.

Value:

The value is insane. I chose 9 because of the cheap sounding effects.

Overall:

I chose 9 because the overall value and features for a 19" 8chan rackmount mixer like this is insane!

Mixers are so expensive...especially when looking for warmth in tone. I found this mixer to be very warm and rich in tone and although the effects are extreme, with a little time I learned to tailor them to suit my needs. I purchased the unit to add multiple mics to my internet radio show but it now has a home in my instrument mixing as well. The analog dial controls leave something to desire over sliders...but is is a rack unit...and the mains are sliders, so I set the channels and use the mains to tailor the volume. Overall...for the price...this unit is great!

A-1

Can't beat the price!

I would recommend to anyone on a low budget looking for a great mixer!

It arrived faster than I expected! Mixer has some nice features, easy to set up and ready to use, I am using it for my vintage Roland analog guitar synth gr-500 that has selectable outputs, dig the stereo and rack mountable features, the ONLY thing I did not find very practical at all is that the MAIN outputs are XLR connectors... maybe good idea for hooking into a PA system but not practical for hooking into a regular amp or PC soundcards...and adapters are expensive! it has a monitor/headphones out with standard 1/4 phone connectors which I am using for my amps and recording because they do not have got XLR inputs...and so, I cannot use headphones or monitors! the quality is great and the 100 preset EFXs are easy to program! So far haven't got any technical problems with it and works better than I expexted for what I need it!
