I am using an Asus Eee notepad and Sonar to play midi sequences I've created for live shows. The Asus audio was unusable for playing accompanying audio and I thought my idea was done. Then I find this little gem. Plugged it in, a couple USB driver bleeps later I’m playing my audio into the mixer and all is right with the world. Low price for an audio interface; Terrific.

Does what it is supposed to do

OUTSTANDING! For the price. Got it with some equipment I bought a long time ago and didn't need to use it until I started having problems with the front end to my PC. I plugged in the little dude and it did exactly what it advertised. Got my tracks right into the sound card and even connected other RCA devices to allow me to listen to movies, music, etc. just as if I had bought a really expensive audio adapter.

The Energy XT or whater, was pretty useless as far as I could tell. Very complicated and it didn't recognize half of my VSTs. It didn't automatically recognize MIDI either and it was really difficult to track in stereo mode.

Anyway, I upgraded my front end, but really liked the UCA222 when I used it.

Seriously, if you want to get some basic tracks into your PC or want to restore vynal records etc. this little dude is ideal....and CHEAP compared to other products.

Records unevenly

Pretty straight-forward feature set.  Two RCA ins, two RCA outs, a headphone monitor jack, an optical out, and a USB plug.

This unit is fine if you want to do a quick recording or want a cheap interface for a home studio.  However, be aware that it doesn't record the left and right channels evenly.

This unit always records the left channel slightly louder than the right channel.

I got my first UCA222 and experienced this phenomon and, thinking it might just be a malfunction of that particular box, I took it back to the store and got a new one.  The replacement works in the exact same way.

To make sure it wasn't the audio source, I recorded different audio sources, incluiding a microphone run from a mixer.

To make sure it wasn't the cable, I swapped the inputs... plugging the right into the left, and the left into the right.

To make sure it wasn't the operating system, I tried more than one operating system.

In each instance, the left channel recorded louder than the right, showing the problem to be the UCA222 box itself.  I tried contacting Behringer about the issue, but they seem very slow to respond.

So in summary, the box records unevenly.  It's slight, often .3 to .5 decibles difference, but it's still uneven.  It may be worth your time and money to buy something else.

Really great product for the money! it installed itself as soon as i plugged it in and it was set to go. I bought it because my mic input stopped working and i decided to get this because i needed a cheap way to get back to my home recording and it is more than perfect. I simply plugged my mixer to the input on the audio interface and it worked perfectly.  Bottom line, a really easy to use audio interface for a good price.

Over all, I think it's a POS. save you money, and get something good.

I got this Christmas of last year...and I used it right away. It worked pretty well for a while, and I even used it as a soundcard for my computer, which has a fried soundcard. Recently, while trying to record, I saw that my computer did not recieve signal from the interface. Now, not only will it not work, but Behringer is ignoring my emails about support. This only intensifies my dislike of Behringer, and I know will spend a little extra and get something worthwhile, like a Peavey or a Mackie mixer/interface. I might also add that I have been burned on everything Behringer I ever bought, whether it be a bass amp or a guitar effect. No more, Behringer has permenantly lost my business.

It's cheaply built, and is quite easy to break

It's great...if it works
