For the small price, this little unit beats the big-priced sound boards hands down.
You can spend 8 times the cost of this unit and get less sound quality (pops, crackles, drop-outs) like I did. I've used this little gem for Online Karaoke, Internet Streaming as well as recording analog recordings to a digital format.
I'm simply thrilled I took a chance on this product.
As a professional broadcast engineer with decades of experience, I highly suggest you pick one of these up and forget about the expensive soundcards.

Purchased this unit as a simple interface to record out writing sessions in the warehouse. Set up included a single mic into the mixer which sent the signal to the U-CONTROL UCA222 into my laptop. Works great with simple apps such as Media Player or Media Monkey as well as records great into Audacity, good sound. I pulled up Fruity Loops Studio 8.0 though to play a track and sounded like crap, lots of skips and pops...(Not my system I have it tweaked very well). This is a driver issue! Only comes with standard USB driver no ASIO support for this unit. Still I would recommend to a friend for a simple and very portable interface for listening to basic media tracks.

i own it

Comments about Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222 USB Audio Interface:

A great unit for feeding stereo tracks into a computer. Not great for overdubbing/multitracking. There is a slight latency that does not go away even after using asio4all,and behringer's downloads too. But if you have stereo tracks that you want to feed into your daw, this is it. If you want to multitrack, you will need a different interface.

Comments about Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222 USB Audio Interface:

OUTSTANDING! For the price. Got it with some equipment I bought a long time ago and didn't need to use it until I started having problems with the front end to my PC. I plugged in the little dude and it did exactly what it advertised. Got my tracks right into the sound card and even connected other RCA devices to allow me to listen to movies, music, etc. just as if I had bought a really expensive audio adapter.

The Energy XT or whater, was pretty useless as far as I could tell. Very complicated and it didn't recognize half of my VSTs. It didn't automatically recognize MIDI either and it was really difficult to track in stereo mode.

Anyway, I upgraded my front end, but really liked the UCA222 when I used it.

Seriously, if you want to get some basic tracks into your PC or want to restore vynal records etc. this little dude is ideal....and CHEAP compared to other products.

does what the box says, with more?

Comments about Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222 USB Audio Interface:

ok, so this does what it is supposed to do. i put it between my mixer, and computer. no problems, i can listed to it through the head phone jack... i can also use by plugging my turntable into it, and convert vinyl to mp3. but the real beauty with this device is how well it works with computers. i can use it on windows, them go to my buddy's place who has a mac, and use it, with out installing anything. but one thing it does that the box doesn't say, is that it works with linux. i can plug it into my laptop with ubuntu 10.10, and it shows up, with nothing to install, and i can start recording. nice touch.

Comments about Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222 USB Audio Interface:

Over all, I think it's a POS. save you money, and get something good.
I got this Christmas of last year...and I used it right away. It worked pretty well for a while, and I even used it as a soundcard for my computer, which has a fried soundcard. Recently, while trying to record, I saw that my computer did not recieve signal from the interface. Now, not only will it not work, but Behringer is ignoring my emails about support. This only intensifies my dislike of Behringer, and I know will spend a little extra and get something worthwhile, like a Peavey or a Mackie mixer/interface. I might also add that I have been burned on everything Behringer I ever bought, whether it be a bass amp or a guitar effect. No more, Behringer has permenantly lost my business.
It's cheaply built, and is quite easy to break
It's great...if it works

Excellent device. However, the device doesn't come with the boxed software shown in the item description and the product picture. This isn't a negative on the device itself but, rather the way the device is being described on the website.

I am using this sound card to provide inputs and outputs to a BeagleBone Black micro-computer. The sound card is installed and running with Linux. This card is valuable in that it is USB class-compliant so it needs no drivers to be installed.

Comments about Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222 USB Audio Interface:

Really great product for the money! it installed itself as soon as i plugged it in and it was set to go. I bought it because my mic input stopped working and i decided to get this because i needed a cheap way to get back to my home recording and it is more than perfect. I simply plugged my mixer to the input on the audio interface and it worked perfectly. Bottom line, a really easy to use audio interface for a good price.

Comments about Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222 USB Audio Interface:

I own two of these that I use on my Dell laptops to play back midi sequenced tracks for live performance. I use an older version of Cakewalk and a Roland Virtual Sound Canvas in my laptop to play back additional instruments "live" with my duo through a nice PA. The sound of this tiny box is crystal clear and works by just plugging it in. No installation, no drivers to fool with, just plug it in. I have used the same box on a second laptop to record directly from the PA mixer into a laptop with the included Audacity software. I take the laptop home, transfer the audio file into my home studio system and cut it up into individual songs. The recording quality is really great.Yes there are more elaborate boxes that feature low impedence inputs and mic preamps but this little box does what it does at a small fraction of the price, and does it well. I notice that some people complained that it is made of plastic but it's a fairly hard plastic and I have abused the hell out mine (not on purpose, but it has been dropped a number times from quite a distance)and mine never cracked or failed to work. The bottom line is that this box is limited in what it does. It gives you a great clear sound via a USB connection. You can get a nice signal into a computer and nice signal out of a computer and the soundcard in this little box is 100% better than the one in my DEll computers. At this price, you shouldn't expect more.

      Great Product!

      By Muzikreator

      from Mesa, AZ

Comments about Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222 USB Audio Interface:

My soundcard had poor 1/8" jacks and the sound coming out of it was distorted so I decided to buy this little booger. The first thing that turned me on to it was the RCA ins/outs, using turntables that's pretty much your only option (unless you get converter cords). The other thing I liked was how small, portable and simple it looked. So I plugged it in while my computer was on and BAM my computer recognized it! No downloads nice and simple. I opened up my recording program (Acid Pro), hit the record button and noticed there was NO floor noise with the channel up (something unheard of with my soundcard). I curiously tapped the tone arm to make sure it was picking up sound, and it was. I didn't have to change settings or anything in windows. It was working as the default device once plugged in.So I slapped on my record and recorded it. I played it back and it sounded nice and clean. Great product, simple, plug and play, cheaper than a sound card, easier to install, does what it's supposed to. Would definitely recommend to someone that wants an easy way to record!
