The Behringer DI400P Passive Direct Box lets you connect instruments or amplifier outputs to your mixer. The Ultra-DI converts any unbalanced signal to a balanced signal and eliminates unwanted noise. With its high-performance transformer, the Behringer Ultra-DI also allows you to use very long cables without the loss of high frequencies.

although for the most part these DIs do the job, they are cheap, and I have found several of my mic cables (if not all of them) do not correctly "click" in place so the cords come out easily. Spend the money to get better boxes and don't short change yourself like I did!

I bought a pair of these direct boxes a few years ago for my acoustic duo when recording direct-out, as well as to fill out my live sound equipment. They functioned as average, no-frills direct boxes for a few months before they each picked up inexplicable noise and buzzing originating from all of the inputs/outputs. Sadly, they prove my experience with Behringer products - it's always worth it to spend more rather than be saddled with their low quality.

I bought one of these about a year ago to play my acoustic at church. I plug the soundhole pickup out into the box, then a mic cord into the PA system, and it sounds great. Very basic, no bells and whistles, but it does what it is supposed to do.

This little tool is a must have in any one's tool box. It is solid, the jacks are well set, and the metal case is solid. I use it at my church for a sound hole pickup, and it works wnderfully, with almost no added noise. Just Get It!!

Bought 4 of these to cover the times where we need a lot of DIs and we run out of the more expensive ones. It does what it needs to do. This is an exact clone of the Whirlwind Imp DI, the only difference is the manufacturer of the transformer inside the box, and the ground lift switch is wired in the opposite direction. I have not noticed a difference between the two, and the Behringer passes with flying colors for live sound applications. I can't justify paying more for a passive DI.

I am the worship leader at a local church. I needed a direct box to plug my acoustic guitar into the sound board. I looked at various different models and decided that this one would do everything I needed it too. It has lived up to my expectations. I have never had a problem with this direct box. The only reason I gave it a 2.5 on features is because some of the more expensive models have equalization controls, multiple inputs, effects loop, et cetera. If you take care of all that with other equipment all you really need is this box. And at a price below most of the other models it definitely gets my recommendation.
