Comments about Behringer XENYX 1002B 5-Channel Compact Mixer:
Greatest use is for small events. Wouldn't want you to use it for recording since it's not the best sounding mixer. Also would like to see XLR outs so that I can run this with my powered Mackie Actives. I do a lot of smaller events that makes me have to be compact and small set up. This mixer deffinitely does the job! Best bang for the buck!
Comments about Behringer XENYX 1002B 5-Channel Compact Mixer:
I bought the 1002B mainly because my 1202 was generating too much noise. Once I got the 1002B, and set it up in my home recording studio, I found it to be not only quieter but more convenient to use, with more controls over the sound. The mic preamps offer more gain with less noise and better control of the low, mid and high frequencies. The dedicated monitor circuits give me more flexibility and control over hearing what I'm sending to the recorder, and over playback from the recorder as I record new tracks.
The Behringer Xenyx 1002B offers several improvements over my 1202. It is slightly larger than the 1202 but not cumbersome, and offers better control and monitoring of outgoing and incoming signals. It is much quieter. I use it as an interface with my computer recording software. It has everything I need, and more.
Not only does it deliver a clean signal to my recording software, everything about it indicates it is built to last. It is sturdy. Knobs and sliders are durable. It feels and handles like professional equipment.
I researched thoroughly before buying a replacement for my 1202. I found bigger units for a lot more money, but none that would do the job better than the 1002B. This is a lot of mixer for the money.

Great mixer and great value
Plenty of channels to connect
Wish it had xlr outputs instead of 1/4, I had to buy adapters to go to xlr
Comments about Behringer XENYX 1002B 5-Channel Compact Mixer:
This is a great little board and worth buying. I wouldn't recomend using this for a 5 peice kit or more than because if your recording drums your going to want 2 overheads, kick, snare and under snare mic and 3 tom mics. My setup is a mobile rack unit with behringer patchbays, a Tascam US-1800 and Crown XLS amps. I run my audix overheads and my under mic for the snare and the main snare mic into this board (which does come with wings to mount to the rack unit) then sends to my Tascam US-1800. The snare and under snare mics are setup for Mono Send which sends to channel 1 into my Tascam then the cymbals just run through the faders and out like normal which goes to my tascams last channel and this works great! My 8 channels are Snare, Kick, 8,10,12,14,16, Cymbals. What I am going to do is just by a Behringer Eurorack Pro RX1602 Line Mixer instead of using this board because it takes up too many rack spaces. Behringers line mixers might make more sense for anyone looking for this board, its a little more money but gives you the same features and more channels.

A fantastic little mixer with powerful innovations. The Xenyx preamps are awesome technology, it is made with good materials and the sound quality coming out of it is awesome. Even the Phones output sounds great! I definitley reccomend this device for anyone looking for a small format mixer!
I love the XENYX mic preamps and the built-in phantom power. I haven't tried the batter operation yet.
When I bought this, it was on sale here on Musician's Friend. Well worth the price!!
Comments about Behringer XENYX 1002B 5-Channel Compact Mixer:
I needed multiple stereo inputs and the Xenyx 1002B was the most economical choice. Signals are clean through good-quality microphones and the EQs are remarkably good-sounding.
Comments about Behringer XENYX 1002B 5-Channel Compact Mixer:
I use this mixer 4-5 times a week for live performance on congas and percussion. I send the main out to our PA system, and run the FX send to an active monitor. I currently use 4 mic channels (2 for congas, 2 for overheads) but it is great that I can add more mics if/when I increase the amount of percussion I have with me on stage. It has so far (about 100 shows) been 100% reliable. All in all, I consider this to be the best small mixer for my application.
Comments about Behringer XENYX 1002B 5-Channel Compact Mixer:
I ordered this to use when I don't need to mic our drummer. 3 vocals and 2 amps only as we all use small parctice amps and mic them. When I realized it only has pre amps on 2 of the mic inputs I called MF and tried to change the order. It was already loaded on the truck.(fast,no?). So I told the gal to never mind I would give it a try and if it did nopt fill the bill I would return it. When it arrived I hooked it up and tried all the micv inputs. The all sound the same. Chrystal clear and beautiful. I will be keeping it. I was surprised to find a set of ears to attach to it so that you can mount it in your rack. extra pleased.
Comments about Behringer XENYX 1002B 5-Channel Compact Mixer:
I've been using this mixer for about 1.5 years now to submix my 5 piece drum kit. It works great. I'm going to upgrade to one of the Behringer XYNYX mixer's with effects soon so I don't have to bring my midiverb anymore. This mixer has performed very well. I even used the battery option once at a wedding gig and it lasted the whole gig. I just had to shut it off between sets. Very happy with Behringer. Our subs are driven by the Europower 2400 and it has done very well now for 3 years.
