A PERFECT little mixer, for recording or live use!

Features:

All of the most-used basic features of a much bigger mixer.  A jewel in the studio, and it also can be a mixer for a mini-PA!

Quality:

It appears to be as well-made as it is well-thought-out.

Value:

It's a great little multi-tool to have around, for less money than a heavy-duty mic stand.

Overall:

I owned an earlier version of this for many years.  I initially bought it to enchance my old 4-track cassette recorder, and it made a WORLD of difference.  For one thing, I could use condenser microphones - the built-in phantom power alone was worth the price.  But I also noticed that it was pushing an audibly better signal onto the tape.  I gave it to a friend who was putting together a studio, and instantly missed it.

This time around I'm using the newer model, not only in the studio but also for a mini-PA mixer for coffehouse gigs.  I bought a small powered monitor, and run this into it.  I can use my good condenser microphone, and carry my PA in one hand - with the mixer in the gig bag!

It's got TONS of connectivity.  The engineers have thought of everything.  Just about anything you can think of, you can find a way to do.  This little gadget is a real problem solver.

I purchased this along with a pair of powered studio monitors so I can easily run my various sources through them. I'm somewhat disappointed with the power supply. Not only is there no power switch, but the connection needs to be better secured, being that this is such a small piece of gear. After 4 hours of use, I've already knocked the connector halfway out- which nearly damaged my new monitors. The power indicator LED is pretty much the same ultra-bright blue component that sits in the middle of my 32-Channel Allen & Heath. It'd be better suited to a high-end gaming PC case.

I bought 3 of these guys to use as monitor mixers for my studio. They work for my application, but there too much noise present to use for any recording, also it seems to cut all of the really high and really low frequencies. Just terrible quality sound through it. Buy a mackie or alesis if you are going to record through it.

For a little unit I'm digging it, I originally bought it for some dj applications, but have gotten more use from it for simple home recording of ideas.  Mic input works well and has enabled me to record some banjo tracks to my pc.  I have used it with my bass as well to practice, but have pretty lame headphones so can't make a good judgment on it in this capacity, but seemed to work fine, was using a di box to tweak the tone before the mixer.  With the rca input output lends itself to good practice tool and I have used it to interface my old turntable to my pc via a Behringer U-control usb interface.  For no more than I paid for the two items I'm pretty happy.  Would like a power switch though, thing can get rather warm left on.

Great for HP monitor mix...

We use this as a personal monitor mixer for the keyboardist.  We send a mono band mix to Ch.1 line-in and the keyboardist can adjust 2 stereo or 4 mono keyboards into the monitor mix.  The main-out goes to a powered speaker (SRM-150) for the option of monitoring without headphones.  So far, it works great.  I have concerns about Behringer in general, given so many widespread comments about quality/fail issues, but I haven't experienced any problems myself and for under $50 I'll take my chances. I took away a star on features and quality because there is no power switch, so it needs to be powered on/off from the power strip or by unplugging it.  Also, the power indicator LED is too bright...I mean blinding to the point you can't even look directly at the master section...it's like having a laser pointed into you eyeball, so I had to cover it with tape.
