Features:

For the size and price it has every thing except effects. the fantom is great and they did a great job filling this mixer with as many features as possible.

Quality:

Every thing feels great! usually buttons, even on more expensive mixers are to thin and may pop off if twisted right. these buttons are great and the inputs are sturdy as well.

Value:

Great quality, futures and price!

Overall:

This is great i would pay more than i did for this, and every thing is simple, but packed with nice features and is well built great buy and perfect for a DJ

Good little Mixer - a couple of small flaws!

| Review By: Richard Pearl | 1 month, 4 weeks ago

3 people out of 3 found this review helpful

Features:

This is an inexpensive mixer that does a good job. The controls all work well and the layout is easy to decipher and deal with on a continuing basis. The quality of the product is surprisingly good considering the selling price. The circuit board is a little on the thin side but is made of reasonably strong material and the parts are well soldered (by machine). The cabinet is steel and is again well laid out with the controls not too close together allowing easy access.

There are a couple of points that should be considered before purchasing the unit. Do not subject the mixer to severe shocks or place pressure on the knobs as they are not supported by the chassis but rather the circuit board which could crack under undue pressure. Better designed mixers place a shoulder at the bottom of the knobs which contact the metal chassis and thus do not put excess pressure on the board. This however, will only come into play if excessive force is put on the knobs.

The purchaser will notice the absense of an on-off switch which is a bother as the only way to

shut off the machine is to unplug the unit. This should be accomplished by removing the plug from the wall (mains) not by unplugging the connecter at the back of the machine. The connector used is not made to be continuously handled in this manner. Because of the design of the circuitry, which in corporates a center tapped AC transformer, the usual DC wall rat plug is not used but rather a cheap three prong plug which is not suited to continuous use. Including an on off switch would eliminate this problem as would the use of a better plug assembly.

Other than these two points this unit does a good job off providing good sound, equalization and flexability at a very affordable price.

XENYX 802: Excellent for the money

| Review By: Eli Jones | 3 months, 4 weeks ago

Features:

For a cheap mixer, you can't expect much. In this case, it doesn't even have a power switch (plugged = on). This is really a no frills setup, but if you're looking in this price range, you aren't looking for sub channels or built in effects. For a simple computer recording setup though, you can't do much better than this in terms of price/performance.

Quality:

I was surprised to find that the chassis is actually made of metal as opposed to plastic. The mixer itself is dead silent for recording (another welcome supprise) and makes for an excellent unobtrusive/portable setup. My only gripe is that the phantom power on mine takes FOREVER to turn off unless I just unplug the mixer, and even then the light stays on for about 15 seconds. Not sure if this is a design flaw or a defect in mine. Aside from this minor issue though, can't find any problem.

Value:

I got this for a cheap and small recording setup to keep in my room. I must say, I am very impressed. The 3-band EQ works wonderfully, there is the possibility for an external effects loop, and I can hook up everything I need to do quick recordings with friends (bass, guitar, mic, and keyboard). It even has phantom power so you can plug in a nice condenser. For the price, you can't go wrong with this.

Overall:

If you need a cheap mixer for casual recording, this is for you. For me, it was between this and a similar Mackie board that cost twice as much. I'm quite glad I went with this, as it does absolutely everything I need, I got to spend the extra money on a new sound card, and I still have enough left over to go out to dinner. Excellent product for an excellent price.

musician and sound reinforcment

| Review By: Dan Yee | 3 months, 4 weeks ago

2 people out of 5 found this review helpful

Features:

unreliable features, needs to be redesign in the engineering department, so the unit can be

reliable.

Quality:

right channel overheated and completely lost the right channel during a DJ job.

channel two has alot of hiss sound and it has gotten worst and that was without an input.

channel one is alot quieter, but still noisy.

Value:

I don't recommend this product to anyone, unless they plan to throw money out the window.

Overall:

The product would have been easier to transport if it had everything in one unit, because of

the transformer I have accidentally left it on the power strip during tear down and luckily

the other band members saw it and asked that anyone is missing a transformer.

Since I've only owned this mixer for abour three years and probably used it a dozen times it should have broken so soon. VERY UNRELIABLE...

XENYX 802 Mixer

| Review By: Joe Ward | 4 months, 2 days ago

1 people out of 1 found this review helpful

Features:

One thing that this has that is very nice is the Phantom Power.

It also has a little bit of an EQ with Low Mid and Trebble controls

Quality:

The quality right out of the box is great. They pay attention to detail and make sure its the same quality as their higher end products. I have experiance operating a 20 input mixer with all the features they offer, and the quality that is put into this small inexpensive mixer is the same.

Value:

This product has a great price on it, you are definitely getting more than what you pay for.

Overall:

There aren't many features with this particular mixer, but it does a good job at doing it what it is supposed to do with the ones it has available. You will see that the quality of this mixer is comparable to bigger and better mixers.

For how much you are paying for this you will be happy with the purchase. I would recommend this product for anyone that wants a mixer for any type of use but doesn't need a large one
