I'm a church sound guy that uses an Allen & Heath GL2200-32 at church. I'm very comfortable with that board, and desired a board for my occasional live jobs that would be familiar to me, with no learning curve. This board fits the bill perfectly. It has the same layout. The only features that it doesn't share (that I've noticed so far), are the line pads, phase inverts, and level meters on each channel. This last is disappointing for me. The XL3200 does have signal and peak led's, but the GL2200 has 2 more in between, making for an adequate level display without having to pfl each channel. Incidentally, the board does indeed have 28 pre's, and individual phantom power switches for each channel (a big deal for me). Last summer, I used an A&H SR424Plus, and had trouble with two things. The global phantom power was giving me trouble with noise from stuff other than the mics and di's that needed it; and the channel mutes that have no indicator lamps. I often missed opening muted channels. Memory loss is a drag. This console fixes both issues for me. I haven't had the board out yet, so take my ratings for quality with a grain of salt. I do now have five Behringer boards, from the very small on up. I've not had any failures fom the other four, except for a power supply failure, which was caused by my running on choppy inverter power. I bought two of them used. I have confidence in this board, but did opt for the protection package. This is the first one that cost enough to not be considered disposable, and our local repair tech doesn't repair Behringers.

To make a long horror story short, this mixer is awful. The price will draw you in at first, but beware, in this case you really do get what you pay for. I bought this mixer for our church hoping to add some additional channels and save a few bucks. By the time I had paid to ship it to a repair facility (twice in two months) I realized it was not worth it and set up a return. Little did I realize that neither musicians friend or Behringer would refund money for this item!!! In the end I had to settle for musicians friend store credit, which is better then having a piece of garbage around like this mixer. Anyway, I got a Mackie board instead and it not only sounds WAY better, but is much more sturdy and reliable. No sound issues. Make the investment and get better sound. Trust me on this!!!

Comments about Behringer XENYX XL3200 Live Mixer:
I have owned Tapco,Peavey,Soundcraft,Yamaha,Sony and Mackie mixers over the years. They were all dependable, but I was always looking for another aux send or needed more eq or somebody needs another input.... This console solves all that at such a low price I could buy another in case it goes the way of some of the reviews here. But I have several old ones to carry as a spare.
Has all the features at 10th of the price.
6 months and no problems. I thought I had a bad channel and was ready to start trashing but it was a bad mic cable.
At this price it is a crazy value.
Comments about Behringer XENYX XL3200 Live Mixer:
Over the years Behringers reputation has suffered. I won't argue that. They are on the right path now. I like their stuff. Not just because of the cost. The features, ease of use, and reliability. I have the Xenex 2442. Never one issue with it. I keep it as a back up or if it's a smaller venue. The Xenex XL3200 has been flawless for me. The individual phantom power is/ was a selling point. I hate mixers that power all the channels. The set up is so easy to use, less complicated than the 2442. I personnaly love this mixer. The failures people are complaining about, on some, may be quality control issues. Some of what needs to be considered are; How many people are messing with this thing? Kids messing with things they shouldn't? Is it covered at night? Is it getting moved around? Accidental pulling of cords? Food and drinks around the console? Last but not least, Does the person behind the board have a clue? Electronics can only take so much abuse before something breaks! Take extra care of your stuff, and it will last you for a long time. Behringer is no different. Put it in a case!
Comments about Behringer XENYX XL3200 Live Mixer:
I bought this board trying to save some money and still get a lot of channels. Man did I mess up. I read reviews and researched behringer stuff for weeks before I made this purchase. The main channel outs when out on me within 6 months. I have been dealing with behringer on the warranty fix for a while. Its a big mess. Stay away from this mixer.

I have had tangent,peavey,soundcraft.mackie.tapco,yamaha...rane.and others....before I would buy a new one ...look at an old one...all the cool stuff you want and even sometimes need this has,,,,but you just don't count on them,,thats why I bought the 32...and figure you have 24 that will work @100%...just not the same ones every show......give back my yamaha,,,keep your mackies,,,,but over all for the price you just might get the good one....but think what the next board you want...when you buy this cuz you need the channels..go for a sidecar mixer

Comments about Behringer XENYX XL3200 Live Mixer:
First, the console is layed out just like the Midas. That says enough about the features. The issues I had were with reliability. Over 3 months of use, we lost the left main send, mon 2 send, and two of the channel gains went nuts (one very hot, the other very low). I used the factory warranty to send it in for repair. They opted to send a new unit to me. I tried to sell it at that point and could only get $200 for the console, new in the box. I purchased a Mackie vlz3 and have the Behringer as a spare.
Comments about Behringer XENYX XL3200 Live Mixer:
I own one of these. Main right channel went out. I opened up the unit. There are a lot of ribbon connectors. I found that 50% of the ribbon connectors were not seated completely. Push carefully on all the connectors, especially those closest to back of unit (they are a little harder to reach). Problem solved.I still live this board. For the $, can't be beat.
Comments about Behringer XENYX XL3200 Live Mixer:
I bought one of these boards but had to return it withing 30 days due to the 2nd effect loop dropping out intermittently. I thought it was an isolated problem so I had it replaced with a new unit and withing 30 days on that I had a problem with the left stereo channel dropping in and out. The board has a lot of nice features but unfortunatly for me it proved to be too unreliable.
Comments about Behringer XENYX XL3200 Live Mixer:
Just started using this mixer. I am very pleased with the sound quality and functionality. For the price it almost seems to be too good to be true. Its just been fun to use this board. EQ operates very smoothly and predictable. Excellent features everywhere. Buy it. You won't be disappointed and can't go wrong for the price.
Comments about Behringer XENYX XL3200 Live Mixer:
Independent phantom power on each channel, six aux sends and board sounds great. Only problem is one lamp socket is loose. This is a quality control issue but the board works just like a Midas Venice 320. It has the same features and the lay out is the same. Good job behringer!
