I am so happy with my EXO 2.1 system. I listen to music for work all day as I sit at my computer. This system is perfect for my small office and computer desk. I get a very full sound thanks to the low end provided by the separate sub. When I was getting used to listening to everything as an mp3 on computer speakers, these speakers reminded me how things should sound. You don't have to sacrifice sound quality just because you are listening to music at your desk on your computer.

I wish I could comment on how these monitors sound, but the unit I received was defective and so messed up that I couldn't get program sound to even come out of them. However, it was clear upon personal inspection that these are made with low quality control and sub-par design standards, so I ordered a pair of Yamaha HS50M monitors instead of simply asking for a replacement. Threads for the isolation feet on the sub were tapped badly and hard to mount. The drivers in the satellites are mounted with torx bolts and all the torx heads looked completely stripped and scuffed up. The sub driver has a cheap nylon grill cover instead of something solid that would protect it from stray feet, and you cannot even remove the grill cover--it seems glued on. The DIN connector was misaligned and therefore impossible to insert the DIN cable fully without removing some plastic from the connector. (The interior was a gluey mess so it was impossible to realign the DIN connector). The cabinets are cheap pressboard with sharp corners and a finish that will scuff/ding easily.

This system sounds good in the store....but quality control is awful. The system I bought was totally defective, only right speaker worked. Do not buy unless you have the time to take it back and repair frequently. NOT GOOD>

A Correction

By Randy-lVydI

from Elyria Ohio

I posted a review of this system a few weeks back that didn't speak highly of this product but I have to correct that by saying I not only was contacted by Blue Sky but they were very proactive in getting my system up and running again. I recieved emails almost everyday that kept me in the loop as to when my parts would arrive and offered any assistance they could to guide me in the repair. Other than having to deal with the break-down itself, which might lessen it's value to some, I had no trouble at all with installing the parts which also came with a filter and the system sounds better than ever. I admit to some trepidation in buying something from a company I had not heard from but the product is great for my applications and the price was beyond reasonable. They're a great company. I stand corrected.

Great sound!

By Tibsy

Have these on my desk at work, where I am constantly listening to music, evaluating, and editing. They are perfect for my needs; given that I listen to music almost all day, they never tire my ears out, and are always pleasant to listen to. Frequency response is great for a system this size, especially in the highs. Left-right imaging is also really nice and precise on this system. Definitely a great value and nice sounding speakers.

The Blue Sky EXO 2.1 monitoring system is an excellent alternative to consumer grade "computer" speakers. A variety of hobbyists and pros in the media arts will benefit from this inexpensive upgrade to their system. They are pleasant to listen to over a long period of time and exhibit outstanding imaging for a system in their price range. I have mixed a wide variety of national TV adverts on them with highly satisfying results. Well done!

Very happy

By Jeminla

from Los Angeles

Just opened up my Blue Sky EXO and used it to play back some old mixes, very surprising in what I am hearing from such an inexpensive system. I can hear some stuff at the low end I would never have heard from any other desktop system. I am very happy with this purchase ( I had a gift voucher and decided to go with Blue Sky). My first delight was how easy it was to plug in my ipod and listen without any hassle, the sound quality added to the satisfaction. Build quality is way better than I would have expected from something in this price range.I gotta now get rid of my crappy computer speakers and also think about getting a bigger Blue Sky system for my small studio. I like the media desk system as you can upgrade to surround. Thanks

Blue Sky EXO

By Sidder

from Arlington, TX

Although I have used and heard better monitoring than the EXO, I have seldom heard better sound quality for this size system. I've used them for about 3 months now for my home studio and have had no problems. Once I'd calibrated them,(I used John Melncamp's "Paper and Fire" - I'm not a big fan, but I think it is one of the best produced rock songs I've heard). I discovered that the subwoofer gives the most accurate response turned all the way up although the sound is not as fat as I would like. I was a bit apprehensive at first but, after using them, overall I'd say that I would not be able to find this kind of quality for the same money. My only real complaint is that the headphone jack cancells the speakers (I just like to compare back and forth sometimes and this feature makes it a little cumbersome.

Power supply went out....Do not buy...

I owned a Blue Sky EXO 2.1 for four months, and then the power supply in the subwoofer went out suddenly during the middle of my recording process, and it now only blows fuses. Avoid...
