I use these for tracking live drums. These do a fantastic job of keeping outside noise out when playing; even to the point where I have to have the drum kit signal fed into the monitor mix or I will even slide one ear partially off to get a little clarity on the cymbals.

Sound is great and you can hear everything very clearly and you don't even have to monitor at an unsafe level to do so.

I have used the brand that costs 3x as much as these, and while they sound fine, I do not feel they were noticeably better than these, certainly not worth the significant difference in cost. I also found those to be much less comfortable; my head felt like it was in a vice after wearing those for two hours. The CADs can still be a little heavy, as any isolation headphone generally is after prolonged use, but they are very manageable, they sound terrific, and the price cannot be beat. Highly recommend.

I was initially pleased with these headphones but I started to notice that they became uncomfortable after prolonged use. Also, the sound transmission has started to falter within, ballpark figure, 5 months- I'm hearing static noise sometimes when I touch the cord simply to move it. Furthermore, I take care of my equipment including these headphones. I have not subjected these to any rough treatment so it's a bit disappointing that they've started to falter so soon. As with anything else, you get what you pay for. My advice would be to shell out twice to three times as much for a more durable, more comfortable set of phones. It may seem odd that I would recommend these to a friend, but I bought them for a reasonable price, they've lasted 5 months, and they are not totally unusable yet. Just starting to develop those quirks. Cheers.

Comments about CAD DH100 Drummer isolation headphones:

I have used so many headphones over the years; these headphones are a true value. I used them in radio, as I wanted to keep as much sound from bleeding into the Mic as I can. These headphones do have a fairly high output, and bass response is there. However, they are not as flat as I would like for them to be, as some of the range is hyped. But make no mistake, they're still a very good pair of headphones. Although they place some preasure on your head, it's not too bad. For this price, you can't go wrong. Some other isolation headphones are better,(EX-2x series, for example) but these do not cost as much. I use these as a backup set, and will keep them around forever.

Comments about CAD DH100 Drummer isolation headphones:

Excellent sound to value ratio. Used to practice with Roland TD25 drum set in small apartment. Sound quality is more than adequate. Coiled cord is to short to reach drum set module and not be in the way while playing. An extension cable easily solved this problem. Ear cups become a little uncomfortable after extended use, but this is practice and pain builds character.

If you are unfortunate enough to have an errant drumstick smack the outside of the ear cup, your delicate earlobe will be well protected by the molded plastic however that ear will be deafened for a short time. Try to avoid this.

Comments about CAD DH100 Drummer isolation headphones:

I needed headphones for practicing drums that attenuated the outside noise (the drums) enough that the recorded music could be heard. These almost let in too much outside noise, and I maybe should have gone with one of the 25dB isolation models, but, at this price, 19dB is pretty good. Also, it is probably better to have a tad more drum sound coming in rather than totally playing by sense of feel. The sound quality seems fine, although an audiophile might argue that point. These certainly work better than most headphones I've used for drumming and you can't bet the price.

Comments about CAD DH100 Drummer isolation headphones:

As with most things, you get what you pay for. I was astonished at some of the other reviews about this product. Comfortable?? Wearing these headphones for just 5 minutes I feel like if I wear them much longer, I will develop cauliflower ears. After no more than 10 minutes I have to take them off. The plastic covering is cheap, the foam padding is practically non-existent, the frame is too rigid, i.e. they clamp down too tight on your head, they're bulky and cumbersome, the spiral telephone type cord is annoying and unnecessary, not to mention after a few short uses I am getting static from poor solder connections. There is literally nothing good I can say about this product. If you like to see money burn, then roll up your twenties and burn them, because that's what you'll be doing purchasing CAD DH100 headphones.

WAY better than a similar pair I'd been using by Vic Firth for years. These keep out more outside noise, are more comfortable, and look better. As an added bonus, my drums actually sound amazing when I hear what sound bleeds though the headphones. they cut out a lot of the highs and these sweet, warm, low tomes are all thats left.

Comments about CAD DH100 Drummer isolation headphones:

I've owned the Vic Firth isolation headphones, which were good, but more expensive and less comfortable than these. I've only owned them for 2 weeks--so I cannot speak to durability, but my more expensive set died within a year. These are a great buy. Very comfortable, good sound isolation, and good sound quality. These things will save a drummer's ears. You can play your music more quietly while hearing your drums clearly and in a balanced fashion.

I was on the search for headphones that I could use with my electronic drumset and my acoustic drumset. Most of the studio headphones had way to many bad reviews from the playback of bass or treble sounds. I needed a pair of headphones that could provide isolation from the sounds of the surrounding environment and be able to dampen tones while playing the acoustic drumset. The price was in the price range I was looking for. I would highly recommend these headphones to another drummer or keyboardist.

Ordered these for my drum practices. Was currently using some iPod ear headphones with some lumberjack sound isolation headphones I ordered online. This is much better, perfect for drum practicing. You hear your drums, you hear the music more than clear enough. The only thing I didn't like was the cord is coiled and heavy and is to one side( hi hat side) might be a problem to some. AweSome phones.
