I use these for tracking live drums. These do a fantastic job of keeping outside noise out when playing; even to the point where I have to have the drum kit signal fed into the monitor mix or I will even slide one ear partially off to get a little clarity on the cymbals.
Sound is great and you can hear everything very clearly and you don't even have to monitor at an unsafe level to do so.
I have used the brand that costs 3x as much as these, and while they sound fine, I do not feel they were noticeably better than these, certainly not worth the significant difference in cost. I also found those to be much less comfortable; my head felt like it was in a vice after wearing those for two hours. The CADs can still be a little heavy, as any isolation headphone generally is after prolonged use, but they are very manageable, they sound terrific, and the price cannot be beat. Highly recommend.

I've owned the Vic Firth isolation headphones, which were good, but more expensive and less comfortable than these. I've only owned them for 2 weeks--so I cannot speak to durability, but my more expensive set died within a year. These are a great buy. Very comfortable, good sound isolation, and good sound quality. These things will save a drummer's ears. You can play your music more quietly while hearing your drums clearly and in a balanced fashion.

I was on the search for headphones that I could use with my electronic drumset and my acoustic drumset. Most of the studio headphones had way to many bad reviews from the playback of bass or treble sounds. I needed a pair of headphones that could provide isolation from the sounds of the surrounding environment and be able to dampen tones while playing the acoustic drumset. The price was in the price range I was looking for. I would highly recommend these headphones to another drummer or keyboardist.

I have used so many headphones over the years; these headphones are a true value. I used them in radio, as I wanted to keep as much sound from bleeding into the Mic as I can. These headphones do have a fairly high output, and bass response is there. However, they are not as flat as I would like for them to be, as some of the range is hyped. But make no mistake, they're still a very good pair of headphones. Although they place some preasure on your head, it's not too bad. For this price, you can't go wrong. Some other isolation headphones are better,(EX-2x series, for example) but these do not cost as much. I use these as a backup set, and will keep them around forever.

Ordered these for my drum practices. Was currently using some iPod ear headphones with some lumberjack sound isolation headphones I ordered online. This is much better, perfect for drum practicing. You hear your drums, you hear the music more than clear enough. The only thing I didn't like was the cord is coiled and heavy and is to one side( hi hat side) might be a problem to some. AweSome phones.
