Closed-back headphones are not just for isolation. They have a very different soundfield from semi-open or on-ear cans. The MH300 pair that I bought on sale from Musicians Friend represent a worthy entry into the closed-back arena for a really bargain price. They beat some 150 bux cans I have in my studio and are simple in design with a fairly durable build. The bass frequencies are slightly up but not insanely so like the ones from a doctor whose name I'll leave out. These CAD phones are very musical and have a very even frequency response that is quite easy to EQ to your taste. Unlike those from said doctor. Comfort is really at a high level for closed back headphones. Those who complain about them being tight should gently bend the wire framing to accommodate their head size. That's why they use wire frames on this design of headphone. As for those who complain of not being able to handle high SPLs, I tested these to nominal levels on three different preamps (nominal means just below the level that is uncomfortably loud) and there was just a slight
distortion on a couple of very low bass notes. I use frequency specific tone recordings to test speakers and phones. The doctors headphones, by the way, distorted vigorously at all frequencies
at the same SPL. So the choice is of course yours. Pay 300+ clams for a pair of sub-standard cans that have a cute little "b" on them or wait for the next time these come up on the Stupid Deal of the Day at 1/12 that price and wear a pair of cans that sound and look professional.

The Cad MH-300 headphones are O.K. .little bulky but light . There not as good as my Sony 7506's are Sennheiser HD-280's for home studio . but for all other everyday application's there O.K. . they could be used as recording headphone's if your on a budget .you will have to increase the volume on the device you are listening from. they are not very loud . on the upside you will cut down on over driving your 50mm drivers . they have good clarity. if you can buy these phone's at a good price. i think you will be pleased.

Comments about CAD MH300 Closed-Back Studio Headphones:

These headphones are impressive! Using them with my home studio, they block out unwanted sounds very well. They sound wonderful with their 50mm drivers. Also, the long cord is handy. I let my friend try them with his Roland electronic drums. He said they sounded so much better than his Dr. Beats. On top of all of this, Musicians Friend had a GREAT sale on them....I ended buying a second set. They are a must have.

Was looking for an inexpensive set of headphones for practicing through my Pod HD400 and for occasional recording. I had tried others in the price range and usually found them to be too muddy, but these have crisp, clear highs and still boom when you want them too!

These cans cant handle moderate sound pressure levels. Terrible distortion on drums and bass. OK for listening to music.
DON'T BUY if you are a professional or want to be. Do more research and get better quality maybe at a higher price.
          I bought 4 at a low price and now wish I hadn't.

Comments about CAD MH300 Closed-Back Studio Headphones:

I am SO PLEASED with these headphones! They are SUPER comfortable and fit perfectly. They sit off of my ears, which means that I can listen to music for hours at a time now. This comes in handy when you are recording.

At first, they didn't have a good bass, but I realized that the problem was with my computer and NOT the headphones. I pushed one button in the sound settings on my computer, and the bass was so loud that I almost jumped!

They are a little bulky, but I don't care. I just wanted something to use for my recording instead of earbuds.

These headphones are so clear that I'm able to hear instruments in songs that I couldn't hear before! (Like soft cello parts, etc.)

So I bought these on a whim. Im using them for a serious project I'm recording as a set of cans for use while tracking. The problem is they have such exaggerated bass and a big mid cut that they just sound overly bright w/o any mid clarity. Shrill is the best word for them - shrill while being muddy. YMMV.

Comments about CAD MH300 Closed-Back Studio Headphones:

These are nice headphones, but I wanted to caution users that these do not handle high SPL very well. In a professional setting these are far too easy to damage. They're probably fine in a home setting where sound levels aren't very loud, and where accidental bursts of SPL are less likely.

Otherwise they're reasonably comfortable and sound clean.

These don't look at all cool, and they aren't tuned to make the bass go BOOM BOOM BOOM. They are comfortable, exceptionally clear and precise headphones. Good value, and when MF has them on sale, they're the best deal in headphones I could find anywhere.

I was very impressed with the sound difference. I can also listen with these on for hours at a time never hurting the edge of my ear.

Comments about CAD MH300 Closed-Back Studio Headphones:

Don't let the 4-star rating fool you, these are quality cans for the price point (Stupid Deal price) and provide decent enough sound to do some home recordings, monitor tracks, even good enough isolation to track drums without issue. I find them a little heavy on the bass end, and they don't have as much clarity as phones 10x this price, but you really get a lot for your money on these. Funny that the 1-star rating expected pro quality for under thirty, what did they expect? You don't buy a Kia and expect it to ride like a Rolls. But it gets you where you need to go, kind of like how these headphones work for exactly what you'd expect headphones at this price point to do.

I picked these up on the SDOTD and they have not disappointed. I use them to practice cover songs for my new band and I can hear everything clearly. Exactly what I was looking for.

The frequency response is wider than my Bose Quiet Comfort 15. Deeper Bass and the efficiency it is very good. It is a great deal for the price.

Fairly comfortable and adjustable. The lowest frequencies and highest frequencies drop a bit. I've had about a year. At this price very nice. Work great with my computer.
