    Excellent

I got this as a Christmas present, and it worked like a charm from day one. The tones on here can be very versatile but I would like to get the full version of Guitar Rig in order to fully capitalize on this software. That being said it still gives you really good tone from all the integrated things within the LE Guitar Rig. I'm very pleased with this software.

    impossible

    By big papa

i spent a good 24 hours of my life on this stupid software. It seems all cool, but the guitar program shown with amps and stuff, you have to buy seperately. The usb port plays loud acoustic sounds from your electric guitar that overpowers anything you try to do, oh and its off, no matter how much you change the latency, if you value your sanity dont buy this.

Only works on 32 bit windows

    By Andy-rOKBz

    from Ashland Ky

I just bought a new laptop and thought being current on software would be a good thing. Well, apparently the cakewalk people dont agree with that logic. This software is NOT compatible with the newest version of vista. It only works with the 32 bit version. Check your version before buying. Now I have to pay to send this back and try to find another product. Looks like a good product. Has everything I was looking for except compatibility. I fault Cakewalk on this one.

If you ever get it working . . .

Well, it goes like this. The first one they sent me had already been registered by someone else, so I had to return it and get a replacement. The second one wouldn't work properly (the plugins weren't recognized by the software that they came with) despite numerous reinstalls. Finally, Cakewalk sent me instructions how to go into THE REGISTRY of my computer and delete some things (SCARY) that were left over from the previous install. Then I reinstalled and it worked except every time I opened the software, I had to tell it to use the UA-1G as the playback device. So Cakewalk sent me instructions and a patch to change my REGISTRY again. Don't like getting in there too often. Not a PC whiz at all. Anyway, I would have returned it, but Musicians Friend doesn't refund on opened software. That said, now that it is all fixed, it does seem like some pretty descent software. But never in my life have I had so much grief from software, and I have been messing with computers since the 80s! If I had it to do over, I would have passed on this P.O.S. I had GT 2 before, and although it didn't have all the bells and whistles, it didn't have all the hassles either.

    Very Satisfied

    By Gibson-6-string

I purchased GT4 PRO USB from Musician?s Friend and have been using it for several months on a Dell 1525 - XP laptop. I am new to PC recording ? I first used GT4 Pro to ?enhance? 24 mp3 recordings that originated on a Tascam 4-track tape recorder. Enhancements included quality of sound, effects, and changes to tempo. There was a learning curve? and helpful info was located in the Help Files and at Cakewalk?s website - including the Guitar Tracks forum. Cakewalk updated the UA-IG driver and I learned to turn-off the Wireless network because of CPU overhead. I have also recorded songs with an electric guitar plugged into the UA-1G interface. The first song included 5-guitar tracks mixed and saved to an mp3 file. I used Guitar Rig 3 and Cakewalk effects (included with the product) and the quality is excellent. I plan to learn Studio Instruments and many other product features. For some full reviews of this product - go to Google and enter ?Review Cakewalk Guitar Tracks 4 USB?.

It can do more than record guitar tracks!

I purchased this 3/12/10, before it was even expected to be Windows 7 compatible, I have a HP Pavilion dv6, Home premium 64 bit. It installed first try, no problems ever since! I have added only a few plugins, for more than simple projects, you're covered. Stydio Instruments, and the additional content in the loop explorer, give more than enough choices to get up, and rocking. Not real sure, why all the problems, I'm reading about compatibility, and installion, but for the money, it does everything it says, and then some! I have already recommended it to several friends, and will continue to do so!
