This light is pretty cool! It's not the brightest light ever, but it gets the job done. If you are in a venue where it is dark or very dim, this light will be awesome! I use 2 of these with fog and it makes the room come alive! I also use 2 other moonflower lights from Spencers and some led bars. These just look awesome on the far ends of my light bar. They are not dmx or master/slave, but they look awesome when you run more than one at a time, kinda makes the lights look chaotic and random, which is exactly what they are! Lots of videos on youtube show the light not having a great throw or coverage area, but i assure you, if you play with the angle on the mirror, you will get more throw and coverage area. I put them as far up as i could and they have a great coverage area that way. Good stand alone light, but I recommend getting at least 2 and they not be your primary light. Make sure you have more than just this. Fog works awesome!!!!

This is a good simple effect. Have not had them long so I cannot speak on durability. Light weight yet sturdy housing. The location of the hanger on the body was poorly engineered and no were near the point of balance. This makes adjusting and making them stay put a little bit of a hassle. But a little ingenuity of our own is necessary for the performing arts. Some wire or gaffers tape, done. The sound active mode works well and when hung with the 360 clamps ( buy these too )I purchased, some adjustment of mirror angle, you can put the light beams where you want them.Mixed these with the LS5's in a fog environment and it's pretty impressive. It's insane how these things attract hundreds of June bugs though ... LOL

I bought two of these and really like them a lot. They work good for the small venues we do. You can fine tune the sensitivity of the mic so that you can talk through the mics and they stay put but when you hit the drums and guitars, they start to dance. they are even better with some fog.

Comments about Chauvet LX10 LED Moonflower Effect Light:
This light works well, dosnt put off heat, is small, and light.
I am very happy I spent the extra ten to get the scanning unit as compaired to the stationary unit.
Covers roughly a six - eight foot circle and scans half a garage.
You should hook up to a light strip you can turn on and off, because this unit, along with my strobes, have no power swich.
Worth the cash, good, but not great.

Comments about Chauvet LX10 LED Moonflower Effect Light:
Bought two of these units. One had a broken motor/mirror assembly (the screws holding the motor/mirror plastic assembly broke free from the outer housing) which required gluing the item back together. Otherwise, they do their thing quite well.
Comments about Chauvet LX10 LED Moonflower Effect Light:
As another reviewer stated, the mounting bracket on the LX10 does not equally balance the weight of the light, which can present a little hassle for getting the light to be at a specific angle, but a little ingenuity fixes that problem.
I purchased a pair of these lights that I mount on either side of a Chauvet Trident Centerpiece on an On-Stage Stands Lighting Stand with 10' Truss (LS7730). I also have Chauvet Techno Strobes (ST2000S) on the outside corners of each lighting stand. For simplicity, I set all of the lights for sound activation - adjusting the sensitivity for each light to a quick soundcheck during setup. Strobes only flash for the extraordinarily hard hits, Trident bounces to the heavier dance beats, and LX10's are set to move to pretty much any solid beat.
On the truss, I have mounted the LX10's to the top bar and allow the base of each light to rest on the bottom bar, which provides great coverage for a medium dance floor with the lighting stand raised at full height. Using American DJ O-Clamps I also don't have any fear of a clamp coming loose and having a light fall from its position.
I'm a guy who loves an exciting, uniformed and syncronized lighting rig. Buying two of the LX10's has done a great job of providing some visual excitement to the dance floor and even without complete DMX control of what my lights do, my lighting rig inspires a lot of positive feedback from party-goers. More importantly, it halps draw people to the dance floor. That's exactly what I had hoped for.
Comments about Chauvet LX10 LED Moonflower Effect Light:
As I thought, this light only turns the mirror on one axis, (left and right). The light is basic but it really is bright and fills the room quite well. The compact case is very sturdy and well made and I would suggest this light to anyone just starting out and low on a budget. The only downside I really hate is the fact that it does not have a power switch on it. This won't be an issue if you use a DMX controlled switch.

Comments about Chauvet LX10 LED Moonflower Effect Light:
We have 2 LX10s on our band's lighting truss and they do a great job of creating visual interest out on the edge of the audience. To really get the most bang for your buck, you need fog or smoke - we've used a fog machine and also a couple of sticks of incense and the beams really stand out. The units aren't real flexible in terms of positioning and they have a tendency to "fall" out of the position you put them in unless you wire them up. They come instantly on when controlled with a DMX dimmer (which solves the "no off" problem) and make a nice end-cap addition to our light setup. They are very light weight and we can carry two of them in a Gator double drum pedal bag for protection. Carry a soft cloth to clean the mirrors. They're worth the money of you're looking for some glitz without spending a lot.
Comments about Chauvet LX10 LED Moonflower Effect Light:
Just got them in, great shipping time. Mounted them above my par 36 led cans.(Only 5 pounds apiece) Holds up pretty good. Bright enough to light up a good sized dance floor, the cans I use to add some ceiling light. Glad I ordered 2. Some kind of "off" control would be good, for those wedding moments when you don't want dancing lights, maybe next time.
