The Matrix Y by CME is a 4-channel headphone amplifier for your home project studio. It's also got a unique talkback function that and an extra set of outputs so you can stack multiple units to expand your system.
Each of the headphone outputs have their own individual level control so everyone in the studio sets the perfect listening volume for themselves. So what do you do if you have more than 4 people in your band or classroom? No problem because the Line Outputs on one Matrix Y can be connected to the Line Ins on another expanding your headphone system in groups of 4.
The unique built-in talkback Mic allows for easy communication between everyone wearing headphones. Simply push the talkback button and every one can hear you clearly because the Line In signal is automatically attenuated by 20 dB. This was the first and only headphone amp i
Well, what can I say, I bought it, I use it, it's a very simple stereo input bus to stereo output bus amplifier! It has a very nice feature that most other don't, the pushbutton on the front that engages/disengages the room condenser mic...With that said, there is also a major drawback! It expects in and outs! This means your monitors can be plugged into the backside! However, something their engineers forgot to add was a disconnect switch to the monitor output! My Rockit8's have volume rotary controls on the back! This means I have to get up and turn the knobs in the back of my monitors every time I'm trying to mix through my headphones? What a hassle! That in itself is worth returning the product back to the manufacturer! But heck, with a drill and a couple switches from RadioShack this problem will be easily solved! Spending $100.00 on the unit to drill it and add on off switches for the monitors is not my idea of a top product! I'm still perplexed as to how that slipped their mind! It's a major drawback for this otherwise great product!
