This amp is a solid bargain. There's no noise during operation. Without the power lamp, you wouldn't know its on. Sound quality is excellent. I'm running two of these into JBL speakers with DBX driverack PA and a Yamaha mixer. This is a great amp for small to medium sized venues. At this price, I could see the more adventuresome getting a couple for home theater use. The amp runs cool with sufficient overhead.

I was very disappointed in the performance. I bought two of these to power stage monitors at a 150 person theatre. The monitors are rated at 175 watts at 8 ohms. They would be great for acoustic or jazz sets but, any type of music where you have to push a little harder they clip at the drop of a hat. I know I needed to get a larger amp to create a little headroom but for the price I thought it was worth a try. Maybe in a home studio setting.

Comments about Crown X1000 Stereo 2x300W Power Amp:

Haven't had it very long but it appears to be doing the job. I have it hooked up to my monitors and it really boosted the sound.
Will also use it on my mains but haven't yet. I'm just learning how to use this type equipment so I'm sure when I get more experience I will understand what it's doing for me. I have had no problems so far so I would recommend the product.

Comments about Crown X1000 Stereo 2x300W Power Amp:

I purchased two of these at the same time, I'm using one in stereo on mains, and the other for two separate monitor mixes.

I figured "300 x2" ...that's plenty. But that's at 4 ohms. At 8 ohms, it's only 200. But that's just enough for my application, which is a small-ish room, seating about 50 people, with no drums in the mix. I'm only amplifing acoustic guitars, violin, vocals and a keyboard. For that purpose, it works.

Also, I've tried it with my home stereo set up, which is a set of vintage Vandersteens which had previously been powered by a 70s Yamaha receiver, at 75w per channel. So the 200w per channel got things very dynamic, very quickly. Vocals popped a little better. Bottom end was more crisp.

The sound quality of the amp is very high, in the right application. If you're trying to use it for mains on an outdoor gig, it likely will not cut it.

    Can't Beat a Crown

Comments about Crown X1000 Stereo 2x300W Power Amp:

I have another X Series Crown, same power rating. It is working fine, but the price on this was so good I had to buy it as a backup.

My other head has been in constant use for five years and is not hinting at any problems.I saw someone criticize it for having RCA in - but that's just an option for DJ's. It has XLR in, like most pro gear now. "Binding Posts" out just means banana plugs like any other pro amp.

One thing better than my presently in use Crown is dual fans and a parallel mode - that is, if you only have one line in but want to run two speakers without mono bridging and lowering impedance.

200 "Crown watts" per side @ 8 OHM's. Price vs. quality, I'd give it a six if there were one more star!

Comments about Crown X1000 Stereo 2x300W Power Amp:

Bought this amp to use in a studio-type setting at home to power (4) Klipsch Forte II speakers. Just wanted a new amp with plenty of drive for these full range boxes. I'm happy with the purchase, especially for the GREAT sale price I can't post, I think it was well worth it for the power and quality.

My only issue is that I will need to run another electrical circuit to my room because this amp does draw quite a bit of power compared to the rest of my gear!

How can you beat the price for this name??? It's a great little power amp! We have 4 18" cabinets and really believe in having that "pumping sound"! I am SO happy with the way it pushes one of my bottom 18" speakers. I have two amps for this purpose and another 1600 watts for the other two....better to have too much than not enough!!! LOL

Comments about Crown X1000 Stereo 2x300W Power Amp:

Easy set up. I bought speakon to 1/4 adapters for output to speakers and XLR for input from my mixer.

I just got it a few hours ago but I have been using it ever since I brought home. the Amp is noiseless. I love the fact that there are detents in the volume knobs as it makes it easy to match both channels(four clicks and it's on the first dot on the volume scale) If that is "volume setting one" then I don't need to go much louder in my small home studio.

Sound reproduction is perfect. I am using an iPad with Amplitube and Garage Band. iPad lined out to the mixer and on to the Crown power amp. From there I go into two 2x10 cabs in stereo.

I was hesitant to buy this due to the low price and the addage, "you get what you pay for". I was wrong. This amp was bargain and I got my money's worth and more.

I am happy I bought it and it brings new life to my studio.
