Comments about Crown X4000 Stereo 2x1350W Power Amp:

I ordered this amp impulsively through the 'Deal of the Day' which I keep my eye on regularly. I had heard whisper of the new Crown line but hadn't seen any reviews yet. I did my homework and after realizing its limitations and its abilities, I took a risk at such a great price and purchased it. I contacted Crown and spoke to a tech there about this range. He advised me it was 'old school' technology, a little heavy but solid in its abilities. Today, I set it up through my PA and did a direct comparison between the Crown X4000 and my Crown XTI4002. Firstly, I expected to hear a slight difference in sound quality. Not so, any difference was inaudible to me. Secondly, I figured that although the XTI is rated at 650w into 8 ohms and the X4000 is rated at 1000w, in terms of volume, this should not make that much difference ( double the volume requires 10 x power). Again I was shocked to find that the X4000 was noticeably louder at the same gain setting. Overall, this is a great sounding amp even though it is a little heavy especially compared to my XTI and XLS amps. Also note it has no DSP so if you use a DRPA or similar like me, you won't need it. I would like to have seen a limiter built into the amp but as I set my volumes carefully, I am always watching for clipping and I can set my limiters in my DRPA, it should be fine. Bridging is available but only at 8 ohms. Again, this suits me. Impulse buy worked out !!!

Comments about Crown X4000 Stereo 2x1350W Power Amp:

The Crown X4000 is great for musicians and D.J.'s that need a powerful amplifier with great headroom, even though the amp is for 8 & 4 ohm use "which I use 4 ohm per channel on each of my amps for my sub-bass cabinets anyway" and not 2 ohms is no biggie for me,so I brought 2 of them and when I put them to use BOY I was Not disappointed, "these Crowns amps can rock" I guess with the Crown name you can't go wrong... PEACE

Comments about Crown X4000 Stereo 2x1350W Power Amp:

I'll try to be brief and say I bought this due to its low price and claim of high power so I wanted to check it out myself. I wasn't disappointed and I doubt you will be either.

Long story short, for the money, you really can't find a better amp. Yes, the one downfall is that it is pretty heavy at 43 pounds and that is going to turn some people away but if you are looking for something to put in an amp rack and have about 4 of these for a pair of dual subs per side, These would probably be one of the best investments for around $1200 for 4 amps and about 10,000 watts of power.

I own a Behringer Inuke 6000 DSP and although Behringer gets a bad rap, I've owned some Peavey amps over the years that were great and put out tremendous power but as many know, they were "heavey." So, I tried the Behringer Inuke 6000 DSP to lighten the weight and it is actually very good. But, in comparison, I would say that this amp comes very close to matching and almost beating out my Behringer Inuke 6000 DSP for power/volume. Not quite, but close.

I like that you can change the input sensitivity on this amp as well as the various inputs and outputs for the amp. If you're the type that likes to use different wiring, then you've got many options here. I also like that there's a switch for changing between bridged/mono, stereo, and parallel wiring modes.

I haven't run this with tops yet because I would believe this to be more of a sub amp. But I'm sure it can put out some great sound.

I do my own personal singing performances and tribute shows so I provide a lot of my own sound for these events. I also provide my professional entertainment for weddings, corporate events, private parties, bars, restaurants, and many other things. I also provide sound for various functions and events like festivals, fairs, bands, smaller concerts and other live performances.

I believe this amp will be more than sufficient to provide the power needed and what's great is it uses a standard wall outlet plug.

Again, the ONLY downfall is the weight and I suppose it could be a little shorter in depth from front to back but compared to anything else even close to this price range, there is no comparison at this point.

And I believe it comes with Crown's 3 year warranty. (I'm not sure about that though so you'll have to check on that).
