I've been a club Dj since 2003. In a nightclub enviornment my Dj rig can go from delivering a little bit of power to all it's got in a half hour or so. When the dance floor is packed with people yelling and dancing...RED lights on amps are going to light up real quick to meet the loud sound requirements. I started off with the 602D which I run a pair of JBL JRX/100 15's in stereo. What an EXCELLENT match. JBL & CROWN. This amp runs cool all night long. Never tried it in bridge mode running my 18" sub cabs. but I'm sure they do fine around 4 ohms. Breaker has never tripped, never been in the shop, I can count on the power from this amp when I need to fill the clubs with Hard-hittin-heavy-weight sound. I stack this amp right up there with its ce-1000 & 2000 predecessors which I still use for my JBL JRX/100 18" sub cabs. It's just like they say... Our last Crown XLS lasted almost 10 years with heavy gigging. It was dropped, bumped, spilled on, crushed, and abused, and it just kept on going.Needless to say when the output transformers finally gave up, we went straight out and bought another one. Great value.

I have four Crown amps at my bar. One runs the house music, and three on stage run the subs, mains and monitors. 402, 602 and two 802's. Small bar, small system with a huge sound. Never had one single problem with any of my amps in over three years. Not one. These amps are quiet, have never had them cut out or any problems otherwise. For the price they are exceptional. They are totally reliable, in my opinion, and I have never had a reason to switch to a different brand. Power cord, power button and two knobs for volume. A monkey could set up and run my system. Why complicate anything? Very simple, very powerful and dependable. What more can anyone expect? Great quality and value.And many thanks to musiciansfriend. Great company for supplying and supporting working musicians and engineers with affordable quality products.

I don't know about the previous reviewer who was trashing these amps and extolling the virtues of the old amps Crown used to make, but I think this amp is loud, clean, reliable and inexpensive. I know a lot of crap comes from China, but a lot of decent stuff does as well, as long as the quality control guys stick to their guns. I have used this amp powering a chain of monitors, as well as a pair of 18" subs. In both instances, it was clean with little noise and plenty of headroom. Sure there are better amps out there. But not in this price range there arent. To the other guy Terry, I would love to know exactly what you DIDN'T like about these amps, instead of your pining over the good ol days.

I lived in Indiana near Elkhart where the REAL Crown amplifiers were made. My father had three of them which I inherited. They are now over 40 years old and STILL perform at rated specifications. They sound great.THOSE Crown amps were American Made marvels of electronic engineering. NASA still uses a Crown DC 300A (like one of mine) for WELDING.... that's right. Those original Crown amps are SO strong, so reliable and so resistant to failure that you can use them for super-fine control of DC metal welding.Those facts and the superb sonic quality of Crown amplification made audiophiles from Indiana swell with pride many years ago.Now, we hang our heads in shame. These new Crown amps are not terrible, but they are not REAL Crown amps. They are made in China like Behringer or other cheap amps. They are "Crown" in NAME ONLY and not worth any extra for the name.You can get a REAL American Made amp from QSC or Carvin that is sonically better, makes less noise and has more REAL power... not some BS "Class-D" rail-switching power, but REAL Class A/B deliver-the-juice day-in-day-out power.These are not exactly junk, but they ARE NOT CROWN.If you care about quality, or value, or losing American jobs while greedy CEOs steal the hard won good name of an American Icon, DON'T BUY anything from Crown until they start making them the way they used to.

This is a great amp, very solid built and clear as can be, I puchased the 402 and it worked great for a few jobs, however it was a bit weak pushing 2 600w,rms 15's, in a open ported cab and 2 100w horn drivers. So I traded it in for the 602 I did notice a little more kick, but I still had the E.Q up almost the same high trim level to push the cabs. Not much difference. I recomend the 802 if your pushing anything bigger. But the 602 does a nice job.

I have a 602B (a few models old) I believe. An excellent amp providing plenty of power. I have run it in fields off of generators, in clubs with dodgy power, in the sun, under a tarp in the rain, in clubs and bars, you name it. This amp doesn't have any of the bells and whistles that other amps do, like builtin x-overs or the like, but it has the one thing you can't live without - you can hit the power switch, and so far after 4 years of ownership and regular use, it powers up and runs in all conditions every time.I used to run a pair of s115V's with it in bridged mono, at full output, for several hours at a time. When it gets too hot, or gets power spiked, instead of melting down the protection circuitry just cuts power. Only had this happen a handful of times, but it's nice to know the amp takes care of itself. For the price, it can't be beat. I'm ordering another one today.

Just purchased 2 XLS620's and my expectations have been exceeded. Great transparent sound at all volume levels, pushing Yamaha S115Vs and two Peavy 18" subs, with a DBX crossover in between. These amps are very quiet (including the fans). They can get very loud and I have not even gotten them to clip. I do a one man band and DJ gig. It is obvious these amps are very high quality, and are built very well.

I went through enough crap amps like behringer and nady. I finally got sick of it and bought this 602. Best purchase I've made. Crown actually provides you with the amount of amps it says unlike behringer with its 1200w that sounds like 200w. I power two 15's and two 12's with easy and clarity for vocals and music mix. Planning on buying another soon for my sub-woofer im buying.
