Very nice and easy to get set up and great sound with no hum whatsoever. Balanced XLR out and in is very useful when everything in the system uses strictly XLR and they have a model with 1/4" out and in if you need it. Great product and takes up very little space in the rack.
For some really great mixes, I use this crossover with a pair of Yamaha HS50's for the highs and a pair of JBL LSR2325P's for the lows. I set both monitors flat then I play a variety of music through them, maybe even a particular style, as I tweak the crossover frequency. Once I've "tuned" everything, I'm ready to mix and it always comes out sounding great. I'm a huge fan of DBX products and this crossover is a fine piece of gear.
This is the first crossover I have used and installed myself. It is a very simple piece of equipment and very durable/trustworthy/effective. If you simply need to transfer hz to a subwoofer for that low end, get this. It wont fail and it pushes my 2 18's with a SICK rumble!!!Changes the sound completely!
I just wanted a simple crossover, split out the lows and send them to a sub. This is perfect for that. Doesn't have a ton of bells and whistles that I don't want or need. I added 1 sub to our mix, getting it's lows from this crossover through a dedicated power amp and it really has added the piece that was missing. Great product, very simple to use. The only drawback for me was having to buy extra cables due to no 1/4" ins or outs. I have tons of 1/4" cables but didn't have 1/4 to XLR.
For a basic PA system (two speakers for the top, and at least one sub), this crossover more than does the trick for cutting out the highs and delivering a clean signal to whatever you are running it to. With ample power, this helpful tool more than satisfies the ear with that perfect sound in mind.
