These headphones are awesome for practicing bass guitar.  I've tried a few other higher end brands over the years, but until now they've all let me down.  These are my first headphones to sound as good as my Eden cabs.  They've also been great for listening to records and playing games.  They produce strong, accurate bass, and at just about any volume you'd want short of hearing damage.  Based on my past experience, I sort of expected to be disappointed with this purchase, but I am now a believer in Denon quality.  I haven't beaten them up, but don't forsee any issues with build quality either.  I wouldn't think twice about buying these again.

I am a big fan of Denon products and these are no exception. No distortion, louder than I even imagined a headphone could be, very clear sound, and best of all they color the sound similarly to what your main PA will be playing out. I use these to DJ house and trance, they are great for both generes. If you mix sounds a bit harsh on the high end in these phones that because it is, Use your EQ! All headphones will eventually break at the arms when used for DJing, these are no exception. I recomend the warranty, I have used it once already after about a year of spinning with these phones. Overall outstanding and the best choice for a serious electronic DJ.

I've had these headphones for...well at least 6 months.  the set of sony MDR-V700's completely broke after about 6 months...and I could see a crack that kept getting worse in the few months leading up to it.  Also, the MDR-V700 headphones would make rather disconcerting noises when you swiveled the headphones...like they were going to break.  So far these Denon DJ headphones seem extremely solid---no cracks, no scary noises (that sound like they're about to break).  They're louder than my old sony headphones, and they sound way better.  I plug these babies into my laptop & use them as speakers & just crank it---they sound so much better than my laptop's built in speakers, if I want someone to be able to hear the audio with good quailty, I use these bad boys.  Every person I've showed them off to has been amazed!

Great looking but fragile

I purchased these headphones in January 08 and they have seen very moderate use, bordering on infrequent, an the headphones worked spectacularly in the beginning (good sound, great comfort). As of my last gig one headphone has completely snapped of and the other is no far behind. It appears there is a weak point about an inch to half inch up the telescoping section on both sides. The headphones were always put back in the bag, never sat on or abused in anyway, like I said barely moderate use. I haven't tried to see if I could get warranty because I am traveling abroad. I'm hoping they do the right thing and replace them.

I purchased these headphones because I've been unable to be at home where I can enjoy my Klipsch F-2s, since I've received them I have rediscovered the power of a quality pair of headphones. The resolution on these things are impeccable, the bass is clear, consistent, and not overpowered. The sensitivity on them allows for terrific volume without blowing out your eardrums too badly, also bringing the sheer energy of that special song to it's very peak. They handle all the power you can throw at them and then some with zero distortion. These babies can produce clear sound as small portable speakers that have the ability to even project their crisp bass across the room. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking to bring the concert with them anywhere they go. The value is absolutely unbeatable and the features of these headphones are unrivaled for the price range. These will last you for hundreds of hours of enjoyment to come.
