A great CD player for a good price. I just picked up a set to replace some old decks, and these are much much better. I "looked" at the CDJ800 and 1000, the DN-S3000 and 5000, and if your a scratcher, then yeah I would spring for those instead. But I don't scratch, so I was not that concerned with the performance in that area. That and I couldn't drop $2k for a set of the highest end stuff.Only time will tell how long the top jog disc will last, but if it hold true to the Denon name it should last a long time. Besides, it looks replaceable anyways. These cd players are SMALL!!! great for mobile guys :)I am very happy with the overall fit, finish, features and sound from this deck, after trying the CDJ200S side by side I can say it's a better product and worth the money.

The product is "o.k." good for what it's worth. I like the price, features, and the built in effects (coolest thing on this product). It's not hard to learn or use, like it's big brother the 3000 is. Biggest complaint, the platter does not spin and no display exists to let you know where on the disc you are!!! (Pioneer has a rotating display with cue point). This is important for scratching and cueing. For me this was a BIG drawback. Other than that... not a bad product. finding a case for the thing is not the most simple of things. It's so small.

Whoa mama!

By SubSeason-FF

This Denon cd turntable is awesome! Capable of both CD's and mp3's it's really the best of both worlds. Along with the 4 platter effects, and 4 other ones it really spices up a gig. Combine this with an effects processor, like a Kaoss or AirFX and wow... cool stuff. Only nitpick is the platter feels like flimsy paper under the not-too-sturdy feeling plastic top. Just a nitpick though! Totally worth getting!

For some one who now owns more cd's and MP3's than vinyl it's probably the best way to break into cd and MP3 disc I've seen for the money.

Pretty Nice for the Money

By Playstation2/XBOX - Addict !

I'm a novice Dj and I purchased a pair of DNS-1000s! The effects get old kind of quick. I love to scratch but with the platter not turning its not as good as a moving platter. Overall, nice Cd decks! The MP3 Id tag readability is nice! Decent if 400 is your budget!

The Migthy Little Player

The Denon DN-S1000 Player, and the Denon DN-X100 Battle Mixer. One of the best D.J.combo's sets around for the money. You won't go wrong buying the Denon! This little player will be there for you when you need it. I really like the layout of the Denon DN-S1000 and the placement of it's info. window,it's location allows you to see it, when hand operation is in progress. This little unit is well worth the money, and very dependable too. You wo'nt go wrong getting this little unit.

Doesn't Play MP3s Correctly

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I bought this unit because it seemed to offer the most features at a good price but I mainly bought it for the MP3 capability. Big disappointment! It skips, hiccups and just outright stops playing when playing some MP3s.

Denon DN-S1000 a whole new revolution.

By Dj Hype

from Houston, Tx

I think this product is the CD PLayer we all have been waiting for. I mean it is a get in make your money and get out. No more extre 2 hrs. set-up time. You can run 10 mins. before ur gig is going to start and you will make it still cause of its compactability.

Great Value

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I use two of these units every weekend and have never been happier with any other CD player on the market under $400. The sound quality is excellent. The MP3 player is problem free. The loops are very clean tight and the echo effect does wonders for house music mixes. The only thing that you're not getting is a very accurate or scratch-friendly plate. GREAT VALUE!

Nice Bang For Your Buck$

By DJ Channing

from Jacksonville, FL

I gotta say this is a great value. I'm old school (vinly) but recently joinrd the digital era. The DENON DNS 1000 opens up options as digital tracks are less expensive and easier to access. I don't have to break the bank to have both digital and vinyl at my finger tips.

Review

By DJ Poulos (How original, right?)

from Chicago around Chicago. (Suberbs)

I'm new to DJing, but my brother had DJ'd with vinyl before and this really doesn't sound any different. I didn't want to give it all tens because I don't have that much experience, but I would recommend this to anybody. It's nice that you don't have to buy vinyl then eventually ruin it and still have all of the qualities of it and more.

NOT TOO BAD

By O' DeJay

The effects are plane and you will get tired of them quick. The top doesnt spin, doesnt pull like a turntable. I thought it would have been better because its a Denon. What you pay is what you get.
