Bought it, installed it, LOVE IT!!!!  I do not care that it needs an external drive because I have a 500GB Elements that works fine with this (USB by the way - not Firewire as everyone has complained about)). I just increase the H/W Buffer size as explained in the instructions and off I go!  The BFD Lite plugin is my favorite but you also get compression/limiting, Amplitube LE, tuners, all kinds of plugins.  IMO, you can't get a better studio for under $200.  I have had it for 4 years now and it has survived a total wipe/reinstall of my Windows OS (got a nasty Trojan virus)about 2 months ago.  I was even able to login to the AVID website to retrieve all of my activation codes to get back to exactly where I was when my PC froze.   If you are looking to turn a computer into a Home Recording Studio for about $200 look no further. Just please read the specs and know that yes you will have to buy an external drive if yours doesn't match up.

This M-Box is so perfect. Over the past 10 years my studio has grown and shrunk and grown again and has now shrunk for the last time. I I first got this M-Box because I needed a small rig to move about. I had a room full of gear centered around a digi002 complete with light pipe and a 32 channel analog board (not to mention the racks of out board gear. Long story short. I began to complete mixes inside the box and I my clients still thought I was using the strips on the board. the electric bill went down. This M-Box and Pro Tools (and good plug ins) has delivered quality mixes that are limited only by my mixing skills. ITB is the way to go.

Lots of features - if you have the right system

Ok, so I bought this without reading any reviews.  It was recommended to me at a local music store.  No, didn't get it from here but maybe this review will help those that follow. I looked on the box and read the system requirements.  My computer greatly exceeded them all.  I was all set.  So I thought. Installation was smooth.  The software is very robust and packed with features.  That isn't the complaint. What you do NOT see on the box is the high recommendation that you use a hard drive that is NOT your main system drive.  That means a different internal drive or an external firewire drive.  External USB will not work.  Also, the external firewire has to have a specific chipset.  I found this out because the one I happened to have did not have the right chipset. Essentially what happens is after several seconds of recording, you get an abrupt error about a buffer or something.  Just google 6086 error and you'll see.  There are pages upon pages about this error on forums. So, with that said; I am returning this product.  It's just too much hassle and work to get some simple recording done at home.  If I were a pro-audio guy I'd tough it out and make it work.  Rather, I'd probably have something a lot more high end in the first place. Bottom line: Do not buy unless you have done your homework as to whether it will run on your system. If it does then fantastic, you'll reap the rewards.  If not, you'll be in for a headache.

I bought this package a couple months ago. Everything works as it should. The Pro Tools package is AWESOME!! This actually does come with everything you need to produce professional recordings. Of course, if you want to record more than one source at a time, you will want a bigger interface.. But the Pro Tools package is well worth the price of this package by itself.
