Comments about Digital Reference Red Howler Harmonica Mic:
I bought this to have it modded with my old 520 d element among other things. But,I may get another at this price. I liked it's tone better than the dx, and the volume and volume control knob are steps up from that bullet. In a world that won't bring back vintage elements, this dynamic is a great option for a first mic or spare, or a gig mic for some players.

Comments about Digital Reference Red Howler Harmonica Mic:
I picked this bullet mic up on a holiday sale for half price and i must say i'm happily surprised with the build quality and sound quality. In my opinion it blows the newer shure green bullet out of the water. Now and then a newer brand comes along with a superior product and i must say this is one of them. I'm not getting paid to write this review but i'd be happy to endorse these mics. Thanks -$Daddy Rich$

Comments about Digital Reference Red Howler Harmonica Mic:
I use a Green Bullet. It's got an output volume level much louder than most harp mics. I heard the Red Howler was a knock-off of a knock-off of a Green Bullet, so I gave it a try at the Stupid Deal price.
Worth it.
It has the same higher volume level as my Green Bullet, so I can use it as a backup live and not have to twiddle amp knobs after the switch.
It's tone is much more 'clean' than my Green Bullet. More like my Shaker dynamic. Not a 'honker'. However, that tone difference is also a plus. I can use the Green Bullet for blues, the Red Howler for jazz if I wanna.
So for a low cost, this was definitely a good deal. At regular cost, it turns out to still be a good deal. Because I think this mic is better than my old Hohner Bluesblaster (circa 90's), sounds as good as my Shakers, feels great in the hand like my Green Bullet and has that higher volume like the G.B.
Now, what we truly need is a mainstream mic manufacturer to replicate the elements from the 50's, make some really quality crystal elements or some faithful quality CM/CR elements. We all seem to have old shells with bad elements in them. Give us something better!

Comments about Digital Reference Red Howler Harmonica Mic:
I purchased this to add to my collection thinking it would be ok, really suprised how nice it sounds. compaired to a stock Shure green bullet (520D) it is very close in sound. slightly thinner mid range, but 1/3 the price. I like the finger grooves for ease of holding, and the flat spots on the sides keep it from rolling off my amp while not in use.

Comments about Digital Reference Red Howler Harmonica Mic:
I am a beginner looking to play around and get good enough to do some open mics and some public performance. The quality of the mic is outstanding and the volume switch is useful and important. I do like the indent, it helps me find where I am on the volume scale as I am getting used to the mic. It has a bit of fuzz that progresses as the volume of the amp goes up. One of the best features is the extremely long cord. It allows for very easy unconstricted movement. I have large hands and can hold the mic easily, not sure what small handed people do. It is rounded and comfortable and feels good and heavy in my hands. I like it.

Comments about Digital Reference Red Howler Harmonica Mic:
I like being able to control the feedback with the volume knob, but, I like the grittier sound of My green bullett. Still, a nice sounding mic for the money, and I am happy to have it in My collection.
Comments about Digital Reference Red Howler Harmonica Mic:
good value
Nice solid mic, performs like my green bullet, about as crunchy as I need playing through a blues jr. Mic looks great, fits my hand comfortably, have only played it for about 4 hours, but very satisfied.
Good value for the price.
