I?ll attempt a comprehensive review that will, hopefully, offer consumers some concrete information to consider when buying.Pros:1) Offers features that can expand and improve the sound of a solo singer/ guitarist.2) Harmony ?patches? as well as ?Part A/B? foot switch are helpful and easy to use.3) ?Pitch correction? is somewhat helpful, but makes the voice sound overly processed if turned up too much.4) ?Humanize? control can help make the harmony sound much more life-like, (actually lets you set the amount of delay in the harmony).5) ?Gender? control is a useful feature ?Voicing? sounds okay if you don?t exceed the ?high? setting (above) and the ?low" setting (below). If you set it more than one third above or below, it sounds overly processed and fake.6) You must be able to sing mostly on pitch (even with ?pitch correction? engaged), or the harmonizer will produce incorrect notes.7) This system does a decent job of ?reading? your guitar if you stick primarily to major and minor chords. If you try to use more complicated chords system will sometimes produce incorrect harmony notes.8) The system works best while strumming the guitar. If you do much picking, it will sometimes produce incorrect harmony notes.Cons:1) Voice setting of ?higher,? ?octave,? lower? and ?bass? sound so processed they are virtually useless2) I hear no difference when engaging the ?warmth? effect. Maybe because I?m using an old ?tube? type PA??3) Watch your speaker placement, or the system will pick up the guitar signal from your amp and create slight fuzziness and distortion on the guitar sound4) See limitations above describe under ?Pros?-- #6, #7, #8..Conclusion:If you go light on the effects, use it for primarily uncomplicated songs, and are willing to limit the amount of picking (as opposed to strumming) you do, this system can offer some useful improvements to your over all sound. Buy it from a vendor that will let you return it if unsatisfied, and don?t expect miracles. Overall, however, I?m glad I bought it and I?d definitely buy it again. I hope those of you considering buying this pedal will find this information useful.

I have used the Vocalist 2 for the last couple years. And it sounds great! It was very easy to get the mix I desired. But it sang its last song on New Years Eve in the middle of the gig. I was very excited about getting the new upgraded Vocalist 3. I have had it for about a month now. And I kept telling myself it must be something I have adjusted wrong? But I spent hours and hours adjusting everything in it every way it can be adjusted. And still no matter what I do,it sounds like an off key backup singer and feeds back whenever I hit the harmony button.Unless my mic is so low you can`t hear it. Never had this problem with the Vocalist 2. I absolutly hate this crapy pedal! I am for sure going to get rid of it and find another Vocalist Live 2. And this time I`ll buy 2 of them in case after a couple years it also breaks. Now that they have discontinued the V2 I don`t even want to think how bad the next upgraded one could be! More knobs and cooler look don`t mean nothing if it don`t sound as good!

Comments about DigiTech Vocalist Live 3 Vocal Harmony Processor Pedal:

The new model is alittle more complicated than the vocalist 2, but then again you get alot more features to work with. Once you put it to use and after a little reading you get into the features pretty quickly. Overall I'm very pleased with the new unit and would recommend it highly to anyyone needing some good background vocals.

Comments about DigiTech Vocalist Live 3 Vocal Harmony Processor Pedal:

I've used the Vocalist 3 for about two years. It is an invaluable tool for me, a singer/guitar player. It works well with all styles of music. Gospel songs sound like a quartet. Bluegrass songs sound like a close harmony trio. My favorite is the 60's. I can get good echo and double tracking harmonies for the pre Beatles songs. The Beatles harmonies are close too. Since there are no presets on this device, I had to experiment with every song type to get the desired harmony mix. I have a BBE added to my PA for clarity. The Vocalist 3 has given new life to singing.

Comments about DigiTech Vocalist Live 3 Vocal Harmony Processor Pedal:

I saw it in action a couple times and was impressed. I ordered it and like what it adds to my sound. The footswitches are noisy but I guess I can live with that. I recommended it to my nephew in Nashville and it will be interesting to see his take on it. My recording setup is amps into a Zoom 4 so the footswitch noise is an irritant. If not for that I would rate it 5 stars. My nephew in Nashville lost a sideman and the group was without 3 part harmony. I recommended this pedal which will fill that gap. Can't wait to hear the results.

This thing works great! I got the DigiTech Vocalist Live 3 Vocal Harmony Processor Pedal 3 weeks ago, and have used it at a Gig and for Jamming every weekend since. It sounds Great, it's as if the Angels are singing along. I have found it to be easy to use right out of the box. I can plug it into our PA for Big Gigs, or just into my Fishman Loudbox for smaller shows. It seems like it will be rugged enough to survive the pounding that the equipment gets when being loaded and unloaded all of the time. The preset Harmonys are good, but it is nice to be able to add your own touch. I love the built in tuner. The only trouble I have had, was with the extra cables it takes. Small dark stages, and extra tripping hazards can be dangerous. The price was just under $300 which seemed kind of high, but now that I have seen the crowds reaction when I step on the Harmony button, I won't be without it.

Right out of the box this thing was a lot of fun. First time out got many comments about our (three piece group) tight harmonies, including one from a professional singer in the audience! Makes me think like a choir director, and realize I gotta work through ALL my songs now...it does take some getting used to. Headphone out would be nice. So would an easier way to switch harmony button from momentary to toggle without going into set-up. Could we maybe even see "ooohs" and "aaahs" in the future? This has put a lot of fun back in my music!

Comments about DigiTech Vocalist Live 3 Vocal Harmony Processor Pedal:

I use it playing live in front of audiences on acoustic guitar.

It works fine but it feeds its own signal back through its input. I use a Boss Looper pedal with it. I also use a Rocktron Prophecy II preamp/processor.

I send the guitar signal to the Vocalist from the Rocktron's 'Out To Tuner' output. I send my guitar signal directly from the processor's Main Out to the looper pedal, bypassing the Vocalist altogether.
I do *not* use the Vocalist's 'Guitar Through' output at all.

The looper pedal goes to a guitar amp and no where else. The microphone goes through the Vocalist directly to a PA system.

I can completely unplug my guitar and then sing into the mic. I hit the Boss looper to 'record'. When I play back, the VOCAL from the MIC can be heard coming from the LOOPER pedal into the GUITAR AMP!!

The Vocalist is destroying my guitar tone. If I play lead guitar too loud the Vocalist causes it to 'scream' feedback.

When I just unplug the guitar signal going into the Vocalist all the feedback problems disappear. Of course, the Vocalist no longer knows what harmonies to sing.
